God Will Find A Way Of God
No matter what path one chooses to follow in life, God will find a way to inflict punishment. One
can disobey his words as Adam and Eve choose to, commit actions whilom forbidden and in turn
taint mankind, or one can be as devout as Job and have one's entire family slain in the name of a
challenge posed by Satan. One might as well disregard the idea of God in itself if one is to find
naught but chastisement in his or her lifetime. In Hebrew, ‫יהוה‬ (HVH), oft later translated to 'YHVH'
and eventually 'Yahweh,' can be rendered into plethora of things. 'I am that I am;' 'I am who I am;' 'I
will be who I will be;' 'I am;' 'I will be.' HYH means 'to become' in Hebrew; 'become' is futural and
suggests becoming (Brandes FYP Lecture). This is mind, one must think of God as transcendent,
above the natural world – contrary to the Mesopotamian's view of the gods. If the Hebrew God is
'becoming,' how can we as humans, beings on this Earth who are unable to see his face (Exodus
33:20), comprehend his nature? God is an entity who is familiar with naught but ascendency. "God
said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light" (Genesis 1:3) and thusly lays down the law of the land;
"God is the law" (Burke FYP tutorial), what he says gets done. He commands, he does not ask
(Genesis 1:2; Exodus 3:13). He is not to be disputed with, as further shown in Genesis when he
states:
"'I will greatly multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring fourth children' [...] and to
Adam he said,

The Greek God: The Greek God Dionysus
There are many greek Gods. Some greek God's sit in silence but than there are those who have
legendary stories. Then there are some really really lame god's like mine, the god that I was picked to
talk about was the greek God Dionysus. When I was given this God to make a paper about I was not
that thrilled about who I was given, But after doing research I found out that he is kind of one of the
boring ones. But there are a few cool things about him, one of those things are is that he is one of the
sons of Zeus and known to be the God of many things but mostly wine, harvest, pleasure, and
madness. He is known for having a love for festivals as well. The "Dios" part of his name means of
Zeus which is his father, also mixed with another word

Reflection Of God Is God
Chapter One: GOD God is God, no matter how simple that statement is, it is true and always will be.
No one can know God perfectly, He is infinite and no one can wrap their minds around just exactly
who God is. Most of us know about God, but that is quite different from actually knowing God. Our
God is bigger and greater than anything anyone could ever think of. Yet the Bible tells us many
things about God and the way He works that could help us better understand Him. Our God is three
in one, God being three in one is what we call the "Trinity". Trinity is the Christian doctrine that
deals with and also describes the nature of God. In the Trinity, the three persons are God the father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If God is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Trinity is one of the most difficult concepts to comprehend but it seems to be easier if you
recognize the distinction between a "being" and a "person." God is only one being, the one and only
divine being. This divine being exists as three persons, which is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
This is the part where our brains gets confused because each human being is only one person, and it
might seem that every being has to be one person. But that is simply just not always the case. For
example a pet is a being but not a person. A plant is a being and not a person. In these cases, one
being = zero persons. On the other hand an angel is a being and is a person, just like us humans, one
being = one person. Once you realize that not every being is exactly one person it might be easier to
grasp the concept of the Trinity. The Trinity is still a complex mystery, but we do not need to fully
understand it to benefit from it. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit has entered
into our hearts and souls, allowing us to be reconciled to God the father. If you think about almost
every other religion in the world they all seem to know almost everything about their "god" and
what it does and what it stands for. That is why Christians get hit so hard with the question, "Why do
you believe in something you do not completely know is real?". In

Is There A God?
Is there a God or is he just a myth? The world has been searching for God for ages and philosophers
and atheists have debated about this topic. The word God itself is a huge controversy. Is there a God
and if He is there why do we still have evil around, where is He? These are the general questions
asked by man. On the other side atheists would say that there is no God for the universe evolved by
itself and we came into being by accident. But the real question is how can we come into existence
by just "itself" for the word itself does not make sense. In order for the universe to begin or have
been created someone must have exited in the beginning and thus all the others have existed there
after. There is someone with perfection and intelligence for the other natural bodies have acquired
that fraction of qualities. I believe that the word God is just not God it's the supreme power through
which all beings have come to pass. Great Philosophers, Thomas Aquinas, David Hume, St. Anselm
and Karl Rahner, of their time have given their viewpoints on the existence of God being
teleological, oncological and affirmation where St Aquinas has the highest degree of argument on
the existence of God and I affirm Aquinas words on the existence of God.
My first admission in the existence of God is based on Aquinas's argument. Aquinas arguments
demonstrates the existence of God by stating that there are natural things that lack intelligence and
thus do not have a purpose and maybe have the

The Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God is a hidden, but important theme in the New Testament of the Bible. It isn't a
place, but rather a state of being. Jesus spends most of his life living as an example of the Kingdom
of God. Through Jesus' teachings, people begin to understand what it truly means to live in the
Kingdom. This theme is mainly introduced in the gospel of Mark and progresses further in depth
throughout the New Testament. The meaning of the Kingdom of God is found in the words of Jesus
Christ. He provides an insight to the Kingdom and how to be a part of it. Through a more in depth
look, one can find that many factors influence the presence and meaning of the Kingdom of God.
Some factors include, but are not limited to: lifestyle, the Lord's ... Show more content on

God's will must be done to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus makes it known that Christians should
live for God and through God. People should do all things through God to successfully enter the
Kingdom of God. Christians should have joy in all actions completed through God. Whether
volunteering through the church, or helping a friend, do it in the right mindset to please God.
Authority in the Kingdom of God is crucial to being a part of it. Authority is having power over
someone or something, the right to give orders, and enforce obedience. (Webster) With regard to the
Kingdom of God, authority fits into place in a couple categories. First, one must have authority over
Satan and evil to be a part of the Kingdom of God. Having power over Satan is pivotal to God's
Kingdom. Without power over Satan, has someone truly defeated evil? Authority over evil ensures
that no evil enters God's Kingdom. "The major ways we give claim to the Enemy in our lives are
through sin and through making agreements with Satan." (Eldredge) Jesus shows an example of
authority over Satan when he is in the desert. Satan tempts Jesus with many things, but Jesus resists
and conquers Satan with each temptation. He backs each temptation with evidentiary support,
beginning with, "it is written," from the old testament. (The Holy Bible, Matt. 4:1–11). Jesus shows
that authority over Satan is important to the Kingdom of God. Second, authority over

Relationship Between God And God
The relation between nature (phusis) and God (theos) in early Greek philosophy is almost one in the
same. Homer and Hesoid were the first Greek philosophers to make the connection between God
and nature. They made connections to the birth of nature simultaneously being the "birth" of the
gods and thus, forever connecting the two. Homer also gave the idea that Ocean is the creator of all
gods and things in the world which goes with Thales monist worldview of that basic nature was
created by one element, water. For ancient Greek philosophy, gods are seen as everything including
nature and so, nature is divine. As with nature being divine the Greeks not only worship the
supernatural anthropomorphic gods but also nature.
Homer and Hesoid were the first to claim the connection between nature and God as they argued
that the Gods created nature. In Hesoid's work "Theology" he states that all things created have
originated from Gaia (Mother Earth) as she was the first God. After her came Ouranos (Heaven) and
they created the Titians who created the Olympians and Tartaros (Underworld). Hesoid makes the
connection that the three primordial gods all have the names of regions of the physical world (Earth,
Heaven and Underworld) so it is confident to say that the creation of these gods was simultaneously
the creation of the world and so the creation of nature. Homer on the other hand, believed that the
god Ocean was the first who created the gods and nature. Another famous Greek

Is It A God?
Perfection is a godlike attribute in which many strive for, but often many fail. Looking into the way
of Buddha, he has reached this state of perfection and enlightenment on his own, not through a
higher power. In many ways he fulfills the attributes to be a God, though, there are also numerous
differences that do not suggest he is like a God. Buddha is claimed by many to be a teacher of the
Gods. Throughout the teachings of Buddha he thought believing in a higher power is originated
from fear. He wanted people to understand their fears, lessen the desire, and ultimately accept what
cannot be changed. There was no teacher in the knowledge that Buddha obtained, no higher power,
no other source than himself. It is seemingly to be there is no one who claims to be more godless,
yet, be so godlike at the same time. Over the years of people asking Buddha is there was a God, his
answers showed how thinking the belief that there is or isn't a God is equally useless. At one point
when he was talking to a man who believed in Lord Rama, he told the man there was no God. Yet,
later on in his life, it is said when an atheist had approached him and asked if there was a God he
told them there is a God. A leader in a way of life, the Blessed One and all knowing are some of the
godlike qualities that Buddha possess. He is known in many forms of literature and very influential
in worldly religions just like many who are claimed to be God's. Buddha not envious, he is

God : Is God Responsible For Evildoing?
The phrase is God ultimately responsible for evildoing because evildoing is due to the God giving us
free will I believe to be false. I don't think that God is ultimately responsible for evildoing. I will be
arguing that God is not ultimately responsible for evildoing and here is some reason that I believe
this. The first reason that I belive this is I believe that like Augustine that there is no single cause of
evil and that each one of us is responsible for the evil we voluntarily commit. I believe that after
God puts us on this earth he lets us make our own decisions so in turn we are voluntarily responsible
for our own actions. To also go off of Augustine If God is all good then there is no way that an evil
action could go back to him. If he is supposed to be this all powerful and all good he cannot be all
powerful and all good but be responsible for evildoing as well. So, in this argumentative essay I will
talk about how god ultimately responsible for evildoing I will be discussing these points mainly
agreeing with Augustine's argument on the situation. Anything cited will be from chapter 3 of the
fifty readings plus book. In Augustine's argument he is talking to Evodius about what I will be
arguing about. I think that Augustine's points are very well done and he has a nice argument so I will
be branching off of his as well as putting my own spin on the argument because although I believe
that Augustine's points are good I don't want to completely copy him and I would

God 's Speech On God Essay
God gave us the bible so that we can understand rational truths with our mind and know what to
believe. He teaches us how to Worship by painting a picture of the world through his eyes. He
teaches us about ourselves, eternity, why we are here on Earth, and how to know right from wrong
so we can Worship the greatness that is him. God has given us many commands like in Matthew 22:
37–39 to follow but we should take the teaching and understand the relationship that is presented
between us and the Worship of him. God wants us to experience him and his world. By
understanding God's invitation to know him better we learn not only more about him, but more
about ourselves. We learn what sins to avoid, what parts of our lives need to be changed, how we
can love others through him, and what are his plans and purpose for our lives thorough him are. To
Worship becomes lessons on how to live a fulfilled life that we could never accomplish without him
like in Psalm 19: 7–8; and Corinthians 5:17.
Worship must be sincere and selfless. "For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made
the heavens. Honor and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary". Psalms
96:5–6. This illustrates how we must not worship God because of the wealth He possesses. We must
worship him because He is the Lord almighty. Worship is not sincere if it is done to only benefit
your personal wellbeing. It is having a selfless desire deep within ones soul to give up everything to

God Versus The Idea Of God
Do you believe in God? How?
"Nobody likes to be proven wrong and theologians are certainly no exception."
What is your idea when you hear the word "God or gods?" Is God real? Is God not real or merely a
product of human weaknesses? In a January 1954 letter to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, Albert
Einstein (who called himself "a deeply religious nonbeliever") described the idea of God as a
"product of human weakness."
Will you agree with this idea or not? Why? God Vs. The Idea of God elaborates the concept of "is
God real or not?" The church original focus was on less worldly concerns and claims to speak for all
aspects of life in preparation for the kingdom of God. Why does the church is losing its followers?

Harry's prologue captures my interest especially the title "God and Me, a shaky relationship at best."
His experience is a thought–provoking as well as the title in each chapter. I appreciate his

idea of the Christians in the church today.
Harry's church history will also make the reader understand the background of the church and the
way the people of long ago worship gods. They worship gods of the trees, the streams, the storms,

Is God Real?
Have you ever wondered if God exists? Do you have faith and know he's there or just don't believe
in him at all? I believe that God doesn't exist for numerous reasons. There are however, people who
put all of their faith into what they believe in, whether it's one God or many gods and goddesses.
Those who say that God does exist address that he does many good and pure things for people. God
is said to have created everyone equally which is one of the few facts that I cannot argue with
because there is no way to verify or disprove this fact. However, some people who believe in God
say that He decides who lives and who dies. If that is true, then why does God make some good

The Word Of God : God
?And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the
doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all those heard him were astonished at
his understanding and answers.? Luke 2:46–47
The Bible accounts that when God spoke for the first time, Life, in the form of an energy called
light, illuminated the universe. In that moment of time, darkness was the present condition across
the expanse. The darkness could not understand the light and thus fled as God expressed his
sovereign will through the spoken Word. The declaration of His Word brought forth light. This
original light inundated the cosmos with life. Therefore, we conclude that life in the universe exists
by the verbal Word of God. The written word of God, in comparison to the spoken word of God,
first came to men on Mount Sinai when God himself carved with His finger upon tablets of stone.
Moses was the original recipient of the written word. The stone tablets, however, was not the Lord?s
first choice of where to put His Word. His first choice was to speak the Word directly into the hearts
of His covenant people, Israel. Having a unique group of people who embraced His Word in their
hearts was God?s perfect blueprint. However, as Sinai vibrated with the omnipotence of God
speaking, the nation of Israel trembled with fear as they backed away from the voice of the Lord
God. Moses was the only one at that time who drew near to where God was. On the

God Is The Only True God
Everyone's definition of their worldview is different. An area that is a part of someone's worldview
is their view of God. But first, does a God exist? Yes, there is a God that exists. God is not in a body
like humans are, but He was able to come to Earth as a human being. I would have to describe Him
as a being that is much different than anything we experience in the physical world. God is
omnipresent; He is omniscient and omnipotent. God's nature is loving, caring, and forgiving.
Because I believe there is more than the material cosmos, it is absolutely possible that God exists
which, is what I believe to be true. People can, however, worship other made up gods such as a sun
god, golden calf, television, sports, a Hollywood star, or money. Although people have other gods,
God is the only true God. There is no one or nothing like Him. After covering the view of God, the
nature of reality is next. First, you have to ask is the external world an illusion. To this, I would have
to say no, the external world is not an illusion. I also believe that the world is not chaotic. I believe it
is orderly and intelligently designed which suggest there was a creator. With that in mind and the
fact that I believe God created the Earth, I would have to say that the universe is dependent on God,
but God is not dependent on the Earth. God cannot intervene in time and space because He already
has a plan for everything and He knows how it is going to play out. I do believe in miracles,

Comparing God And God In Greek Mythology
I had taken a particular liking to Greek mythology when I read a certain book series. I knew very
well about god at the time so despite me liking Greek mythology, actually believing it never crossed
my mind. I will explain the overall difference between Gods sovereignty and that of Greek fatalism.
If you so happen to be a Christian that knows about Greek mythology, then one thing stands out the
most; there is only one god in Christianity besides there are several gods in Greek mythology. Zeus
(the highest and most powerful god) created all gods in Greek mythology, as in our god that has
been here since the beginning of time. Zeus is not a loving god. Zeus is more of a figure that plays
with puppets in this huge play room, he's more of an image of power and greatness that wished to be
worshiped at all times. Our God is a loving God that created everything and controls everything. He
has an image of power and love though has a personal relationship with his followers. ... Show more

He can produce lightning bolts and alter the weather. Unlike God, Zeus has weaknesses which
basically means he could be defeated. Zeus's two brothers Poseidon and Hades are also the most
powerful gods among most other gods. All of these gods can sometimes have children called
demigods which is a being that is half God half Man. God only has one child, Jesus. Since Zeus
could be defeated, he is not as almighty and powerful as God. God granted us the ability of free will
while as Zeus and all other Gods can manipulate, control and destroy its people at will. When you
die you would go the three realms, with God there is only heaven or

God By Simon Blackburn God Analysis
In this text titled GOD by Simon Blackburn, the protagonist agues of beliefs and other things. I am
going to argue that there does not exist a super or godlike being who is all good, all knowing, all
powerful. (40 words) In the text titled The problem of Evil, Blackburn infers that god is not fit to be
worshipped and should not be the origin principle of right and wrong. God supposedly has perfect
morals and is infinite in power allowing him to accomplish anything he desires. God is an all–
powerful, all– knowing, and an all–caring god. However, the idea of God being all of those things
seems to be contradictory. The existence of poverty, lust, envy, and other vices points to
inconsistencies in the idea that God is almighty. The greatness ... Show more content on

Being all powerful means he can execute and accomplish any given task, meaning God in truth can
fix and change anything and everything for the better. And if God is all–knowing, then God should
already know the outcome and destination of every single individual in the world. Lastly, if God is
all caring then he is looking for our best interest. God wants us to live comfortably among each
other. And if we do in truth live comfortably and everyone lives comfortably among one another
then. It would enable a world where wars are extinguished, along with crime and poverty. But that is
not the case. God willingly watch us live our lives miserably in an even more miserable world. A
world where humans, animals are placed in a chain; where our very own survival is based upon
fitness. So in actuality this happens to be false, and if this is false then god is not genuinely all–
caring. If god is actually all–knowing, all–powerful, all–caring, he would do something about this.
He has the power to intervene and change things but for reasons unknown chooses otherwise
Furthermore, god is supposedly full of wisdom, his wisdom is infinite, yet the world lacks heavily.
One way this can be viewed is with nature, how nature scarcely tends to the need of human and
animal happiness. One question that one may ask is can and is god able to prevent evil? Does he
have what it takes; maybe god is impotent (lacking power, strength). According

God In Professor Johnson's Portrait Of God
Professor Johnson explains how society sees God in five different ways. One, that God is invisible
higher being or entity, who sees everything and can intervene with our world in order to bring
changes. Second, God is seen as someone who oversees everything and thus "rules" the world in
manner that seems fit. Third, God is always portrayed as "He", even though being referd to as the
Supreme Being, and is remote from this materialistic world. Forth, God is presented as one who
loves the world but is not contaminated by its messiness or wrongdoings. Fifth, he is described as
distant lawgiver who is present in our society, church, and family. When I was growing up, the
portrait of God was not presented or enforced on me within my family. I shaped

God Is No Proof That God Exists?
It is a fact that the square root of two is an irrational number. Pathagoras had a guy thrown
overboard for bringing this to his attention. If something that can be proven evokes such a response
out of an intelligent philosopher, then how would people react if their religious beliefs are
threatened? Is this the basis of terrorism, or is it something else? Are religious beliefs rational if
there is no proof that God exists? I've met many people who believed in God but not in Hell. In the
Bible, Hell is only mentioned a total of five times. Is it irrational to believe in God, Heaven, or Hell?
Classical evidentialists would say yes if they believed existence or the design of the universe to be
evidence in support of the existence of God. They would say no if they did not see these things as
evidence. Reformed epistemologists would say that it is rational to believe in God without the
support of evidence. Fideism claims a belief in God in the absence and even contrary to reason is
rational (Clark, 1994).
As with many decisions in everyday life, one may also perform a cost benefit analysis. A Pascalian
wager is made with the notion that God may or may not exist. If one believes in God and God exists,
then one will go to Heaven. If one believes in God and God does not exist, there will not be much to
lose. However, if one does not believe in God and God does exist, an eternity of damnation will be
faced. On this basis, it is rational to believe in God (Clark, 1994). We are

God grant Hannah's prayers but his plan was greater then just giving Hannah a child. There are
aspects of the story that parallel the greater story of Israel's need for a king.

five elements: the wife is childless; a messenger from God appears to one or the other spouse; the
messenger promises a son; the event is confirmed despite human doubt; and the promised son is
bom and receives a significant name.6 We find these elements in the accounts of Sarah, Samson's
mother, Hannah, and the Shunammite woman. The third model, request, involves a simpler plot with
only three elements: someone requests a son for a barren wife; the Lord hears the request; and a son
is given. The accounts of Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, and the woman in Ezra's vision contain these
elements.7 Childless Women in Relation to the Models.
These three variations of the barren mother type invite a look at the details of the various stories.
First, the Sarah, Rachel, and Hannah accounts involve competition and contain the elements
mentioned above. All three childless women were the husband 's favorite. In Sarah 's case she was

husbands loved, rather than their other wives Leah and Peninnah. Hannah prayed for her son. It's not

God Vs. Reys: The Existence Of God
From the Excerpts on God from a Neo–Scholastic Theology Book, we learn from its first section
that God is a subsistent (continuously existing) being, and that he is existence itself. As written by
Reys in the first excerpt "Subsistent Being," "[God's] existence is not an activity distinct from the
ultimate being... Its 'nature' and 'existence' are one single eternal fact" (CP2 10). Likewise, we see
this same fact in Chapter 3 of CP2, where it says, "With anything other than God, you can
distinguish its nature/essence from its existence... [b]ut with God, you can't distinguish His nature
from His existence, because they're the same thing" (CP2 6). These both relate to each other as they

does it mean by when Reys writes "... Deity alone has intrinsically the ability and right to exist"

The Father Of Odin : The God Of God
Odin
Odin sat in a throne above the earth where he could see all. He was protected by two ravens called
Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory or mind). Odin was the god of war, death, wisdom and
poetry as well as the sky god. He rode an eight legged horse named Sleipnir. If you died in battle,
you would go to Odin's hall: Valhalla. Odin's wives are Frigg and Jord and his eldest son is Thor, the
god of thunder.
Thor
Thor protected the homes of gods with his hammer that caused thunder and lightning. His symbol
was an oak tree. Thor is red–haired and bearded. He is the god of thunder. Thor is the son of Odin
and Jörd, and was one of the most powerful gods. it was said that he protected Asgard which was the
home of the gods. Thor had sons Magni and Modi, and with Sif he also had a daughter called Thrud.
Pagans.
Vikings were pagans, which means they believed in many gods. Some of the gods most significant
gods they believed in were Andvari–the guardian of treasures, Balder–Aesir god, Freya–the goddess
of sex, Njord–the god of wind and sea, Odin– the god of war, Thor– the god of thunder and lighting,

there are 7.4 billion people total. Using simple math, it is easy to tell there's 5.2 billion human
beings that do not identify our God as their savior. There are speculated consequences for each side
of this.
Each side can be represented in this chart. This chart would be represented by the null hypothesis,
there is a God. A null hypothesis is a statement that the value of a population parameter is equal to
some claimed value. (pg. 320) The alternative hypothesis is a statement that somehow differs from
the null hypothesis. In this case the alternative hypothesis would be that there is not a God. This
Chart shows hypothesis, God is and God is not. Also it shows both decisions, believe and don't
believe. In this chart heaven would be a consequence of correctly failing to reject a true null
hypothesis. You believe in God and there is a God. Hell would be considered a consequence of a
type one error. A type one error is when you reject a true null hypothesis. (pg. 329) If you believe

The Human Relationship Between God And God
God and humans have had a relationship since God created them. This relationship started with
humans thinking of God as their father and creator, and a God who forgives. We think of God this
way because as humans we can be hospitable and kind, but we can also not follow God's plan and
make mistakes. These mistakes reveal the forgiveness in God, and our hospitality and kindness
show that God is our Father and loves us. Humans direct relationship with God allows him to work
through us and show humans how he wants us to act and behave to achieve salvation. As a child I
perceived God as a father figure, God the Father. When I was in Catholic schools for elementary
school we learned all about how God created us. Not only in that way does God act as a father, but
also in that he loves us no matter what. For example, when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree
of knowledge God punishes them, but he takes care of them after. This act of care after Adam and
Eve have done something wrong shows how God is a father and will still care for his children even
of they do something wrong. God acts as my father would protecting and caring for me through
everything. Even after I learned more about God I still thought about him as a father, but then I
thought of him more deeply as he forgives us which is a big task. We learn that God forgives all our
sins so we can live a life for God, and meet him in salvation. For example in Cain and Abel, Cain
sinned because he killed his brother Abel. Although Cain sins God does not abandon him, God
punishes him for his wrong deed but still protects him. The protection that God gives Cain is God's
way of forgiving him. God forgave Cain and still cares for him as his child. God did not kill Cain for
killing Abel, or abandon him he forgives him and moves on. Now after studying Genesis in high
school I learn that God is much for than a father and he forgives us, I learn that he is always
listening to us and that he is all–knowing. I know that God is always listening to our prayers because
when Hagar and Ishmael were dying in the desert with no food or water God came to them. God
heard them and gave them a well to drink out of for water. God is all–knowing because in Adam and
Eve, God knew

Hebrew God Vs Sumerian God
Sumerian gods and the Hebrew's god were part of everyday people's lives. These gods influenced
people's decisions. The Sumerian worked to please their gods, and the Hebrews' view of their god
was based on faith and obedience. The Sumerian gods, as well as the Hebrew's god, were powerful.
For instance, they could create and destroy life, but these gods cared about their people as well.
While the Hebrews had a covenant between them and their god, that could not be broken if they
wanted to prosper, the Sumerian had the Code of Ur–Nammu. This code was the will of the gods
and was administered by the state (Joshua J., 2014).The Hebrew's god was also severe, strict and
righteous. Breaking a clause of the covenant would result in facing the anger of god.
The polytheistic religion of the Sumerian contrasted with the monotheistic religion of the Hebrews.
The people of Sumeria worshipped thousands of gods, and each city–state adopted a god as their
protector (Hunt, Martin, Rosenwein & Smith, 2013, p.10). Moreover, the Sumerian built ziggurats, a
temple tower, to please their gods (Hunt, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gods of both religions had control over all the different aspects of life such as weather, fertility,
and war (Hunt, Martin, Rosenwein & Smith, 2013, p.10). For instance, in the Book of Genesis
17:16–19, the Hebrew's god says to Abraham that he is going to bless his wife, who is ninety years
old, and he is going to give him a son by her. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Sumerian god Aruru
creates Enkidu to destroy Gilgamesh (p. 3). Another aspect of the Sumerian religion is the god–like
attributes of the Sumerian kings. This is reflected at the beginning of the Epic of Gilgamesh: "Anu
granted him the totality of knowledge of all. He saw the Secret, discovered the Hidden" (p. 1). In the
Hebrews religion, only god knows everything, and he is universal and omnipresent. There is no one

Argument For Definition Of God: The Abrahamic God
Reading: pp. 76–89 (Selected: pp. 76–82)
1. Thesis
God is one substance, and is entirely different from man. As a result of this, God cannot be
described at all by man.
2. Terms
A. God: The Abrahamic God, as described in the Old Testament.
B. Essence: The nature of a thing that constitute what it means to be that thing.
C. Attribute: A characteristic pertaining to the sum of a things essence.
D. Quality: An accidental property not necessary to the things essence.
E. Action: Effect through material cause.
Propositions
A. Definition cannot be used to describe God.
B. Quality cannot be used to describe God.
C. Analogy cannot be used to describe God.
D. Action cannot be used to describe God.
Arguments
Argument for Proposition A: Definitions are an explanation of a thing. Explanations necessitate a
previous cause. God does not have a previous cause as he is the cause of himself. Therefore, God
cannot be defined and consequently cannot be described through the use of a definition.
Argument for Proposition B: Since qualities do not pertain to the essence of a thing, they are
inherently accidental. Accidental properties or "qualities" are only applicable to finite things. God is
infinite; therefore, God does not possess any qualities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His last two however are not, the fourth just rambles on about how different God is from everything
else. Although God may be profoundly different from man, man was derived from God's essence.
Based on this, it seems intuitive to think that man would be able to offer at least broad descriptions
of God. The fifth makes a claim that God's effects are somehow different from all other effects
because they emanate from his essence. I probably just don't fully understand the fifth, but it doesn't
seem clear why his effects emanating from his essence as opposed to "any extraneous thing"
prevents man from understanding him through his

Do Gods Appeal To Greek Gods
This quote is very introspective about deities. And it is true. Many gods in myths and legends are not
known to be kind. This is why people try to appeal to them in sacrifices and offerings, fearing the
gods' wrath in the form of natural disasters and sickness. The concept of deities was formed in order
to explain unknown things, and since people before could not predict natural disasters, they hoped
that their worship will stop the bad things from happening. Even now, people appeal to deities for
good fortune and to protect them, and many still fear punishment from their deities.
Many worshippers make sacrifices and offering to the gods. There are many religions that call for
human sacrifices, such as the Aztecs. Worshippers of Zeus sacrificed

Omnipotence Of God
God is the almighty, the all–powerful, and the creator. The concept of God has intrigued humans
since the dawn of time. As a result, the ability to understand Him is necessary. The question, "What
is God?," has baffled intellectuals throughout history. According to the Oxford Dictionary, God is
"the creator and ruler of the universe and source of moral authority." However, this definition
loosely describes the fundamentals of God himself. In order to accurately define Him, one must go
beyond sources like the Bible because it contains refutable miracles to outline the acts of God. To
truly define God, one must identify the traits that make God unparalleled. God must be an
omniscient and omnipotent, an omnibenevolent, and an omnitemporal being. ... Show more content

By being all–knowing, or omniscient, He is able to observe all parts of the universe. This ability is
the reason why people believe He is cognizant of whether they have sinned or shown virtue. In order
to be all knowing, God must also be all–powerful, or omnipotent. Omnipotence allows God to create
the universe and control everything within it. Without omniscience and omnipotence, God would be
demoted to just a higher order being instead of the perfect being, which would defy the basis for
monotheistic beliefs. Likely the most challenging trait for people to understand is God's
omnibenevolence: the ability to be completely good. Omnibenevolence suggests His capacity to end
all suffering. However, He intentionally allows the path of life to veer away from perfection. This
fact stems from the gift of free will. Without free will, life would lose its meaning and thus would be
fundamentally imperfect. God's omnibenevolence is to provide a life with meaning. His creation of
an imperfect existence is the epitome of perfection, for what is life but

The Existence Of God : God
The existence of God has been in question for as long as mankind has existed and thought logically.
Many questions have plagued the human mind in regards to God, and there have been many
arguments drawn with the hopes of proving the existence of a supreme being whom we know as
God. The "God" question has been presented to every individual at some point in their lives. It is a
topic that will bring forth never–ending questions and an equal amount of attempted answers. Many
philosophers have formulated different rationales when examining the topic of God, some of which
include how the word itself should be defined, what his role is in human existence, whether or not
he loves us, and ultimately, if he even exists at all. Mankind cannot ... Show more content on

Anselm in this case defines God as "a being than which nothing greater can be conceived" (Anselm
30). Ontological arguments tend to be a priori, which is an argument that utilizes thoughts as
opposed to empirical evidence to prove validity. Anselm addresses the Atheist fool in an attempt to
disprove him "since the fool has said in his heart, There is no God?"(Anselm, 30). Anselm stressed
that it is obligatory to recognize God as a perfect being that cannot be improved upon, and if
someone understands the concept of God, then God exists in that person's understanding. It is
greater to exist in reality than just simply the understanding. The fool understands the concept of
God. Therefore the fool has God in his understanding. Suppose God exists only in the understanding
of the fool and not in reality. We could then think of something exactly as it existed in the fools
understanding but it can also exist in reality, and the being we conceived of would be greater than
the being that exists in the fools understanding. Therefore God exists not only in the understanding
of the fool but also in reality. By showing that God exists in reality as well as in the understanding,
we see that it is imperative that we should believe in God and that it is indeed reasonable.

God Vs Gods In The Odyssey
Is there a difference between the Christian God and the gods in the famous book known as the
Odyssey? Should we really care if God or the gods of the odyssey are better or worse than the other
or for that matter be thankful that we are ruled by God rather than the Odyssey gods? In many ways
they are very different. Sending his only son to die on the cross God, loving and merciful, showed
he cared about his mortals, while the gods of The Odyssey will try to kill you even if you slightly
offend their children. No caring for mortals there. Surprisingly that's just one of the many qualities
that separates the Odyssey gods to the real almighty God. While that by itself is a pretty convincing

Why God Should Not Be Blamed On God
Many people throughout history have found themselves asking why evil exists. Or why, an all–
powerful, omnipotent, omniscient, and morally perfect God allows evil into the world that he/she
created. This question has brought about many answers and much debate between believers and
non–believers. I have done a lot of reading on this dilemma and hope to address it through looking
at a few key points. First, I want to address the question, what do we, as humans perceive as evil. To
answer that question, I will look at both physical and moral evil, as well as try to explain what both
are, and how they should not be blamed on God. Secondly, I will address the question why would an
all–good God allow evil to exist within his creation. To answer that question, I will look to freewill
to help explain why God would allow evil to take place. Finally, I will address the major question,
why do bad things happen to good people. I feel to answer the question we have to look to our own
perception of the situation, and what Gods plan is. The problem of evil has been of great debate
throughout time, and continues to be today. The best place to start to understand this debate, and try
to make heads or tails of it is to discuss what we as human beings see as evil.
The first question that needs to be answered is what type of things humans perceive as evil. To
answer this, you must understand that there are two types of evil that is present in our world. These
two types of evil are physical and

The God Is Blessed By God
Throughout our lives we hear people saying, "God has blessed me" or "I am blessed" and most of
the time the first thing that comes to our minds is success. We immediately relate blessings to
something great. The most common understanding of what it means to be blessed by God is that we
receive good things from Him. In this case, we can say that everyone, believes and non–believers
receive blessings from God. However, we should ask ourselves this: are the blessings from God only
limited to materialistic things? Even though they are part of it, to think that the blessings from God
are primarily materialistic things tends to limit our understanding of what God has in store for us the
believers. So what does it really mean to be blessed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is nothing we could have done to deserve God 's blessing. However, in his infinite love, Jesus
Christ took our place and died on the cross for us; Jesus bore the curse that was upon us and died in
our place. He died so we could live. Every single human being has received the blessing of God
through faith in Jesus. Galatians 3:14 says, "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to
Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the
promise of the Spirit." This verse clearly tells us that the blessing in Christ that God wants us to
receive is much larger than materialistic things; God wants us to receive the promise of the Spirit.
This verse also indicates that the Spirit is the blessing that God promised Abraham to all nations and
that has been received by everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their only Savior. Because the
Spirit of God dwells in us, we are beyond blessed to have the opportunity to pray, call upon his
name and meditate in his Word. We are blessed by simply having the opportunity of conversation
with God at any time of our day. To me, the word blessing or to be blessed means: to have the Spirit
dwelling in me and to have his active support in my life. The greatest blessing of God always rests
in God Himself.

atheists come in. Atheists do not believe in a god. "They argue that scientific evidence proves that
life on Earth evolved over many millennia, not according to the literal timetable of the Bible. They

meaningful life " following the rules of society"("Atheism") not of god. They believe in "Darwin's
theory of evolution and natural selection. This puts the origins of humanity into the hands of nature,

What Is God, Or Better, Who Is God?
67. What is God, or better, WHO IS GOD?
God is Supreme, All Embracing, ETERNAL Living Being in which organism – THE ENTIRE
UNIVERSE – we all live – move, have our being, and fulfill the role of being the SENSORY
INSTRUMENTS in function of its CONSCIOUSNESS.
God is the only being with Primary & Secondary Consciousness in simultaneous function and the
only Being which always has THE INNER Life Perception. There is nothing 'outside' God. The God
'I', in principal, does not differentiate from any other 'I', per example, 'I' of an insect, or a retard

Lord God, God And God
The Hebrew Bible is a redaction, a single document stitched together using different sources. The
first book, Genesis, means origin: both the origin of the world (creation) and modern humans
(genealogy). It is the product of two sources known as the Priestly source (P) and the Yahwistic or
Non–Priestly Source (J). The two sources present different versions of the supreme being: God and
Lord God. While God and Lord God both have immense power and the unique ability to create, they
are separate characters with separate personalities. Lord God is like a Greek anthropomorphic god
with human desires and limitations, whereas God is an all–powerful abstract being of pure spirit.
Lord God, like a Greek anthropomorphic god, has a human form and body. We first learn about Lord
God in chapter two, the second creation story. Firstly, Lord God "formed man from the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath." (2.7) The verb "to form" implies that Lord God
made man with his hands, and he has a breath, so he is not just an immaterial being. Therefore, Lord
God must have a physical form because he is directly involved in the work of creation, not just
commanding things to be. We see evidence of his physical presence later when Adam and Eve "
[hear] the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden..." (3.8) For Lord God to be walking and
making noise in the garden, he would need to have feet, and by extension, a body.
In addition to his human physique, Lord God has a human

MacEwan describes the Trinity in a way that God can be viewed in three different ways, viewed at
through three different windows and mean something different to everyone based on the relationship
with God they have or the way they need God to be to them at that time. The first way is how God is
our Father. He is our Father because He is the creator, the one who started everything, the one with
parental love, the one that we will end with at the end of our time on Earth in Heaven. Although this
can be difficult for some to look at God like a parent because of the difficult relationship they have
with their own, this must be looked past because he is like the perfect, loving parent we all wish to
have. The second way of viewing God is being the Son. This is the relating aspect of the Trinity. We
are able relate to the Son because He is just like us, God was put into flesh and He went through
everything that we went through. He struggled like us and had to fight with sin, but then conquered
it. The Son is the "one who loves us as a companion, as a fellow–human being, as one who shares
our circumstances, who is gracious, whose love is forgiving and healing, reconciling and peace–
giving." (TS) The final way of viewing God is the Holy Spirit. God as the Holy Spirit is like the
clear pane window that helps us see God

Relationship Between God And God In 'Gilgamesh'
In many different texts such as "Gilgamesh" and "The Odyssey", there is a relationship displayed
between God and man or "the divine". In these stories the gods are almost always close by. The gods
in Gilgamesh are very similar to the humans in terms of appearance. Not only that but they behave
similar as well. They have emotions and feel things but also expect things of the humans. They want
sacrifices and for the humans to obey them. In obeying and pleasing the gods however, the humans
in return expect to be guided by the gods and kept safe. This is because the humans see the gods as
unconquerable, almighty, and immortal beings. Although being seen that way to the human's, the
gods have their weaknesses too. Despite the fact that there are gods in Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh
himself is two thirds god and one third man. He too has unbelievable strength and does unbelievable
things like killing the Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. He is capable of doing things like the gods
because he is like them to an extent. He too feels things such as sadness and grief when his friend
Enkidu dies. The gods play a part in the lives of man in this way too. For example, the gods agreed
in council that either Gilgamesh or Enkidu must die for what they had done in killing the Bull of
Heaven. In the end this resulted in Enkidu's death. Gilgamesh like the gods, doesn't only feel and
have emotions but has a weakness as well. Gilgamesh's weaknesses in this story are arrogance and
pride. He displays this

The Kingdom of God: A Hidden State of Being

  • 1. God Will Find A Way Of God No matter what path one chooses to follow in life, God will find a way to inflict punishment. One can disobey his words as Adam and Eve choose to, commit actions whilom forbidden and in turn taint mankind, or one can be as devout as Job and have one's entire family slain in the name of a challenge posed by Satan. One might as well disregard the idea of God in itself if one is to find naught but chastisement in his or her lifetime. In Hebrew, ‫יהוה‬ (HVH), oft later translated to 'YHVH' and eventually 'Yahweh,' can be rendered into plethora of things. 'I am that I am;' 'I am who I am;' 'I will be who I will be;' 'I am;' 'I will be.' HYH means 'to become' in Hebrew; 'become' is futural and suggests becoming (Brandes FYP Lecture). This is mind, one must think of God as transcendent, above the natural world – contrary to the Mesopotamian's view of the gods. If the Hebrew God is 'becoming,' how can we as humans, beings on this Earth who are unable to see his face (Exodus 33:20), comprehend his nature? God is an entity who is familiar with naught but ascendency. "God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light" (Genesis 1:3) and thusly lays down the law of the land; "God is the law" (Burke FYP tutorial), what he says gets done. He commands, he does not ask (Genesis 1:2; Exodus 3:13). He is not to be disputed with, as further shown in Genesis when he states: "'I will greatly multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring fourth children' [...] and to Adam he said, ... • 5. The Greek God: The Greek God Dionysus There are many greek Gods. Some greek God's sit in silence but than there are those who have legendary stories. Then there are some really really lame god's like mine, the god that I was picked to talk about was the greek God Dionysus. When I was given this God to make a paper about I was not that thrilled about who I was given, But after doing research I found out that he is kind of one of the boring ones. But there are a few cool things about him, one of those things are is that he is one of the sons of Zeus and known to be the God of many things but mostly wine, harvest, pleasure, and madness. He is known for having a love for festivals as well. The "Dios" part of his name means of Zeus which is his father, also mixed with another word ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Reflection Of God Is God Chapter One: GOD God is God, no matter how simple that statement is, it is true and always will be. No one can know God perfectly, He is infinite and no one can wrap their minds around just exactly who God is. Most of us know about God, but that is quite different from actually knowing God. Our God is bigger and greater than anything anyone could ever think of. Yet the Bible tells us many things about God and the way He works that could help us better understand Him. Our God is three in one, God being three in one is what we call the "Trinity". Trinity is the Christian doctrine that deals with and also describes the nature of God. In the Trinity, the three persons are God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If God is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Trinity is one of the most difficult concepts to comprehend but it seems to be easier if you recognize the distinction between a "being" and a "person." God is only one being, the one and only divine being. This divine being exists as three persons, which is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the part where our brains gets confused because each human being is only one person, and it might seem that every being has to be one person. But that is simply just not always the case. For example a pet is a being but not a person. A plant is a being and not a person. In these cases, one being = zero persons. On the other hand an angel is a being and is a person, just like us humans, one being = one person. Once you realize that not every being is exactly one person it might be easier to grasp the concept of the Trinity. The Trinity is still a complex mystery, but we do not need to fully understand it to benefit from it. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit has entered into our hearts and souls, allowing us to be reconciled to God the father. If you think about almost every other religion in the world they all seem to know almost everything about their "god" and what it does and what it stands for. That is why Christians get hit so hard with the question, "Why do you believe in something you do not completely know is real?". In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Is There A God? Is there a God or is he just a myth? The world has been searching for God for ages and philosophers and atheists have debated about this topic. The word God itself is a huge controversy. Is there a God and if He is there why do we still have evil around, where is He? These are the general questions asked by man. On the other side atheists would say that there is no God for the universe evolved by itself and we came into being by accident. But the real question is how can we come into existence by just "itself" for the word itself does not make sense. In order for the universe to begin or have been created someone must have exited in the beginning and thus all the others have existed there after. There is someone with perfection and intelligence for the other natural bodies have acquired that fraction of qualities. I believe that the word God is just not God it's the supreme power through which all beings have come to pass. Great Philosophers, Thomas Aquinas, David Hume, St. Anselm and Karl Rahner, of their time have given their viewpoints on the existence of God being teleological, oncological and affirmation where St Aquinas has the highest degree of argument on the existence of God and I affirm Aquinas words on the existence of God. My first admission in the existence of God is based on Aquinas's argument. Aquinas arguments demonstrates the existence of God by stating that there are natural things that lack intelligence and thus do not have a purpose and maybe have the ... • 17. The Kingdom of God The Kingdom of God is a hidden, but important theme in the New Testament of the Bible. It isn't a place, but rather a state of being. Jesus spends most of his life living as an example of the Kingdom of God. Through Jesus' teachings, people begin to understand what it truly means to live in the Kingdom. This theme is mainly introduced in the gospel of Mark and progresses further in depth throughout the New Testament. The meaning of the Kingdom of God is found in the words of Jesus Christ. He provides an insight to the Kingdom and how to be a part of it. Through a more in depth look, one can find that many factors influence the presence and meaning of the Kingdom of God. Some factors include, but are not limited to: lifestyle, the Lord's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God's will must be done to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus makes it known that Christians should live for God and through God. People should do all things through God to successfully enter the Kingdom of God. Christians should have joy in all actions completed through God. Whether volunteering through the church, or helping a friend, do it in the right mindset to please God. Authority in the Kingdom of God is crucial to being a part of it. Authority is having power over someone or something, the right to give orders, and enforce obedience. (Webster) With regard to the Kingdom of God, authority fits into place in a couple categories. First, one must have authority over Satan and evil to be a part of the Kingdom of God. Having power over Satan is pivotal to God's Kingdom. Without power over Satan, has someone truly defeated evil? Authority over evil ensures that no evil enters God's Kingdom. "The major ways we give claim to the Enemy in our lives are through sin and through making agreements with Satan." (Eldredge) Jesus shows an example of authority over Satan when he is in the desert. Satan tempts Jesus with many things, but Jesus resists and conquers Satan with each temptation. He backs each temptation with evidentiary support, beginning with, "it is written," from the old testament. (The Holy Bible, Matt. 4:1–11). Jesus shows that authority over Satan is important to the Kingdom of God. Second, authority over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Relationship Between God And God The relation between nature (phusis) and God (theos) in early Greek philosophy is almost one in the same. Homer and Hesoid were the first Greek philosophers to make the connection between God and nature. They made connections to the birth of nature simultaneously being the "birth" of the gods and thus, forever connecting the two. Homer also gave the idea that Ocean is the creator of all gods and things in the world which goes with Thales monist worldview of that basic nature was created by one element, water. For ancient Greek philosophy, gods are seen as everything including nature and so, nature is divine. As with nature being divine the Greeks not only worship the supernatural anthropomorphic gods but also nature. Homer and Hesoid were the first to claim the connection between nature and God as they argued that the Gods created nature. In Hesoid's work "Theology" he states that all things created have originated from Gaia (Mother Earth) as she was the first God. After her came Ouranos (Heaven) and they created the Titians who created the Olympians and Tartaros (Underworld). Hesoid makes the connection that the three primordial gods all have the names of regions of the physical world (Earth, Heaven and Underworld) so it is confident to say that the creation of these gods was simultaneously the creation of the world and so the creation of nature. Homer on the other hand, believed that the god Ocean was the first who created the gods and nature. Another famous Greek ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Is It A God? Perfection is a godlike attribute in which many strive for, but often many fail. Looking into the way of Buddha, he has reached this state of perfection and enlightenment on his own, not through a higher power. In many ways he fulfills the attributes to be a God, though, there are also numerous differences that do not suggest he is like a God. Buddha is claimed by many to be a teacher of the Gods. Throughout the teachings of Buddha he thought believing in a higher power is originated from fear. He wanted people to understand their fears, lessen the desire, and ultimately accept what cannot be changed. There was no teacher in the knowledge that Buddha obtained, no higher power, no other source than himself. It is seemingly to be there is no one who claims to be more godless, yet, be so godlike at the same time. Over the years of people asking Buddha is there was a God, his answers showed how thinking the belief that there is or isn't a God is equally useless. At one point when he was talking to a man who believed in Lord Rama, he told the man there was no God. Yet, later on in his life, it is said when an atheist had approached him and asked if there was a God he told them there is a God. A leader in a way of life, the Blessed One and all knowing are some of the godlike qualities that Buddha possess. He is known in many forms of literature and very influential in worldly religions just like many who are claimed to be God's. Buddha not envious, he is compassionate for ... I don't think that God is ultimately responsible for evildoing. I will be arguing that God is not ultimately responsible for evildoing and here is some reason that I believe this. The first reason that I belive this is I believe that like Augustine that there is no single cause of evil and that each one of us is responsible for the evil we voluntarily commit. I believe that after God puts us on this earth he lets us make our own decisions so in turn we are voluntarily responsible for our own actions. To also go off of Augustine If God is all good then there is no way that an evil action could go back to him. If he is supposed to be this all powerful and all good he cannot be all powerful and all good but be responsible for evildoing as well. So, in this argumentative essay I will talk about how god ultimately responsible for evildoing I will be discussing these points mainly agreeing with Augustine's argument on the situation. Anything cited will be from chapter 3 of the fifty readings plus book. In Augustine's argument he is talking to Evodius about what I will be arguing about. I think that Augustine's points are very well done and he has a nice argument so I will be branching off of his as well as putting my own spin on the argument because although I believe that Augustine's points are good I don't want to completely copy him and I would ... • 33. God 's Speech On God Essay God gave us the bible so that we can understand rational truths with our mind and know what to believe. He teaches us how to Worship by painting a picture of the world through his eyes. He teaches us about ourselves, eternity, why we are here on Earth, and how to know right from wrong so we can Worship the greatness that is him. God has given us many commands like in Matthew 22: 37–39 to follow but we should take the teaching and understand the relationship that is presented between us and the Worship of him. God wants us to experience him and his world. By understanding God's invitation to know him better we learn not only more about him, but more about ourselves. We learn what sins to avoid, what parts of our lives need to be changed, how we can love others through him, and what are his plans and purpose for our lives thorough him are. To Worship becomes lessons on how to live a fulfilled life that we could never accomplish without him like in Psalm 19: 7–8; and Corinthians 5:17. Worship must be sincere and selfless. "For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary". Psalms 96:5–6. This illustrates how we must not worship God because of the wealth He possesses. We must worship him because He is the Lord almighty. Worship is not sincere if it is done to only benefit your personal wellbeing. It is having a selfless desire deep within ones soul to give up everything to God, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is God real? Is God not real or merely a product of human weaknesses? In a January 1954 letter to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, Albert Einstein (who called himself "a deeply religious nonbeliever") described the idea of God as a "product of human weakness." Will you agree with this idea or not? Why? God Vs. The Idea of God elaborates the concept of "is God real or not?" I appreciate his elaboration of the Judeo–Christian portrayal and depiction of God. His explanation gives a vivid idea of the Christians in the church today. Harry's church history will also make the reader understand the background of the church and the way the people of long ago worship gods. They worship gods of the trees, the streams, the storms, the wind, the sun and all other terrestrial events. • 41. Is God Real Bonnie Pozza Mr. Strano English 101 28 November 2016 Is God Real? Have you ever wondered if God exists? Do you have faith and know he's there or just don't believe in him at all? I believe that God doesn't exist for numerous reasons. There are however, people who put all of their faith into what they believe in, whether it's one God or many gods and goddesses. Those who say that God does exist address that he does many good and pure things for people. God is said to have created everyone equally which is one of the few facts that I cannot argue with because there is no way to verify or disprove this fact. However, some people who believe in God say that He decides who lives and who dies. If that is true, then why does God make some good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And all those heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.? Luke 2:46–47 The Bible accounts that when God spoke for the first time, Life, in the form of an energy called light, illuminated the universe. In that moment of time, darkness was the present condition across the expanse. The darkness could not understand the light and thus fled as God expressed his sovereign will through the spoken Word. The declaration of His Word brought forth light. This original light inundated the cosmos with life. Therefore, we conclude that life in the universe exists by the verbal Word of God. The written word of God, in comparison to the spoken word of God, first came to men on Mount Sinai when God himself carved with His finger upon tablets of stone. Moses was the original recipient of the written word. The stone tablets, however, was not the Lord?s first choice of where to put His Word. His first choice was to speak the Word directly into the hearts of His covenant people, Israel. Having a unique group of people who embraced His Word in their hearts was God?s perfect blueprint. However, as Sinai vibrated with the omnipotence of God speaking, the nation of Israel trembled with fear as they backed away from the voice of the Lord God. Moses was the only one at that time who drew near to where God was. On the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. God Is The Only True God Everyone's definition of their worldview is different. An area that is a part of someone's worldview is their view of God. But first, does a God exist? Yes, there is a God that exists. God is not in a body like humans are, but He was able to come to Earth as a human being. I would have to describe Him as a being that is much different than anything we experience in the physical world. God is omnipresent; He is omniscient and omnipotent. God's nature is loving, caring, and forgiving. Because I believe there is more than the material cosmos, it is absolutely possible that God exists which, is what I believe to be true. People can, however, worship other made up gods such as a sun god, golden calf, television, sports, a Hollywood star, or money. Although people have other gods, God is the only true God. There is no one or nothing like Him. After covering the view of God, the nature of reality is next. First, you have to ask is the external world an illusion. To this, I would have to say no, the external world is not an illusion. I also believe that the world is not chaotic. I believe it is orderly and intelligently designed which suggest there was a creator. With that in mind and the fact that I believe God created the Earth, I would have to say that the universe is dependent on God, but God is not dependent on the Earth. I knew very well about god at the time so despite me liking Greek mythology, actually believing it never crossed my mind. I will explain the overall difference between Gods sovereignty and that of Greek fatalism. If you so happen to be a Christian that knows about Greek mythology, then one thing stands out the most; there is only one god in Christianity besides there are several gods in Greek mythology. Zeus (the highest and most powerful god) created all gods in Greek mythology, as in our god that has been here since the beginning of time. Zeus is not a loving god. Zeus is more of a figure that plays with puppets in this huge play room, he's more of an image of power and greatness that wished to be worshiped at all times. Our God is a loving God that created everything and controls everything. He has an image of power and love though has a personal relationship with his followers. ... God only has one child, Jesus. Since Zeus could be defeated, he is not as almighty and powerful as God. • 61. God By Simon Blackburn God Analysis In this text titled GOD by Simon Blackburn, the protagonist agues of beliefs and other things. I am going to argue that there does not exist a super or godlike being who is all good, all knowing, all powerful. (40 words) In the text titled The problem of Evil, Blackburn infers that god is not fit to be worshipped and should not be the origin principle of right and wrong. God supposedly has perfect morals and is infinite in power allowing him to accomplish anything he desires. God is an all– powerful, all– knowing, and an all–caring god. However, the idea of God being all of those things seems to be contradictory. The existence of poverty, lust, envy, and other vices points to inconsistencies in the idea that God is almighty. The greatness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being all powerful means he can execute and accomplish any given task, meaning God in truth can fix and change anything and everything for the better. And if God is all–knowing, then God should already know the outcome and destination of every single individual in the world. Lastly, if God is all caring then he is looking for our best interest. God wants us to live comfortably among each other. And if we do in truth live comfortably and everyone lives comfortably among one another then. It would enable a world where wars are extinguished, along with crime and poverty. But that is not the case. God willingly watch us live our lives miserably in an even more miserable world. A world where humans, animals are placed in a chain; where our very own survival is based upon fitness. So in actuality this happens to be false, and if this is false then god is not genuinely all– caring. If god is actually all–knowing, all–powerful, all–caring, he would do something about this. He has the power to intervene and change things but for reasons unknown chooses otherwise Furthermore, god is supposedly full of wisdom, his wisdom is infinite, yet the world lacks heavily. One way this can be viewed is with nature, how nature scarcely tends to the need of human and animal happiness. One question that one may ask is can and is god able to prevent evil? Does he have what it takes; maybe god is impotent (lacking power, strength). According ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One, that God is invisible higher being or entity, who sees everything and can intervene with our world in order to bring changes. Second, God is seen as someone who oversees everything and thus "rules" the world in manner that seems fit. Third, God is always portrayed as "He", even though being referd to as the Supreme Being, and is remote from this materialistic world. Forth, God is presented as one who loves the world but is not contaminated by its messiness or wrongdoings. • 69. God Is No Proof That God Exists? It is a fact that the square root of two is an irrational number. Pathagoras had a guy thrown overboard for bringing this to his attention. If something that can be proven evokes such a response out of an intelligent philosopher, then how would people react if their religious beliefs are threatened? Is this the basis of terrorism, or is it something else? Are religious beliefs rational if there is no proof that God exists? I've met many people who believed in God but not in Hell. In the Bible, Hell is only mentioned a total of five times. Is it irrational to believe in God, Heaven, or Hell? Classical evidentialists would say yes if they believed existence or the design of the universe to be evidence in support of the existence of God. They would say no if they did not see these things as evidence. Reformed epistemologists would say that it is rational to believe in God without the support of evidence. Fideism claims a belief in God in the absence and even contrary to reason is rational (Clark, 1994). As with many decisions in everyday life, one may also perform a cost benefit analysis. A Pascalian wager is made with the notion that God may or may not exist. If one believes in God and God exists, then one will go to Heaven. If one believes in God and God does not exist, there will not be much to lose. However, if one does not believe in God and God does exist, an eternity of damnation will be faced. On this basis, it is rational to believe in God (Clark, 1994). We are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The third model, request, involves a simpler plot with only three elements: someone requests a son for a barren wife; the Lord hears the request; and a son is given. The accounts of Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, and the woman in Ezra's vision contain these elements.7 Childless Women in Relation to the Models. These three variations of the barren mother type invite a look at the details of the various stories. As written by Reys in the first excerpt "Subsistent Being," "[God's] existence is not an activity distinct from the ultimate being... Its 'nature' and 'existence' are one single eternal fact" (CP2 10). Likewise, we see this same fact in Chapter 3 of CP2, where it says, "With anything other than God, you can distinguish its nature/essence from its existence... According to npr.org there are 2.2 billion people in this world that identify as a Christian. This means these people do believe there is a God. According to World bank, there are 7.4 billion people total. Using simple math, it is easy to tell there's 5.2 billion human beings that do not identify our God as their savior. There are speculated consequences for each side of this. Each side can be represented in this chart. This chart would be represented by the null hypothesis, there is a God. A null hypothesis is a statement that the value of a population parameter is equal to some claimed value. (pg. 320) The alternative hypothesis is a statement that somehow differs from the null hypothesis. In this case the alternative hypothesis would be that there is not a God. This Chart shows hypothesis, God is and God is not. Also it shows both decisions, believe and don't believe. In this chart heaven would be a consequence of correctly failing to reject a true null hypothesis. You believe in God and there is a God. Hell would be considered a consequence of a type one error. • 90. The Human Relationship Between God And God God and humans have had a relationship since God created them. This relationship started with humans thinking of God as their father and creator, and a God who forgives. We think of God this way because as humans we can be hospitable and kind, but we can also not follow God's plan and make mistakes. These mistakes reveal the forgiveness in God, and our hospitality and kindness show that God is our Father and loves us. Humans direct relationship with God allows him to work through us and show humans how he wants us to act and behave to achieve salvation. As a child I perceived God as a father figure, God the Father. When I was in Catholic schools for elementary school we learned all about how God created us. Not only in that way does God act as a father, but also in that he loves us no matter what. For example, when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge God punishes them, but he takes care of them after. This act of care after Adam and Eve have done something wrong shows how God is a father and will still care for his children even of they do something wrong. God acts as my father would protecting and caring for me through everything. Even after I learned more about God I still thought about him as a father, but then I thought of him more deeply as he forgives us which is a big task. We learn that God forgives all our sins so we can live a life for God, and meet him in salvation. For example in Cain and Abel, Cain sinned because he killed his brother Abel. Although Cain sins God does not abandon him, God punishes him for his wrong deed but still protects him. The protection that God gives Cain is God's way of forgiving him. God forgave Cain and still cares for him as his child. God did not kill Cain for killing Abel, or abandon him he forgives him and moves on. Now after studying Genesis in high school I learn that God is much for than a father and he forgives us, I learn that he is always listening to us and that he is all–knowing. I know that God is always listening to our prayers because when Hagar and Ishmael were dying in the desert with no food or water God came to them. God heard them and gave them a well to drink out of for water. God is all–knowing because in Adam and Eve, God knew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Sumerian worked to please their gods, and the Hebrews' view of their god was based on faith and obedience. The Sumerian gods, as well as the Hebrew's god, were powerful. For instance, they could create and destroy life, but these gods cared about their people as well. While the Hebrews had a covenant between them and their god, that could not be broken if they wanted to prosper, the Sumerian had the Code of Ur–Nammu. This code was the will of the gods and was administered by the state (Joshua J., 2014).The Hebrew's god was also severe, strict and righteous. Breaking a clause of the covenant would result in facing the anger of god. The polytheistic religion of the Sumerian contrasted with the monotheistic religion of the Hebrews. The people of Sumeria worshipped thousands of gods, and each city–state adopted a god as their protector (Hunt, Martin, Rosenwein & Smith, 2013, p.10). Moreover, the Sumerian built ziggurats, a temple tower, to please their gods (Hunt, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Sumerian god Aruru creates Enkidu to destroy Gilgamesh (p. 3). Another aspect of the Sumerian religion is the god–like attributes of the Sumerian kings. This is reflected at the beginning of the Epic of Gilgamesh: "Anu granted him the totality of knowledge of all. He saw the Secret, discovered the Hidden" (p. 1). As a result of this, God cannot be described at all by man. 2. Terms A. God: The Abrahamic God, as described in the Old Testament. B. Essence: The nature of a thing that constitute what it means to be that thing. C. Attribute: A characteristic pertaining to the sum of a things essence. D. Quality cannot be used to describe God. C. Analogy cannot be used to describe God. D. Action cannot be used to describe God. Arguments Argument for Proposition A: Definitions are an explanation of a thing. Explanations necessitate a previous cause. God does not have a previous cause as he is the cause of himself. Therefore, God cannot be defined and consequently cannot be described through the use of a definition. This is why people try to appeal to them in sacrifices and offerings, fearing the gods' wrath in the form of natural disasters and sickness. The concept of deities was formed in order to explain unknown things, and since people before could not predict natural disasters, they hoped that their worship will stop the bad things from happening. • 106. Omnipotence Of God God is the almighty, the all–powerful, and the creator. The concept of God has intrigued humans since the dawn of time. As a result, the ability to understand Him is necessary. The question, "What is God?," has baffled intellectuals throughout history. According to the Oxford Dictionary, God is "the creator and ruler of the universe and source of moral authority." However, this definition loosely describes the fundamentals of God himself. In order to accurately define Him, one must go beyond sources like the Bible because it contains refutable miracles to outline the acts of God. To truly define God, one must identify the traits that make God unparalleled. God must be an omniscient and omnipotent, an omnibenevolent, and an omnitemporal being. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By being all–knowing, or omniscient, He is able to observe all parts of the universe. This ability is the reason why people believe He is cognizant of whether they have sinned or shown virtue. In order to be all knowing, God must also be all–powerful, or omnipotent. Omnipotence allows God to create the universe and control everything within it. Without omniscience and omnipotence, God would be demoted to just a higher order being instead of the perfect being, which would defy the basis for monotheistic beliefs. Likely the most challenging trait for people to understand is God's omnibenevolence: the ability to be completely good. Omnibenevolence suggests His capacity to end all suffering. However, He intentionally allows the path of life to veer away from perfection. This fact stems from the gift of free will. Without free will, life would lose its meaning and thus would be fundamentally imperfect. God's omnibenevolence is to provide a life with meaning. • 110. The Existence Of God : God The existence of God has been in question for as long as mankind has existed and thought logically. Many questions have plagued the human mind in regards to God, and there have been many arguments drawn with the hopes of proving the existence of a supreme being whom we know as God. The "God" question has been presented to every individual at some point in their lives. It is a topic that will bring forth never–ending questions and an equal amount of attempted answers. Many philosophers have formulated different rationales when examining the topic of God, some of which include how the word itself should be defined, what his role is in human existence, whether or not he loves us, and ultimately, if he even exists at all. Mankind cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anselm in this case defines God as "a being than which nothing greater can be conceived" (Anselm 30). Ontological arguments tend to be a priori, which is an argument that utilizes thoughts as opposed to empirical evidence to prove validity. Anselm addresses the Atheist fool in an attempt to disprove him "since the fool has said in his heart, There is no God?"(Anselm, 30). Anselm stressed that it is obligatory to recognize God as a perfect being that cannot be improved upon, and if someone understands the concept of God, then God exists in that person's understanding. It is greater to exist in reality than just simply the understanding. The fool understands the concept of God. Therefore the fool has God in his understanding. Suppose God exists only in the understanding of the fool and not in reality. We could then think of something exactly as it existed in the fools understanding but it can also exist in reality, and the being we conceived of would be greater than the being that exists in the fools understanding. Therefore God exists not only in the understanding of the fool but also in reality. By showing that God exists in reality as well as in the understanding, we see that it is imperative that we should believe in God and that it is indeed reasonable. A cosmological argument focuses on the notion of causation and that everything in the universe including us must have an initial cause, for nothing comes from nothing. Thomas ... Should we really care if God or the gods of the odyssey are better or worse than the other or for that matter be thankful that we are ruled by God rather than the Odyssey gods? In many ways they are very different. Sending his only son to die on the cross God, loving and merciful, showed he cared about his mortals, while the gods of The Odyssey will try to kill you even if you slightly offend their children. No caring for mortals there. Surprisingly that's just one of the many qualities that separates the Odyssey gods to the real almighty God. Demonstrating a great amount of power he made the stars the sun the earth and everything in it. The Odyssey gods are definitely not infinitely powerful because it took them a really long time to create a non perfect world and they were the ones who introduced sin into the world not human beings. Surprisingly when the gods want someone dead it takes them a long time to do it because their power is limited. • 118. Why God Should Not Be Blamed On God Many people throughout history have found themselves asking why evil exists. Or why, an all– powerful, omnipotent, omniscient, and morally perfect God allows evil into the world that he/she created. This question has brought about many answers and much debate between believers and non–believers. I have done a lot of reading on this dilemma and hope to address it through looking at a few key points. First, I want to address the question, what do we, as humans perceive as evil. To answer that question, I will look at both physical and moral evil, as well as try to explain what both are, and how they should not be blamed on God. Secondly, I will address the question why would an all–good God allow evil to exist within his creation. To answer that question, I will look to freewill to help explain why God would allow evil to take place. Finally, I will address the major question, why do bad things happen to good people. I feel to answer the question we have to look to our own perception of the situation, and what Gods plan is. The problem of evil has been of great debate throughout time, and continues to be today. The best place to start to understand this debate, and try to make heads or tails of it is to discuss what we as human beings see as evil. The first question that needs to be answered is what type of things humans perceive as evil. To answer this, you must understand that there are two types of evil that is present in our world. We immediately relate blessings to something great. The most common understanding of what it means to be blessed by God is that we receive good things from Him. In this case, we can say that everyone, believes and non–believers receive blessings from God. However, we should ask ourselves this: are the blessings from God only limited to materialistic things? Even though they are part of it, to think that the blessings from God are primarily materialistic things tends to limit our understanding of what God has in store for us the believers. So what does it really mean to be blessed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is nothing we could have done to deserve God 's blessing. However, in his infinite love, Jesus Christ took our place and died on the cross for us; Jesus bore the curse that was upon us and died in our place. He died so we could live. Every single human being has received the blessing of God through faith in Jesus. Galatians 3:14 says, "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit." This verse clearly tells us that the blessing in Christ that God wants us to receive is much larger than materialistic things; God wants us to receive the promise of the Spirit. This verse also indicates that the Spirit is the blessing that God promised Abraham to all nations and that has been received by everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their only Savior. Because the Spirit of God dwells in us, we are beyond blessed to have the opportunity to pray, call upon his name and meditate in his Word. We are blessed by simply having the opportunity of conversation with God at any time of our day. To me, the word blessing or to be blessed means: to have the Spirit dwelling in me and to have his active support in my life. The greatest blessing of God always rests in God Himself. Knowing that to be blessed by God is not only receiving materialistic things from him completely changes the idea I have of missions. For believers, a blessed life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

God is Supreme, All Embracing, ETERNAL Living Being in which organism – THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE – we all live – move, have our being, and fulfill the role of being the SENSORY INSTRUMENTS in function of its CONSCIOUSNESS. God is the only being with Primary & Secondary Consciousness in simultaneous function and the only Being which always has THE INNER Life Perception. There is nothing 'outside' God. The God 'I', in principal, does not differentiate from any other 'I', per example, 'I' of an insect, or a retard person, or a plant or an 'I' belonging to some planet or the cluster of 'I's in a fire or in any mineral composition. • 134. Lord God, God And God The Hebrew Bible is a redaction, a single document stitched together using different sources. The first book, Genesis, means origin: both the origin of the world (creation) and modern humans (genealogy). It is the product of two sources known as the Priestly source (P) and the Yahwistic or Non–Priestly Source (J). The two sources present different versions of the supreme being: God and Lord God. While God and Lord God both have immense power and the unique ability to create, they are separate characters with separate personalities. Lord God is like a Greek anthropomorphic god with human desires and limitations, whereas God is an all–powerful abstract being of pure spirit. Lord God, like a Greek anthropomorphic god, has a human form and body. We first learn about Lord God in chapter two, the second creation story. Firstly, Lord God "formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath." (2.7) The verb "to form" implies that Lord God made man with his hands, and he has a breath, so he is not just an immaterial being. Therefore, Lord God must have a physical form because he is directly involved in the work of creation, not just commanding things to be. We see evidence of his physical presence later when Adam and Eve " [hear] the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden..." (3.8) For Lord God to be walking and making noise in the garden, he would need to have feet, and by extension, a body. In addition to his human physique, Lord God has a human ... It is a very simple word to say, only seven letters, and three syllables, but one of the most confusing, interesting, and controversial concepts in this world that we live in. How can something be three separate things, with three separate missions, helping us in three separate ways, all three being just as mysterious to us, but still be one thing? Christianity is monotheistic, therefore we only believe in on God, but this one God has three separate but equal parts to it? MacEwan describes the Trinity in a way that God can be viewed in three different ways, viewed at through three different windows and mean something different to everyone based on the relationship with God they have or the way they need God to be to them at that time. The first way is how God is our Father. He is our Father because He is the creator, the one who started everything, the one with parental love, the one that we will end with at the end of our time on Earth in Heaven. Although this can be difficult for some to look at God like a parent because of the difficult relationship they have with their own, this must be looked past because he is like the perfect, loving parent we all wish to have. The second way of viewing God is being the Son. This is the relating aspect of the Trinity. We are able relate to the Son because He is just like us, God was put into flesh and He went through everything that we went through. He struggled like us and had to fight with sin, but then conquered it. The Son is the "one who loves us as a companion, as a fellow–human being, as one who shares our circumstances, who is gracious, whose love is forgiving and healing, reconciling and peace– giving." Pastor Greg Bahnsen articulates the essential construction of the image of God. In these stories the gods are almost always close by. The gods in Gilgamesh are very similar to the humans in terms of appearance. Not only that but they behave similar as well. They have emotions and feel things but also expect things of the humans. They want sacrifices and for the humans to obey them. In obeying and pleasing the gods however, the humans in return expect to be guided by the gods and kept safe. This is because the humans see the gods as unconquerable, almighty, and immortal beings. Although being seen that way to the human's, the gods have their weaknesses too. Despite the fact that there are gods in Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh himself is two thirds god and one third man. He too has unbelievable strength and does unbelievable things like killing the Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. He is capable of doing things like the gods because he is like them to an extent. He too feels things such as sadness and grief when his friend Enkidu dies. The gods play a part in the lives of man in this way too. For example, the gods agreed in council that either Gilgamesh or Enkidu must die for what they had done in killing the Bull of Heaven. In the end this resulted in Enkidu's death.
