1. DREAM FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT

2.
3. EARTH HAS PROVIDED ENOUGH OF HER RICHES TO MAKE US LIVE AND
SATISFY OUR NEEDS !!!
But what have we done??? Will we give it safely to our younger
generation?????
4. ARE WE DEALING THINGS PROPERLY !!!!
• Soil erosion and landslides
• Depletion of water table.
• Pollution
• Pesticide poisoning
• Global warming.
• Deforestation
• Loss of biodiversity
5. Challenges of agriculture in developing world
Nepal imported agricultural commodities
worth 1 kharb, 6 arab, 42 crores 26 lakhs
14th plan on its way
6. What if the nature thinks as you are thinking
now?????
• In one day human breathe oxygen equivalent to 3 cylinders.
• The cost of each oxygen cylinder is Rs 700
• 1 day worth is Rs.2100
• It cost Rs. 766,500 for a year.
• The average life span is 70 years
• So the cost is Rs. 53,655,000 throughout the life.(>5 crore)
• TREE is providing it completely FREE
• Think TREES as a resource and stop rampant cutting of trees.
7. We are at loss!!!!! Think for your future
buddy……..
• A human breathes about 9.5 tonnes of air in a year.
• Oxygen only makes up about 23 per cent of that air, by mass.
• We only extract a little over a third of the oxygen from each breath.
• That works out to a total of about 740kg of oxygen per year.
• 1 tree roughly produces 100kg of oxygen per year.
• Which is, very roughly, seven or eight trees’ worth.
• World population estimates=7577130400
• Trees required=60,617,043,200 (60 b, 617 m, 43k, 200)
• We are removing 15 B /yr but planting only 5B/yr
8. Plastics: matter to worry about !!!!
• Every year more than 500 billions plastic bags are used.
• Over 1 million plastic bags are used in a minute
• 12 million barell of oil is used to produce 30 billion plastic bags in a
year.
• Average use time of a bag is only 12 MINUTES!!!!
• They are wasting energy and polluting our environment.
10. Agriculture is responsible for 75% of world’s deforestation
Agriculture is the largest contributor of non CO2 GHG
emission (56%)
2nd contributor after energy sector is agriculture,
forestry and other land use
Pesticide pollution and poisoning
11. Learn from
the past
Live the
present
& be
prepared for
better
tomorrow
Because……..
We have not inherited this world from our
ancestors but we have borrowed it from
our children
21. GHG emission from agriculture will be
controlled
•CH4 is more than 20 times as effective at
trapping heat as CO2, and N20 is about 300
times as effective as CO2
29. BUT…….
•Still a long way to go.
•Dream cannot be fulfilled in a single day.
•But concentrated effort is needed.
•Patience is need.
•And above all willpower is needed.
