Jami enjoyed assignments that helped her learn practical information, like resources in the community from the scavenger hunt. She also liked the financial aid quiz that improved her understanding of this important topic. Her favorite was the service learning project, as it allowed her to experience working in a classroom firsthand, which aligns with her dream career in early childhood education.
2. Scavenger Hunt- I liked this assignment because it helped me learn more
about Grayson. I was able to find resources that could assist me in the
future. I also liked this assignment because I could keep that information
and I would know who to contact for whatever I needed.
Financial Aid quiz- I feel like this assignment helped me better
understand Financial Aid. I would not have known a lot of things about it
without doing this assignment. I feel like it better prepared me for
applying again.
Service Learning Project- I loved this assignment the most because I got to
do what my dream is. I was able to observe and help in an actual
classroom. I was hands on with students learning and experiencing a
classroom setting from a teacher’s view.
My Top Three Favorite Assignments
3. My Top Three Favorite Journals
Chapter 4 Journal Entry 13- I liked this journal because I was able to see on
paper what I am doing with my time. It helped get an idea of things that I
could change or do at a different time. I was able to use this entry in my
daily life at work as well.
Chapter 5 Journal Entry 17- This journal helped remind me of my support
system. I was able to stop and think about ways I could devote more time to
my studies and school. I realized there was more that could wait so that I
could put more effort into being the best student I can be.
Chapter 8 Journal Entry 29- This journal was my most favorite because I was
able to recall memories of the birth of my son. I got the chance to explain in
detail of some of the emotions I experienced at that time. I felt a lot of
emotion and it reminded me of how special that day was for me.
4. I really liked Module 2, Learning Objectives. I liked it a lot because It
talked about self-responsibility. I feel like as a college student the only
person that wants me to graduate the most is myself. I am the only one
that will be staying up late to finish studying for a test. My family and
friends are not the ones cramming in study time on my lunch break at
work. I am doing these things. I am responsible for my outcome in
college. My professors want me to succeed, but they are not going to
read me the chapters or take the exams for me. All of the responsibility
comes back on myself. I have gotten this far. I want a better life and a
career that I can be happy everyday. I have to hold my self accountable
to achieve those things. I feel like this module helped me realize this
reality.

_66__7. Developing emotional intelligence
_62__8. Believing in myself
After taking the self-assessment
after the course my personal
responsibility score actually went
down. I think this result is due to
the fact that I was more honest
with my self taking the
assessment a second time. I had
been through the whole course
and experience what I was
actually able to accomplish. I
think the score is an example of
honesty with myself.
