The document summarizes the process of creating a video about identity fraud for young people aged 16-21. It discusses initial planning, filming within a day and a half in high-key lighting instead of the requested low-key lighting, editing within two weeks which was a challenge, organizing files into categories, evaluating successes like footage and facts but also room for improvement in editing and lighting, and learning to not rush the editing process.
2. INITIAL CONCEPT
I was asked to create a project, where I would make a video based on identity fraud.
So I came up with the idea based on the target audience. That I would create a
Identity Fraud video for people aged between 16-21. I thought of the idea about
making the actor where a college lanyard. This is because we are working with
people aged between the age of 16-21. so I thought it would be a good idea to have
he actor between that age. As well as have a student ID badge which also links in
with the ID fraud campaign. It creates the atmosphere of a young male who has
suffered from identity fraud.
3. FILMING
I was asked to film a ID Fraud video, about young people aged between 16-21 years
of age. This advertisement was scheduled to take a few days to film. The filming did
not take as long as we thought. Me and the casting crew were able to film it within
the time frame of a day and a half. Which was essential as this gave me more time
to edit. When I was asked to film, there was a brief that required the advertisement
to be in low-key lightening. But unfortunately I have not able to reach this
requirement. This was because the way I wanted my advertisement to be filmed
had to be in high-key lighting. In my opinion I think that the video I filmed was better
filmed in high key-lightening. Overall for time management I believe, that I
successfully pulled together a great advertisement. Which gives across the
emotional and physical pain caused by Identity Fraud.
4. EDITING
Editing for me was a difficult part of the process for this advertisement. For me one of
my weaknesses is in film making, is editing. I was glad me and the casting crew
managed to get the raw footage competed in very little time as possible. We made
sure we completed this work accurately but at the same time as quickly as possible.
We did not want to waste any time. This was because the faster we completed the
footage the more time we got to edit the clips together. I was planning for the editing
to be completed within two weeks. I managed to hit my goal, and complete the
editing within the timeframe. I also wanted to complete the advertisement with great
success.
5. ORGANIZATION
There was plenty of organization that was placed into this little project. I had many different
files. I organised my files into many different categories such as footage, facts, final footage
and finished project. So how I don’t this was I put all footage recorded into a file. Then I
made a different file which consisted of the final footage used. I also had a file which had the
facts needed for the video in it. Then finally I have a file called “Final Project” which consists
of the finished advertisement which I will be submitting for my final piece. This helped me
because since I was more organised, I was able to access things much easier. Wirth having
different files for different things saves me a lot of time. This is because if I didn’t have
organised files I would have wasted time looking for my footage and projects etc.
6. FINAL EVALUATION
This is my final evaluation based on my final product that I created. I made a advertisement
based on Identity Fraud. Many things of my things were a success. Where their was some
bits of my work which I could have done better.
Pros: Footage, Facts, high-key lighting
Cons: Editing, Low-Key lighting
There is more things I done better than things I struggled with. I think footage went really well.
Which kept us on schedule. I managed to get some great facts and they fitted in with the
advertisement very well. Also High-key lighting was successful within my video.
There was also some things that I struggled with. Which was editing and managing to hit the
requirement of having the video be in low key lighting. To improve my editing skills I will
practice making different pieces to enhance my skills.
7. CONCLUSION
• There has been many lessons I have learned while I made this project. One of the
main lessons I have learned is taking time editing. Never rush editing because if you
rush editing. You will never have a good enough piece to meet the criteria. To
improve this I will take time editing my work and also to improve my editing skills I
will practice making different pieces to enhance my skills.
