1. Project Schedule
The first stage for creating the advertisement is preparing everything so that you are ready to get
down to shooting the actual video. It is very important that we create a schedule for all the work
that needs doing so that we don’t spend two weeks on preparing and then realising that we only
have 2 days to shoot an edit. If we create a project schedule and stick to it then we will avoid any
panics at the last minute and have plenty of time to do everything. I have left out briefing our clients
and all the meetings as I feel as though they are not as important to the actual schedule as we have
a long period of time to complete all that, and would be hard to predict how long it will be before we
can have several meetings with the client. As someone in the group may be busy while everyone else
is free, which will cause delays in how long it will take to create the meeting. That is why I have
included them in-between dates so we have a general idea of when we want to have our client
meetings. I hope to have around 3 client meetings during the production so that he can give us views
on how he thinks we are doing, and what he thinks we should change.
To create the advertisement we decided to use 5 days to prepareall the information and create an
idea for what they want to do. Although five days seems like a long time we thought that if we had
more time we would come up with a better idea of exactly what we wanted. –5 Days
After we had the idea for our project we then went on to setting up all the equipment for the
project, and making sure that everything worked correctly. As this usually doesn’t take that long, we
have decided to only use one day for this. –1 Day

After all the equipment was ready for use we just had to film the actual advertisement, for this we
decided to dedicate a whole week to it, as we could always just change different parts of it if we
needed extra time. –5 Days

Once we have all the footage for the video all we need is the audio before we can put the final
product together, to do this we will be using audacity. To create the audio we have decided to
dedicate a total of 3 days. -3 Days

After we have all the audio and video footage that we need all we have to do is put all the files
together in a editing software. For this we have decided to advocate a total of 4 days so that we can
create the final look that we want. -4 Days

The text above was my original Project schedule but after having a talk with the team I quickly found
out that these timescales were unrealistic and I wouldn’t be able to reach them.
2. 1st
Week
In the first week we will be making all the plans and having a look at some of the other videos that
are also advertising college courses. This will give us an idea on how we will later be making our
video. It will also help us organise our assets and make sure that we have everything that we could
possibly need when it comes to shooting the video. We will also have to ask our interviewees what
dates they are available so that we can plan ahead and decide when exactly we are going to start
filming them.
We will also be having a meeting with our client to also give him an idea on what we hope to do later
on with the video.
2nd
Week
In the second week will begin shooting the video by starting out with the panning shots are around
the college to give the viewer a feeling of what he college actually looks like. These shots are going
to be used at the start of our video and will contain shots of the cafeteria, front of the college and
the middle of the college. When shooting these scenes we have to make sure that the different
areas are quite busy otherwise the college looks plain and boring.
3rd
Week
In the third week we will start editing the first few clips that we shot during the second week to save
time later on in the project. We will also be continuing on with the opening shots as we may not get
everything that we need during the second week, this could mainly be because of bad weather or
lack of people in the right areas.
We will have another meeting with our client to keep him updated with what is happening with our
video and give him a look at some of the edited footage.
4th
Week
We will continue on shooting the opening scenes during this week if we haven’t already finished it,
we will also bestarting some of the interviews if people are available at the right times. This will also
come down to the preparation in the first week to make sure that we can begin doing the interviews
in this week.
5th
Week
We will continue on doing the interviews if they are available at the right times again, during this
week I hope to be almost finished with all the different interviews to make sure that we have
enough time to do the rest of our project.
After that we will have another meeting with our client to show him some of the interviews and give
him an idea of what the final product may look like.
3. 6th
Week
We will edit all the footage together during this week.I will make sure when editing that I choose all
the right transitions and make sure that the video is flowing smoothly so that you can barely see the
video changing scene. In this week I will have to look back at my storyboards and make sure that I
choose the best transitions according to how they look on the storyboards.
7th
Week
We will make sure that all the footage was put together properly and that everything is running
smoothly.I will watch the video over and over to try and correct any mistakes that I notice, I will also
be uploading it to YouTube to try and get some feedback on how I could improve the video. After I
am satisfied with the final product I will be rendering the video out into the format which I choose to
be at its best.We will then show the final video to our client and make sure that he is satisfied with
the final product to make sure that everything was done correctly.
8TH
Week
This is an extra week which I have nothing planned to do in as I may need extra time on some of the
pervious tasks, by having this week extra I will make sure that I get all the tasks done on time and
make up for any tasks which were ill planned.
