1. The document describes several processes used to create graphic designs for a skateboard brand, including incorporating brand colors and logos onto templates for skateboard decks, t-shirts, and a website design.
2. Various techniques were used like adjusting opacity, adding borders, logos and fonts to integrate brand elements while keeping the original designs visible.
3. Imagery of artists was also included on some pieces to tie into the brand's themes and target market within the skate and hip hop communities.
2. Process
My first initial idea was going to be based
around a crown. I first found a base image
of a crown which I liked and then I decided
to incorporate the colours green and red
which are my skate brands colours used
throughout my products. I then wanted to
add the brands name on it using my
chosen font from the website ‘da font’
3. Process
This is a skateboard deck product which I created
on photoshop. I first went onto google images and
got a plain wooden skateboard image which I then
experimented with several colour tints and chose
red but I turned the opacity down so that the
wooden effect was still visible. I then added my
brands logo to the top of the skateboard and used
the same method of turning down the opacity so
you could see the wood. I then wanted to include
an image of a reggae artist (Barrington levy) as it
matches my colour theme of gold, red and green. I
chose an image that also uses lots of the same
colour as the board and the other designs I also
used the blur tool to smooth out the image and
blend it into the board. Finally I chose a suitable
font for my brand from the website ‘dafont’ I used
a fany but blocky font and chose for it be in white
as it is easily read infront of any colours
4. Process
The processes which I used to create this skateboard
deck were firstly to think of a theme for it and I chose to
do a collaboration with another brand (Burberry). I first
went onto google images and got the Burberry fabric
pattern and turned the opacity down so that it was more
obvious that it was a board. I then added my brands
crown logo to the top to keep to my own brands theme,
then I used my Brands font and name in white again as it
stands out over every colour on the deck. Finally I got the
Burberry font and added it across the side using the
move tool sizing it to match my own brands name also in
white, using an ‘X’ it links the collaboration together and
looks good on the board.
5. Process
This design is a T-shirt for my brand which
uses lots of colour and some imagery. Firstly
I Found a plain black T-shirt template on
images and put them on Photoshop so that
I could add images etc. I wanted to use an
images of another music artist and I chose
Biggies Smalls as he is a very popular artist
in the skate community and in hip-hop. I
have deliberately chosen an image of him
where he is wearing lots of colour so that it
stands out from the black, I had to use the
blur tool to blend the image into the black
background and the finished version looks
much more professional than before. On
the front of the T-shirt I used My crown
logo around the centre which I though
looked good compared to other locations I
experimented with. I Then added my Brands
name ‘Grande’ in its font just below the
crown in white which looks very eye-
catching and I stands out from the black
tee. Finally I added the Biggie Smalls crown
logo to the back of the tee linking it to my
own crown theme as Biggie is considered
the king of hip-hop.
6. Process
This is my skateboard website design which I
created on Photoshop using a range of
methods to make it look professional. Firstly I
found an image of an impressive and a visually
pleasing image that draws you in. I used the
contrast tool to make the sunlight at the front
brighter which lights up the skater doing the
trick. I next created a top and bottom border
using my chosen colours of red, gold and green
making the image in the centre stand out
more. I added my logo to the top left as I
thought that it looked better there than the
centre and it allowed me to add my brand
name across the top which was not possible
before. I then added the navigation bar at the
bottom as it makes you glance through the
products and other details of the website
before you are to go onto another page. I
finally added my skateboard designs to the
website using a white background with the
opacity turned slightly down so you can see
the image behind. I also used a gold border for
this to keep to my royal theme. Finally to add
some more detail I chose to put my crown logo
on the skater making it look like he is wearing
it.
7. Reflection
I found that when creating my products I thought it was easy as I planned what I wanted to make before so that
when it came to making the final products it was straight forward on what I needed to do and I was able to
complete the production work relatively fast as my ideas were already planned beforehand. Overall my
products link with the same theme of colour, imagery and branding.
