• Environment is the physical and biological
factors along with their chemical interactions that
affect an organism or a group of organisms.
WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE?
• Environmental science the field of science that
studies the interactions of the physical, chemical
,biological and social components of the
environment and also the relationships and effects
of these components with the organisms in the
environment.

• Environment is very essential in every aspect
of life. All living beings are dependent upon the
environment. All the components required for survival
of living organisms are gained through environment.
• All the development of living creatures are done in
environment. For standardizing the quality of human
life, man uses the environment in different sectors of
development activities.
• Plant and animals are also dependent upon the
environment.

4. WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION?
•Environmental degradation is the deterioration of the
environment through depletion of resources such as air
,water and destruction of ecosystems and the extinction
of wildlife.

•It is defined as any change or disturbance to the
environment perceived to be deleterious.

•Acid rain occurs due to the presence
of certain pollutants in the
atmosphere.
• it can be caused due to combustion of
fossil fuels or rotting vegetation which
release sulfur dioxide and nitrogen
oxides into the atmosphere.
•Forest are natural sinks of
carbon dioxide and produce
fresh oxygen as well as helping in
regulating temperature and
rainfall.
•At present forests cover 30% of
the land but every year tree
cover is lost due to the growing
population demand for more
food, shelter and cloth.

•After b.sc I would like to join m.sc environmental
science so I can gain more detailed knowledge
about this field.
•Form my bachelor’s I have learned that
conservation and sustainable use of our
environment is our prime concern and so my goal
would be to spread the awareness about the same.
•I will join an environment conservation group and
will educate my surrounding people about
environment conservation through awareness
programmes.
