Concentration Camp Monologue
All Clear! I knew this day would come, I would have the same fate as my momma and papa, starving and only having each other in the concentration
camp. The only difference is, I'm all alone. Why did I think he would protect me, he was a christian, and I'm a jew. Only the Nazis would come after
me. Now, more than ever I've wanted to see my momma papa, is the afterlife the only way I'll see them? I don't want to live like this... should I even
live at all? "You need anything, uhh.. What is your name again?" "It's Caraline" I slightly roll my eyes, I don't want to be rude staying in his parents
house. "Well Caraline," he puts up his fingers as if he's mocking me, "Do you want anything?" "Water... Please." Peter begins jumping back up the
stairs like a ludacris elephant, "Is this seriously how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All I could see was the green of the 2 Nazi uniforms. I didn't want to lose Caraline, not like this. I know we haven't known each other for long but I
would be lost without her, I feel like I've known her for years, earlier today, I knew her name, I mocked her and maybe made her think I didn't like her,
but of course I did, I fell down the stairs and it made her laugh, it made me smile. I would fall down a flight of stairs if that would make her happy. I'd
do anything for her to smile. But if she is gone, then I'll never see her again, I try to seem as if I wasn't panicking. I wipe the sweat from my forehead
and, clunk, I hit my arm on the side of the boat. "They didn't hear it." I think trying to calm myself, but that's when they looked up. "Come here boy."
one of them scoffed. What do I do? What do I say? Do I obey? I panic. "Caraline, I'm only asking you once, be quiet and hide over there!" And that's
when she got angry... Caraline "Why! Why should I?" I scream as if my whole life depended on it, "I don't want to stay here, why should I have to
hide?!" And then I turn my head where peter pointed.

Garden Slugs For Research Paper
No matter whether you're a vegetable gardener or you love to plant flowers, one of your biggest pests is probably garden slugs. Slugs look like snails
without the shells. They slime their way along either in the early morning or in the evening when everything is covered with dew. They also come out
after a rain to look for plants to feed on. If you let slugs get in your gardens, they'll soon take over, and you can then kiss your Asters good–bye. Before
that happens, when you first spot one of these voracious eaters, learn some easy–to–use homemade remedies to get rid of bothersome garden slugs! 1.
Table Salt is a Slug's Enemy Just like garden slugs are enemies to our garden plants, table salt spells "a–d–i–o–s" to these pests. Simply sprinkle ...

Oh, there are usually the typical few hosta varieties, some heucheras, ferns and a few astilbe varieties available at most local garden shops. Most people
all over the country have local access to these plants, but for unique and stunning specimen plants, sometimes we have to search far afield. Many of the
small companies that have some very rare varieties of native or hybridized shade plants don't have big advertising budgets, but these are often the best
sources for plants that can really make a garden exquisite. California is lucky in having quite a few smaller nurseries that have propagated some rare
and very beautiful shade–loving perennials and offer them for sale to the public, either by mail order or by direct sales.

Analyzing The Psychological And Emotional Experiences Held...
Drawing on the information and researched gathered using ethnographic data, in groups we have progressed from choosing between a hardware and
scenario, refining the chosen scenario and creating concepts to find a solution to the problems that have come up from the research on our scenario
context, documenting the journey to our refined context and concepts. Further development and refinement of a concept is necessary in order to test and
evolve it. This report discusses the psychological and emotional experiences held by commuters on trains. Various methods of observation and readings
have been employed into refining the context of our research and exploring different avenues in order to quantify our knowledge of Ethnographic Data
to get to the concepts.
Ethnography is the study of cultural and social phenomena. It's is described by Brian Hoey as something "equated with virtually any qualitative
research project (e.g., see Research Gateway) where the intent is to provide a detailed, in–depth description of everyday life and practice." The multiple
ways of gathering data are; observing a group in their natural environment and habitual tendencies, video, questionnaires, interviews, photographs and
many more. Categorising and presenting the data could be in the form of quantitative or qualitative data; quantitative being things that can be measured
in numerical values and descriptions while qualitative goes into details, mostly observed and not measured dealing with

St. Paul's Short Story: Fallen Angels
When she stands above the dome of St Paul's Cathedral it brings her comfort. Knowing that she can see everything around her made her feel in control
for just a few measly moments, allowing her to breathe. In her line of work, there is never enough time to stop, look around or think. No time to reflect
on her actions. It becomes constricting. Night was starting to fall as she finally climbed down the whitewashed walls of the landmark. She never missed
the feeling of rough stone rubbing against her hands as she grabbed onto cracks, holes, and ledges in order to reach the ground, though she loved to
climb. It acted as a somewhat cathartic release from her usual activities. As a child she would climb trees when her parents scolded her then, as she
grew older, she started scaling buildings. After climbing halfway she found a ledge with a mass of leaves conveniently piled right below. A smirk found
itself to her pale face as she leapt straight into the heap, revelling in the sensation of the air as she plummeted back down to Earth. After a few seconds
of making sure no one was around, she emerged from the colourful assortment of foliage and found herself in a park opposite a bank. By now the sky ...

Descriptive Speech At The Airport
As soon as my mom, dad, and brother's suitcases rolled into the airport I knew I was in for the adventure of a lifetime. It was 4:00 am and even though I
was exhausted excitement flowed through my body like a river. As we boarded the plane and found our seats I heard the captain's microphone come on
"Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking we like to welcome you onboard Delta airline flight to Dallas Fort Worth. The flight duration is
around two hours and we are expecting a fairly smooth flight today. Once again we thank you for choosing to fly with us and we hope you enjoy your
flight" My eyes shut as soon as the wheels left the ground. I woke up to a jolt and the captain saying, "Welcome to Dallas Fort Worth! It is partly cloudy
and around 82 degrees. Thank you for choosing Delta and on behalf of the crew we hope you enjoy your stay." As soon as we entered the airport we
were already on our way to the next gate. It was jam packed with people who all appeared to be in a rush to board their flights. We waited for about half
an hour and then boarded our next flight; this time the destination was Maui Hawaii. This flight lasted 8 hours and little did I know, it would be the
longest 8 hours of my entire life. After what felt like ages, we had finally reached Maui. I opened up my window on the plane and the view was
absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful green land, rolling mountains, and gorgeous blue water covered the island. As we landed and entered the

Mikey eating gave him the answer to his question. Mikey knew this could be all a trap, but yet who was he to give up free pizza? "Sooo" Mikey ask

unabashedly ambitious, taboo and/or hubristic nature of our experiments. Mad Scientist might be villainous, neutral; may be insane, eccentric, or
clumsy; and often works with fictional technology or fails to recognize or value common human objections to attempting to reach their goal". Nobu

weeks, the population of 7 billion people filling the earth went to 3 billion. Nearly 60% of the people were wiped out. People died in many different

Five Walt Whitman poems. Metaphors, diction, syntax, form,...
Walt Whitman's poetry is relatively formless and his random patterns have a significant effect on the meaning evoked from the poems. Whitman has a
constant theme of the link between nature/natural experience and humans. He expresses his emotions and opinions through his poems. Some of his
poems are very personable, which makes them very easier to understand and more enjoyable to read. "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" is a poem about the
sharing of experiences. All humans are somehow connected through the common experiences they encounter. It has no rhyme scheme or form and it is

resulting flood caused four deaths and destroyed most of the park, including three natural springs and three bridges. The damage was estimated at over

Colorado Springs. They were not the springs which were destroyed in the flood, but generally refer to springs either in nearby Manitou Springs or
Monument. There is one aboveground spring in the park, although it has been capped. It is located not far from the 13 Colonies Grove and is named
Tahama Springs after Zebulon Pike's guide and friend, a Sioux chief. The trails adjacent to Monument Creek were regularly used by native animals and
people, well before the first Europeans arrived on the scene. Later, this was one of the first trails followed by early European explorers and fur trappers.
Zebulon Pike followed the waters of Fountain Creek and its tributary, Monument Creek, north from Pueblo to what is now Colorado Springs in 1806.

Where have the Children Gone?
Darkness descended, the fog drifted through the dark streets and a chilling wind whistles pass the sleeping homes; the street of old houses looked dull
and unwelcoming, an eerie presence had settled in. The old woman walked leisurely to the top of the street, she held her cane firmly in her old dark and
aged hand, she hit the ground twice. The hollow sound echoed around like a tremor. She then used it to take her weight. Her bulged eyes scanned the
darkness as the fog crept in, it was then she saw a black mass forming into the figure of a man, they walked closer. The tall figure, he was dressed in an
old black suit, his old pale featureless face appeared from the darkness, he stood motionless. She acknowledged his presence as he knelt on his cane and
she saw the golden handle, she looked up and he took off his hat and acknowledged her in a deep yet strong voice. "Welcome," "I heard your calling,
the children are waiting," Said the woman, "Time has come; paths shall now cross as they come to seek the truth. However, he shall also rise," "There is
talk around town; but no one has worked out what's happening," "They will, Whittle has already begun piecing the clues together; everything shall
become clear as the innocent returns. The diary is hidden, if he finds it the children shall progress," Said the man "I understand, my duty is the
children," she hesitates looking down then up, "What about me?" asked the Woman nervously, yet she knew the answer, but she had to know.

Descriptive Essay About Stress
Memoir Assignment Utter bewilderment fills those curious about the past, but the ones who make an attempt to relate it to the future; are the ones who
possess a blessing, yet a curse. Those who wonder about the future have all experienced one thing; stress. Stress is present in all life, including mine,
but the feeling is much more potent in some than others. It is taken upon my soul to hate when others make assumptions about my personal stress,
without knowing the cause... which has occurred from the time I stepped on this planet. Personally speaking, stress is not present in my life for the
reasons many might think, such as school and homework. The ones who assume those things about myself have only etched my bare surface. Lost in
my thoughts, I slammed the door behind me, as I exited my home and waved over to my friend who stood in my driveway; patiently waiting with his
loving german shepherd. I skipped along the yellow brick pathway: laid by the previous owners, and then onto the main street, accompanied by my
friend or otherwise known as the boy next door. His grandmother lives across the street from me in a luxurious, stone home, concealed in pine trees, as
he then visits me when he is at his grandfather's. The regular street is surrounded by expensive homes with impeccable gardening. My favorite of which
is a house with an intricate fountain in the middle of the driveway, as it reminds me of a past neighbor I had that I was quite fond of. I have grown quite

Conformity and Obedience Essays
Conformity and Obedience Why do we conform? Two basic sources of influence: normative social influence, the need to be liked, accepted by others
and Informational influence: need to be correct and to behave in accordance with reality. Solomon Asch (1956) devised an experiment to see if subjects
would conform even if they were uncertain that the group norm was incorrect. In his study he asked subjects to take part in an experiment. They were
each asked to match a standard length line with three other lines. He found that one of the situational factors of conformity is the size of the opposing
majority. In a series of studies he varied the number of confederates that gave correct answers from 1 –15. He found that subjects conformed ... Show

Moscovici found that consistency in the minority was important in winning over the majority with respect to the colour of the slides. Not all decisions
are made from a majority influence. For example, the suffragettes started a movement in 1920 which changed the public and private opinion allowing
women to have the right to vote in western society. As long as a minority stick by four basic rules then they stand a good chance of succeeding in their
campaign. They need to be Consistent in their views, Flexible not too rigid in their views, Committed to the cause until it's heard and Relevant, they
have more chance of being influential if their views are in line with social trends. Another experiment that psychologists use in respect of conformity
and obedience is an experiment that was carried out by a psychologist named Stanley Milgram. He recruited 40 male participants by advertising for
volunteers to take part in a study to see how punishment affects learning. The study was to take place at Yale University and everyone would be paid
the same rate of $4.50 and they were informed that they would still get paid if they quit during the study. There were two confederates one an
experimenter and the other a learner. The participants were always the teacher. The teacher was placed with the psychologist in one room and the
learner in

Short Speech On Hooligans
Hooligan as an honorary title I. Intro Bandido, insurekto, pilibustero, erehe... hooligans. These are the labels attributed to those who unwaveringly
struggle for change. From the time of the campaign to end the very imperial domination of Spanish until to this present time of the so called
independent republic, people who struggle for change are considered as terrorists, rebels, now.. hooligan. What does the word "hooligan" reminds you?
It brings back the picture of group of activists who throw crumpled papers to Abad and shouting that he's a thief. These are the so called "enemies of the
university" as the 23 UP Econ profs unjustly and unfairly referred to. It also brings back the heckling of PNoy in Columbia University by couple of
FilAm activists. The hooligan word makes you remember those people who were referred by mass media as "uncivilized" and "uneducated". II.

motivation is the belief that someday, through continued and vigilant struggle, this very system of corrupt governance will finally put into to death...
Now, the "hooligan" word as they describe them is not a shameful term! It is an honorary title, a badge of honor... You may not know the names of
those so called "hooligans" but as one writer aptly put it: "They will be remembered as being brave, resolute, and committed scholars. The people will

Comparing Blessing And An Old Woman
Analysing Blessing and An Old Woman
Poetry from other Cultures
Question 2
Culture means the beliefs, traditions, and customs of people within a society. Fundamental aspects of a culture are faith, values, and history. People that
share a culture also share its beliefs and ways of life, which are different to others. Poetry is an effective way of describing and exploring a culture, and
events within it, because certain aspects can be expressed with vivid descriptions, and imagery that would be unsuitable in other types of text. Some
cultures have also used poetry as a form of storytelling, describing events that happened to their ancestors, or even themselves. Poems can be concise
and leave some details to the imagination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water is described as being sacred and is referred to as a 'sudden rush of fortune' when the pipe bursts, showering the residents with it's contents. The
poem is also related to religion, with references to 'a kindly god' and the 'blessing' that it brings, and it is also based on poverty, community, and
celebration. The poem opens with a strong statement in the first line. 'The skin cracks like a pod'. This uses a simile to describes the hard, dirty, dusty
ground cracking open from lack of water, by comparing it to the very different image of a ripe, luscious green pea pod splitting open to reveal its moist,
juicy contents. Onomatopoeia is used in 'crack' to emphasise the meaning and make the descriptions seem real. The second line, 'There is never enough
water' tells the reader that it is obviously in a place of poverty, or where the weather is always very hot. The second stanza has a very different tone to
the direct, strong opening. It is soft, and gentle and describes 'the small splash' of water which is so rare to the town and community within it. The
metaphor in lines 4–6 describes the water's 'echo in a tin mug' as sounding like 'the voice of a kindly god', this helps the reader to visualise small drops
of water splashing into a mug, producing a sound

During the early 1960's, Elijah Muhammad became known as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and was well on the way to establishing governmental
order for black people. He always showed tremendous love for the black community.
IN 1974, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad completed a 40 year period (1934–1974). The year 1934 , represents the time in which he was left on his
own by Master Fard Muhammad. The completion of this period climaxed a historic Saviors' Day address, when he spoke on "The Black God."

MINISTER LOUIS FARRAKHAN
As a boy, his mother would give him the CRISIS MAGAZINE (an NAACP publication) to read as well as the black newspapers that were available.
His mother, being a very dark and beautiful woman, wanted him to have a healthy respect and love for black people.
Many times as a young child he would cry himself to sleep after hearing his mother and her friends talk about the plight of black people. He remembers
how he would lay on the floor, looking up at the blue sky, asking God," why he would send help to other people and not to the black people in
America?" One day when Minister Farrakhan was eleven years old, he visited his uncle in New York City and he saw a picture of a black man on the
wall of his uncle's apartment, which was something very strange in the forties. He asked

Thesis Statement For Starbucks
The smell of fresh–brewed Starbucks coffee is one of those things that makes my heart beat faster than usuakprobably because it promises other good
things in the air: lively conversation, pleasant thoughts and inspiring music. When I go to Starbucks I usually stand in a long line waiting for people to
finish their complicated orders, and then when it's my turn I order a short (small) Iced Single Venti Mocha. Just the taste of the Mocha in my mouth
shows that I'm a happy costumer. Starbucks coffee has become an important part of our lives. Its logo, known as Siren, is widely recognized and can be
found in places from California to China. It is used in movies, and celebrities are often pictured with this coffee in their hands. This product placement
has become a form of free advertising for Starbucks and the popularity of this brand has benefited drastically from it. Starbucks has become more than
just a symbol of a great cup of coffee; it is a product that symbolizes the global success of the Starbucks brand and the importance of the social nature

What Makes A Parade Day Failure?
Parade Day Failure "Boom, Crash, Pow." The bright red numbers on my alarm read 6:30 AM. Awake a half hour early, "thank you, thunder." Pushing

through the kitchen trying my best not to waken anyone. Opening the front door, a breeze of wind greets me, the wind nearly knocks me over. My eyes
glance towards the sky; the color looks dreadful, a green, black and grey combination. I spot my dad's teal, Dodge truck and bolt. The cold rain attacks
me. By the time I sit inside, my clothes stick to my skin like glue. The wetness of my clothes against my skin makes me uncomfortable and itchy. "I
probably should not drive in this." I turn onto Highway 12 and immediate flashes of lightning strike down to the ground in the far distance, and the rain
pounds against the windshield aggressively. Finally, I arrive at Lexi's. "Well, there is one thing I accomplished today," I jokingly tell myself. I bolt to
the front door, safely making it inside. Moving to the other side of the house, I cautiously move down the stairs, causing my shins to ache. The weight
of my bags only applies more pressure. A short flight of stairs seems like forever. Scanning the room, I find a spot to sit. The

The Problem Of Police Brutality
One of the biggest problem we face today is social injustice, with the biggest cause by Police officers' using excessive force on people, which is called
police brutality for short. Police brutality happens to people of color because they are targeted more, "in the past 2 years 920 people have been
unlawfully murdered by police officer". The insane thing about this is that black people are more than twice likely to be unarmed when killed during
police encounters than whites and within the same report found "blacks to be killed at three times the rate of whites or other minorities. The police
brutality is a troubling problem due to the excessive force of police officers use on people and a major problem that people fail to realize that it is a
growing concern.
The disappointing problem we have right now is that those people who do speak up no one bothers to listen to them until they choose to do drastic
measures to bring awareness to social injustices issues we are currently dealing with. For example, Colin Kaepernick was the first player in the
National Football League history to take a knee during the National Anthem to bring awareness to the social injustice. Colin Kaepernick got extreme
backlash from people with his peaceful protest with death threats and being blackballed (like blackmail but with sports) and by the NFL. Colin
Kaepernick stated the following in response for the criticism he is currently dealing with, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag

way to the bottom of the stairs crying. He just looked at me with the most blank stare. He looked like he hadn't slept in a week. His brown hair was in
knots. I guess he left the bar earlier tonight. Then the man started to walk down the stairs just looking at me. I stood up and slowly walked backwards.
Then I ran around to the back of the kitchen yelling, "Harvey! Harvey! Harvey!" Suddenly my dog bolts out of my bedroom and nocks the man down
the stairs. Harvey ran on top of him, and over to me. We stood there for a couple of seconds and looked at the drunk man laying on the ground. "Love
you dad." I said softly. Suddenly I looked in corner of my eye. There was mom. Sitting there with a magazine in her hand. Looking older and older
everyday. She looked at me. Then went back to reading here magazine. Pretending nothing happened. I grabbed my backpack, and ran out of the house
with Harvey. We ran for about an hour straight to know where. I felt the bruises in my body hurt more and more for every time my foot touched the
ground, but I just kept on running. I couldn't stop crying. All of my emotions where running out of my body like a water fall. Suddenly we found a
park. I could

The R–Codes specifies minimum and average lot areas, or plot ratios for each density code (i.e. R20, R30, R40 etc.). Local planning schemes then
apply a density coding to residential zoned land which is used to control the subdivision and development of land.
To ensure clear scope for scheme objectives to influence the assessment of proposals. To ensure certainty in timely assessment and determination of
proposals applied consistently across State and local government.
The WAPC has prepared the explanatory guidelines on the matters addressed in the R–Codes, in consultation with decision–makers and relevant
stakeholders, to provide guidance and assist interpretation and assessment of proposals against the design principles and/or deemed–to–comply
provisions of the R–Codes.
In addition to meeting lot size requirements, the Residential Design Codes specify other requirements relating to lot design, setbacks, driveways, open

Descriptive Essay : Karate Floor
Since the tender age of 9, my parents dropped me off at Karate America to take Karate lessons. I knew it was where I belonged the moment I step foot
onto their "Karate floor", which was 8 wrestling mats sprawled across the ground. I was always discouraged to do other sports, I could never throw,
catch, or run as well as all the other kids, but I found solace on the Karate floor. Here, it wasn 't about whether or not you could throw, the only thing
that mattered is if you gave it your all. Karate became one of the few sports I stuck with and I progressed with hard work and as much dedication as a
nine year old could give beginning with nothing and progressing to a White belt, to Green, to Yellow, to Orange, to Purple, to Blue, to Red, and ... Show

The stories were much funnier when there wasn 't a possibility of them happening to me.
Up against the wall us students sat, silent and at attention like the finest soldiers. Five figures draped in robes tied on with black belts stood across the
room from us, their icy gaze loomed over us and sent chills down our spines. There was one Instructor who stood out the most, a short, bald man of
color who I've heard older karate students tell stories about. Master Griggs. He was the only one who held the title of "Master", and he is named
rightfully so. He had a black sash in Tai Chi, knew how to Judo flip people, and on top of that he was a seventh degree black belt.
What chance would I have against him? He can break someone 's ribs just by looking at them. I can't even break a stick over my knee...
"Reese , please stand up," one of the Instructors broke the silence. Every head in the room turned in the direction of the first contender sitting on the
very end of our line. His face turned the color of computer paper in a fraction of a second, and he held an expression of fear.
The ominous silence resumed once again.
Reese stood up and began to strap on his sparring gear, which consisted of a helmet, gloves, and a chest guard that looked like a padded WWE
wrestling belt. He began to walk slowly to the middle of the room, and he then stood face to face with our youngest Instructor Mr. Klein.
In a normal sparring match, both opponents would bow

Concentration Camp Monologue

  • 1. Concentration Camp Monologue All Clear! I knew this day would come, I would have the same fate as my momma and papa, starving and only having each other in the concentration camp. The only difference is, I'm all alone. Why did I think he would protect me, he was a christian, and I'm a jew. Only the Nazis would come after me. Now, more than ever I've wanted to see my momma papa, is the afterlife the only way I'll see them? I don't want to live like this... should I even live at all? "You need anything, uhh.. What is your name again?" "It's Caraline" I slightly roll my eyes, I don't want to be rude staying in his parents house. "Well Caraline," he puts up his fingers as if he's mocking me, "Do you want anything?" "Water... Please." Peter begins jumping back up the stairs like a ludacris elephant, "Is this seriously how ... I know we haven't known each other for long but I would be lost without her, I feel like I've known her for years, earlier today, I knew her name, I mocked her and maybe made her think I didn't like her, but of course I did, I fell down the stairs and it made her laugh, it made me smile. I would fall down a flight of stairs if that would make her happy. I'd do anything for her to smile. But if she is gone, then I'll never see her again, I try to seem as if I wasn't panicking. I wipe the sweat from my forehead and, clunk, I hit my arm on the side of the boat. "They didn't hear it." I think trying to calm myself, but that's when they looked up. "Come here boy." one of them scoffed. What do I do? What do I say? Do I obey? I panic. "Caraline, I'm only asking you once, be quiet and hide over there!" And that's when she got angry... Caraline "Why! Why should I?" I scream as if my whole life depended on it, "I don't want to stay here, why should I have to hide?!" And then I turn my head where peter pointed. ... • 3. Garden Slugs For Research Paper No matter whether you're a vegetable gardener or you love to plant flowers, one of your biggest pests is probably garden slugs. Slugs look like snails without the shells. They slime their way along either in the early morning or in the evening when everything is covered with dew. They also come out after a rain to look for plants to feed on. If you let slugs get in your gardens, they'll soon take over, and you can then kiss your Asters good–bye. Before that happens, when you first spot one of these voracious eaters, learn some easy–to–use homemade remedies to get rid of bothersome garden slugs! 1. Table Salt is a Slug's Enemy Just like garden slugs are enemies to our garden plants, table salt spells "a–d–i–o–s" to these pests. Simply sprinkle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oh, there are usually the typical few hosta varieties, some heucheras, ferns and a few astilbe varieties available at most local garden shops. Most people all over the country have local access to these plants, but for unique and stunning specimen plants, sometimes we have to search far afield. Many of the small companies that have some very rare varieties of native or hybridized shade plants don't have big advertising budgets, but these are often the best sources for plants that can really make a garden exquisite. California is lucky in having quite a few smaller nurseries that have propagated some rare and very beautiful shade–loving perennials and offer them for sale to the public, either by mail order or by direct sales. http://www.diggingdog.com/pages2/plantsshade.php p.o. box 471 Albion, CA 95410 (707) 937–1130 The people at Digging Dog Nursery have made hunting for shade plants online into a wonderful experience. Drawing on the information and researched gathered using ethnographic data, in groups we have progressed from choosing between a hardware and scenario, refining the chosen scenario and creating concepts to find a solution to the problems that have come up from the research on our scenario context, documenting the journey to our refined context and concepts. Further development and refinement of a concept is necessary in order to test and evolve it. This report discusses the psychological and emotional experiences held by commuters on trains. Ethnography is the study of cultural and social phenomena. It's is described by Brian Hoey as something "equated with virtually any qualitative research project (e.g., see Research Gateway) where the intent is to provide a detailed, in–depth description of everyday life and practice." The multiple ways of gathering data are; observing a group in their natural environment and habitual tendencies, video, questionnaires, interviews, photographs and many more. Knowing that she can see everything around her made her feel in control for just a few measly moments, allowing her to breathe. In her line of work, there is never enough time to stop, look around or think. No time to reflect on her actions. It becomes constricting. Night was starting to fall as she finally climbed down the whitewashed walls of the landmark. She never missed the feeling of rough stone rubbing against her hands as she grabbed onto cracks, holes, and ledges in order to reach the ground, though she loved to climb. It acted as a somewhat cathartic release from her usual activities. As a child she would climb trees when her parents scolded her then, as she grew older, she started scaling buildings. After climbing halfway she found a ledge with a mass of leaves conveniently piled right below. A smirk found itself to her pale face as she leapt straight into the heap, revelling in the sensation of the air as she plummeted back down to Earth. It was 4:00 am and even though I was exhausted excitement flowed through my body like a river. As we boarded the plane and found our seats I heard the captain's microphone come on "Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking we like to welcome you onboard Delta airline flight to Dallas Fort Worth. The flight duration is around two hours and we are expecting a fairly smooth flight today. Once again we thank you for choosing to fly with us and we hope you enjoy your flight" My eyes shut as soon as the wheels left the ground. I woke up to a jolt and the captain saying, "Welcome to Dallas Fort Worth! It is partly cloudy and around 82 degrees. Thank you for choosing Delta and on behalf of the crew we hope you enjoy your stay." As soon as we entered the airport we were already on our way to the next gate. It was jam packed with people who all appeared to be in a rush to board their flights. We waited for about half an hour and then boarded our next flight; this time the destination was Maui Hawaii. This flight lasted 8 hours and little did I know, it would be the longest 8 hours of my entire life. After what felt like ages, we had finally reached Maui. I opened up my window on the plane and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful green land, rolling mountains, and gorgeous blue water covered the island. As we landed and entered the ... Mikey was snap out of his thoughts as he smelt the scent of his life and soul in the air. Now he thought about it, he didn't get the chance to eat lunch. A loud growl from Mikey's stomach told the Scientist his answer. A deep but relaxing laughter come out the nameless man as he hand the box of pizza to Mikey. " I believe this is your favorite place to get pizza, am I correct"? Again the sight of Mikey eating gave him the answer to his question. Mikey knew this could be all a trap, but yet who was he to give up free pizza? "Sooo" Mikey ask with a mouth full of cheese pizza. "Tell me about well everything". The man nods as he puts on glasses and sits down on a chair. " My name is Prosser Nobu. I am 32 years old and I am a Mad Scientist if you can say." Mikey chokes on his pizza his bit as he looks at Nobu. " S–So you are evil"! Mikey says as he points to man in front of him. He knew it! It was a trap! Nobu laughs once again as he shakes his head. " The definition mad scientist can be different. For example most people described us as "mad" or "insane" owing to a combination of unusual or unsettling personality traits and the unabashedly ambitious, taboo and/or hubristic nature of our experiments. Walt Whitman's poetry is relatively formless and his random patterns have a significant effect on the meaning evoked from the poems. Whitman has a constant theme of the link between nature/natural experience and humans. He expresses his emotions and opinions through his poems. Some of his poems are very personable, which makes them very easier to understand and more enjoyable to read. "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" is a poem about the sharing of experiences. All humans are somehow connected through the common experiences they encounter. It has no rhyme scheme or form and it is end–stopped. 1 Flood–tide below me! I see you face to face! Darkness descended, the fog drifted through the dark streets and a chilling wind whistles pass the sleeping homes; the street of old houses looked dull and unwelcoming, an eerie presence had settled in. The old woman walked leisurely to the top of the street, she held her cane firmly in her old dark and aged hand, she hit the ground twice. The hollow sound echoed around like a tremor. She then used it to take her weight. Her bulged eyes scanned the darkness as the fog crept in, it was then she saw a black mass forming into the figure of a man, they walked closer. The tall figure, he was dressed in an old black suit, his old pale featureless face appeared from the darkness, he stood motionless. She acknowledged his presence as he knelt on his cane and she saw the golden handle, she looked up and he took off his hat and acknowledged her in a deep yet strong voice. "Welcome," "I heard your calling, the children are waiting," Said the woman, "Time has come; paths shall now cross as they come to seek the truth. However, he shall also rise," "There is talk around town; but no one has worked out what's happening," "They will, Whittle has already begun piecing the clues together; everything shall become clear as the innocent returns. The diary is hidden, if he finds it the children shall progress," Said the man "I understand, my duty is the children," she hesitates looking down then up, "What about me?" asked the Woman nervously, yet she knew the answer, but she had to know. ... Descriptive Essay About Stress Memoir Assignment Utter bewilderment fills those curious about the past, but the ones who make an attempt to relate it to the future; are the ones who possess a blessing, yet a curse. Those who wonder about the future have all experienced one thing; stress. Stress is present in all life, including mine, but the feeling is much more potent in some than others. It is taken upon my soul to hate when others make assumptions about my personal stress, without knowing the cause... which has occurred from the time I stepped on this planet. Personally speaking, stress is not present in my life for the reasons many might think, such as school and homework. The ones who assume those things about myself have only etched my bare surface. Lost in my thoughts, I slammed the door behind me, as I exited my home and waved over to my friend who stood in my driveway; patiently waiting with his loving german shepherd. I skipped along the yellow brick pathway: laid by the previous owners, and then onto the main street, accompanied by my friend or otherwise known as the boy next door. His grandmother lives across the street from me in a luxurious, stone home, concealed in pine trees, as he then visits me when he is at his grandfather's. The regular street is surrounded by expensive homes with impeccable gardening. • 35. Conformity and Obedience Essays Conformity and Obedience Why do we conform? Two basic sources of influence: normative social influence, the need to be liked, accepted by others and Informational influence: need to be correct and to behave in accordance with reality. Solomon Asch (1956) devised an experiment to see if subjects would conform even if they were uncertain that the group norm was incorrect. In his study he asked subjects to take part in an experiment. They were each asked to match a standard length line with three other lines. He found that one of the situational factors of conformity is the size of the opposing majority. In a series of studies he varied the number of confederates that gave correct answers from 1 –15. He found that subjects conformed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moscovici found that consistency in the minority was important in winning over the majority with respect to the colour of the slides. Not all decisions are made from a majority influence. For example, the suffragettes started a movement in 1920 which changed the public and private opinion allowing women to have the right to vote in western society. As long as a minority stick by four basic rules then they stand a good chance of succeeding in their campaign. They need to be Consistent in their views, Flexible not too rigid in their views, Committed to the cause until it's heard and Relevant, they have more chance of being influential if their views are in line with social trends. Another experiment that psychologists use in respect of conformity and obedience is an experiment that was carried out by a psychologist named Stanley Milgram. He recruited 40 male participants by advertising for volunteers to take part in a study to see how punishment affects learning. The study was to take place at Yale University and everyone would be paid the same rate of $4.50 and they were informed that they would still get paid if they quit during the study. There were two confederates one an experimenter and the other a learner. The participants were always the teacher. The teacher was placed with the psychologist in one room and the learner in ... Fundamental aspects of a culture are faith, values, and history. People that share a culture also share its beliefs and ways of life, which are different to others. Poetry is an effective way of describing and exploring a culture, and events within it, because certain aspects can be expressed with vivid descriptions, and imagery that would be unsuitable in other types of text. Water is described as being sacred and is referred to as a 'sudden rush of fortune' when the pipe bursts, showering the residents with it's contents. The poem is also related to religion, with references to 'a kindly god' and the 'blessing' that it brings, and it is also based on poverty, community, and celebration. The poem opens with a strong statement in the first line. 'The skin cracks like a pod'. This uses a simile to describes the hard, dirty, dusty ground cracking open from lack of water, by comparing it to the very different image of a ripe, luscious green pea pod splitting open to reveal its moist, juicy contents. Onomatopoeia is used in 'crack' to emphasise the meaning and make the descriptions seem real. The second line, 'There is never enough water' tells the reader that it is obviously in a place of poverty, or where the weather is always very hot. The second stanza has a very different tone to the direct, strong opening. It is soft, and gentle and describes 'the small splash' of water which is so rare to the town and community within it. The metaphor in lines 4–6 describes the water's 'echo in a tin mug' as sounding like 'the voice of a kindly god', this helps the reader to visualise small drops of water splashing into a mug, producing a sound ... • 72. The Problem Of Police Brutality One of the biggest problem we face today is social injustice, with the biggest cause by Police officers' using excessive force on people, which is called police brutality for short. Police brutality happens to people of color because they are targeted more, "in the past 2 years 920 people have been unlawfully murdered by police officer". The insane thing about this is that black people are more than twice likely to be unarmed when killed during police encounters than whites and within the same report found "blacks to be killed at three times the rate of whites or other minorities. The police brutality is a troubling problem due to the excessive force of police officers use on people and a major problem that people fail to realize that it is a growing concern. The disappointing problem we have right now is that those people who do speak up no one bothers to listen to them until they choose to do drastic measures to bring awareness to social injustices issues we are currently dealing with. For example, Colin Kaepernick was the first player in the National Football League history to take a knee during the National Anthem to bring awareness to the social injustice. Colin Kaepernick got extreme backlash from people with his peaceful protest with death threats and being blackballed (like blackmail but with sports) and by the NFL.
