2. RECCE PHOTOS
This is the location of
where I will film the
close ups of the girl, I
think having a
monochrome location
will really make the
filming aesthetically
pleasing. I don’t want
there to be a lot going
on in the background
either, the attention fully
needs to be on the girl
so therefore I think in a
bedroom is the best
place, white walls are
here too so this will be
good for the close ups.
The café I the first location that I will
be filming in, so this is what it looks
like. I mainly just want to focus on
him so a table will be fine as he will
be sat alone, more of the location
will be seen when he leaves. Having
thing going on In the background is
good as I think it becomes more
realistic.
The other location is down a street,
this makes the video become quite
urban so choosing this location is
beneficial. The only other location is
obviously in the car so this was
chosen as it matches the lyrics in the
song which is a good factor I think.

3. FLOOR PLANS
Whitewall
Location: Bedroom
For the close ups of the girl
Key:
Where my character will be:
Shot number:
Where the camera will be:
5-7
9
13-15
These first shots will be against
the white wall, as this is when
were first introduced to the girl so
here is where I just want close ups
of certain features, so having
nothing else distracting in the
background is important as I
purely just want to focus on her.
Camera will be positioned in front
of her and close up on specific
features.
The next shot is placed by the mirror, I
thought this location would be good as
the audience will already be introduced
to the girl character so we can see more
of the room now and see more of her.
The camera will be behind her as she
looks into the mirror.
The last shots I think can be of her siting on
the bed or around this location as the
audience will now become more familiar
with the bedroom location so having other
bedroom features gives more of this idea.
Camera will be positioned in front of her,
eye line view.
4. COSTUMES
For this music video, I want the costume to be very casual as the context of the
music video is quite laid back and nothing formal so therefore the actors don’t need
to be dressed smartly.
So for the male actor: a basic t-shirt, trousers, shoes (trainers possibly), a coat (any
type), watch
the female actor I want to follow the same idea really, nothing too revealing as that
isn’t relevant to my video context. So even a knitted jumper for her may be useful to
show a laid back idea, especially in the flashback or close up shots of the girl scenes.
But I think having her in different clothing when they meet again will be good as it
shows it’s a different time, so maybe a different top or having a coat on may be
useful.
I want to still incorporate R&B conventions so the idea of still using trainers and
watch adds to this as it’s more urban, street style which I still want the video to
contain and also gives the impression of him having money due to the ‘bling’ he’s
wearing, which is typical in R&B videos.
5. ACTORS
For my video I only have two main characters: a male and female.
Male Character:
Name: James Battye
Age: 17
I have chosen this actor as he is a young male which is what I need for the
video. He’s the type of person I want for my video, I think he could really act
well as my character. He is also accessible which is beneficial.
Female Character:
Name: Georgia Revell-Turvey
Age: 17
I have chosen this actress as she is again a young female, which is what I want
for the video. Georgia is also accessible which is beneficial for filming, I have
arranged times for her to film and she has confirmed.
6. PROPS
For my music video I am only going to need a few props:
For the opening scenes my male actor is going to need a coffee
mug. I need this because during the first shots he is in a café,
drinking a coffee or tea so I will need this prop to so he can use
it and it makes it more realistic.
I will also need a car, any type, as this is what the actor needs
for the shots of when he’s getting into a car and the driving
scenes.
A mobile phone as an extra prop, this may be a useful prop for
him to look at in the café which makes him leave.
