2. IS THE PRODUCT COHERENT?
With the products that I created I wanted they to be done to a high quality
and look professional. As well as this I wanted the whole promotional
packaging is branded correctly enabling it to promote the band as well as
drawing in the audience
3. HOUSE STYLE /
THEME
The colours that I chose for the print work and videos were focused on
a pink/purple. Within the music video we used a red light to add
lighting to the main performer. I feel that these colours relate well to
pop rock genre and allow the video and print work to stand out from
the crowd. I used a mixture of the two colour pallets shown, I used
black because allowed the writing to be seen and once it was
surrounded by the purple colour that was also seen in the music video
allowed the audience to see a connection between the to.
4. FONT
This was the font that I used throughout my print work.
I used this font because I felt that it related to the genre of music as
well as allowing the writing to stand out for its original style. I didn’t
want to use a font that was to in your face and I felt that with the
font style ( arrows involved with letters) linked to the bands names
against the current and it created the sense that the band was
bushing boundaries as well as staying true to their Pop rock style.
5. LIGHTING
The lighting throughout out music video was very dark on the performers
faces. This makes the audience more interested in the band as they are
harder to see makes the audience look at them more. Throughout the solo
shots of the singer we used LED faire lights to add different style to the singer.
This made the singer more visible and allowed us to build their star image. This
was a technique we was used in other music videos.
6. PROPS AND COSTUMES
When we were thinking of ideas for the costumers we wanted them to look as
normal as possible because we felt this would make it easier for the audience
to relate to it. From research we found that typically in pop rock music videos
the stars wore t-shirt and jeans so this is what we did with the actors throughout
the narrative.
7. VISUAL THEMES
The main theme within our music video is that a couple was happy but
everything started to go wrong ending up them arguing and eventually
breaking up. This was a story line that we felt could relate to teenagers and
was also a typical theme within our genre. When taking our photos for the print
work we had the band standing in strong, confident poses, originally the
photos seemed a little dark so we edited them so that they were more clear.
From the feedback we received everyone was able to understand our theme
and they felt that it related to our target audience.
8. IMAGE
The shot typed we used in both the music video as well as the photos from the
print work were close ups. We did this so that we could build star image.
However the other shots that we used we wanted to focus on the other
members of the band and not just the lead singer.
