2. My name is Edelwina Mendoza and my major is Nursing. I am a team player.
3. One of my favorite assignment or discussion that we did from this class is when
we learned about what metacognition is. I learned how to study more effectively.
By understanding the content and not just read it. I learned how to comprehend
more when it comes to reading.
Second is the topic about accepting personal responsibility. As a student we need
to have a creator mindset that is one key to become successful. If you have a
mindset of a victim you will be struggling and make a careless decisions. I
sometimes get upset if I get a low grade but instead of feeling that way I learned
to cope and find a ways how to do better next time.
The last one is mastering self-management. As a student we need to act in
purpose and develop a self-discipline in order to become successful. Disorganized
or unplanned lives is not going to help a student. I learned how to organized my
time more effectively especially when I am studying.
4. One of my favorite journal that we did in this class is the journal entry 1. Where
we did a self- assessment. I learned where my weakness area is and what I need
to improve on myself in order to achieve my goals. I learned how to master self-
management. Discover the things that motivates me and believe in myself more.
Boost that confidence.
The second one is journal entry 8. When we wrote about our inner critic versus
our inner defender. This help me to reflect more about myself. Instead of
criticizing and feel sorry about myself or if something negative happened, I
learned to face it and do something about it.
The last one is the last journal that we did. Where we compare the result of the
first self-assessment we did on the first week of class and see if the score changes.
Gaining self awareness is one improvement that I saw. I need to improve more on
my interdependence and the last one is adopting a lifelong of learning.
5. The week that I like the most is week one. When we did a scavenger hunt and the
self- assessment journal. The scavenger is fun I learned to navigate the website
more. The self-assessment journal is one of the best tool to reflect on yourself.
6. The number one lesson that I learned from this class and I will carry into my next
semester is, to study more deep and not shallow. It saves time too because instead
of just reading you also need to reflect on the content that you just read in order
for you to have a better and deep understanding and comprehend more.
The second one is accepting my responsibility. Do not be a victim instead be a
creator.
The last one is employing interdependence.
7. First Score Second score
52 62 1. Accepting personal responsibility.
56 56 2. Discovering self-motivation.
59 55 3. Mastering self-management
38 32 4. Employing interdependence
41 58 5. Gaining self-awareness
48 53 6. Adopting lifelong learning
43 41 7. Developing emotional intelligence.
42 45 8. Believing in myself
Some of the things I learned from doing this self- assessment again are, I
learned to accept my personal responsibility more. I need to work on my self-
motivation and employing interdependence. I am an introvert type of person
I prefer to work alone, I do not mind working on a group I can also be a team
player and gaining self- awareness.
8. When I did the type focus assignment some field that the personality code
matches me are health and teaching but being organized and practical open the
door to a career as a librarian or office manager. It also says that whatever career
I will choose it will always focus on helping people. This is very true. I love helping
people hence the career that I am going for is nursing. Helping others and making
a difference is what I want to do. One specialty that I want is acute care pediatrics
or trauma. I know how to be a team player. Being a team player is the one I
discovered about myself. Before I am used to work on my own but when I got a job
at the hospital I love working with my team. It makes the job way easy. I learned
to become more adaptive, I learned to focus more on my goals, I also learned to
delegate and more compassionate.
9. This is what I picture myself in the
future. A family with fur babies.
We live in a farmhouse.
10. My career is pediatric nurse.
I hope after I get my BSN I will
advance my education and be either
a Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthetist (CRNA) of Family
Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
