2. Top Three Favorite Assignments
– 1. Self Assessment
– Self-assessment was important to me because I was able to learn a lot about myself at the beginning
of this semester to see where I stood. The second time we did this assignment, I was able to be more
real with myself and see the areas where I have greatly improved thanks to what I have learned in this
class. I am thankful to have learned so much about myself that I can take on from this class to continue
to grow and improve.
– 2. Scavenger Hunt
– I was a fan of the scavenger hunt because it taught me a lot about Grayson College that I did not know.
I was able to find out about services that were offered here at the college as well as the contacts and
who to ask for help when I need it. I now know where to go in my future semesters when I need help,
and other services that are offered to help students get to know one another.
– 3. How to Get the Most Out of Studying Discussion Board
– I enjoyed this discussion board because it helped me understand what goes into studying and actually
learning and retaining what information you are reading and hearing. I also enjoyed being able to see
what other students took from it, and get their feedback on what I learned. This was a positive way for
us to all come together to see how we can help ourselves as well as help one another.
3. Top Three Favorite Journals
– 1. Chapter 2 Journal Entry
– I liked this journal entry because it helped me become in tune with my inner guide, inner defender,
and my inner critic. I have fought with my inner critic a lot through my years but now I am letting my
inner guide take control and help me with all of my issues and problems. I learned that I am in control,
and not others or other outside forces. Everything I do, comes from me.
– 2. Chapter 3 Journal Entry 11
– I enjoyed this journal entry because it made my dreams and goals feel so much closer than I had
thought. I have always had goals set, but they always seemed so far fetched. I did not think I would be
able to put lit into to words and actually feel it all coming together to get me closer to my goals until I
wrote it down and imagined being there.
– 3. Chapter 6 Journal Entry 23
– In this journal entry, I dealt with self-sabotaging scripts. This is something I have struggled with in the
past, but this assignment made it easier to have a new perspective. This assignment helped me learn
how to reflect on my problems, expand on the problem, and clarify what the problem is. This makes it
easier to find out what the actually “problem” is, and be able to tackle it head on.
4. Favorite Module
Module four was my favorite module, because in module four, we learned more
about self-management. This goes further than the classroom, this helps with your
everyday life, in school, in relationships with your friends and family as well as
significant others. Self-management is taking responsibility for one’s own actions.
Every success in your life comes from you, not anyone or anything else. The same
for “failures,” or when life takes a different path than what you would like, it is up
to YOU and only YOU to change this. I really appreciated how in depth this module
was.
5. Three lessons I will take with me
– 1. I am in control of everything I do, and every thing I succeed in.
– 2. My inner guide should dominate my inner critic, and my inner defender.
– 3. My dreams and my goals are not far fetched, they are right around the corner
as long as I keep myself on track, and don’t let anything stop me.
8. Things I learned through the self
assessment
– My two largest raises came from discovering self-awareness and also gaining
self-awareness. I think this is very important, as I have definitely improved with
self-awareness. I want to continue to increase my “believing in myself,” because
I have had issues in the past of not believing I can accomplish what I set my
mind to, though I truly know I can! It is up to me to get where I want to be. I am
in charge of myself, and accomplishing all my goals, no one else. Self awareness
is extremely important, and once you are self-aware you are unstoppable.
9. Accomplishing Goals & Dreams
my goals and dreams
– Banking Services Manager for Landmark Bank
– I have worked for Landmark Bank for the past three years. I have plans to become the BSM for any location in
Texas soon after getting my degree. It will be incredible, and it will be well deserved. I will stand with my co-
workers, who have helped me get to where I am and continue to push me to better myself, when I accept.
– Debt Free
– I am in the process of paying off all of my debts. I have a savings plan and a debt-free plan. I will be debt free
by this time next year. I am sticking to my goal, as I have been for the past year. Life can throw several curve-
balls, but I won’t let those beat me or keep me off of my plan.
– Degree
– I have had my sights on a degree since 2012. It has taken quite a bit longer than I had planned, but it does not
matter how long it takes me to get there, as long as I get there. I plan to have my degree by the end of next
year. I will walk across the stage with my classmates, in front of the professors, friends, family and others as I
move my tassel and accept my diploma.
