The document discusses various digital tools and software that were used at different stages of creating a music video project. Blogger was used to post work updates, meetings, and idea changes online. YouTube was used to post the final video, test ideas through preliminary filming, and find inspiration from other music videos. Final Cut Express was used to professionally edit the video to suit the chosen song with creative transitions and color grading. Adobe Photoshop allowed designing promotional materials like CD covers through photo editing and formatting. Social networks also provided inspiration and a way to engage with audiences.
Blogger to YouTube: Software used in music video production
1.
2. BLOGGER
We used blogger as the software to present our work. We
posted work regarding updates, meetings and changes
to our ideas for example. It was an easy way to get
class work straight onto the internet and was an easy
way to advertise and market our artist, as it was going
straight onto the internet in a professional manner.
3. YOUTUBE
We used Youtube in many different ways. We used it to
post our final media product and also to add
preliminary filming to test ideas. We also used it to find
music videos to compare to our genre and to get ideas
for our music video. I found this easy as I am a keen
user of youtube so I knew how to use it and how to find
music videos.
4. FINAL CUT EXPRESS
We used final cut express as the software to edit our
music video so that it would look professional and suit
the song we had chosen. The software allowed us to
come up with creative ideas as we knew what we
could do on the software from working with it at AS. It
allowed us to suit our video to genre with the
transitions we need and the specific colour change to
allow us to give it a vintage look.
5. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Adobe Photoshop was used during the process of making
our digi pack and promotional pack for our artist. It
allowed us to try different filters and colour schemes
on photos. It also allowed us to cut and crop our
pictures into specific sizes that we need for a CD cover
and the picture that would be on the actual CD. These
therefore allowed us to portray our artist as a genuine
indie artist as our work looked professional.
6. IMAC
Imacs had everything we need. They made everything we
did very easy and allowed us to get on with our work
with ease.
7. PREZI
Prezi was a software we used to present our work in a
different way to make our blogs stand out and not be
just text
8. CANNON HD CAMERA
The Camera that we used was a HD Cannon camera.
These cameras allowed us to film with ease as it made
it accessible to do many types of shots, for example a
POV shot by holding the camera or a steady cam shot
by using a tripod.
9. NIKON DIGITAL CAMERA
This was the camera that we used when taking shots for
our digi pack, promotional package and for taking
pictures of possible locations during the planning stage
of the production.
10. SOCIAL NETWORKS
Social networks such as Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook
helped us throughout the process of making our media
piece. Tumblr allowed us to get ideas for mise en scene
through searching keywords to get images that would
give us inspiration. Whilst Facebook allowed us to keep
in touch as a group through the messaging system and
it allowed to see what other things our audience liked.
Twitter allowed us to feed what we were doing as a
group directly to our blog from wherever we are
through a widget on a blog.
