Question 2:
How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
Age: Young people
In society today, young people in the age
range of my target market (15-25) are seen as
out of control and rebellious.
Many music stars in that age group are huge
inspirations to many young people, they look
up to them like hero’s.
So as the rich and famous get more out of
control, so does our youth of today.
I have tried to represent this in my magazine,
as my photos are very wild and energetic. And
my article includes controversy and portrays
Hanna, my cover star, as out of control.
Gender: Females
As my magazine is a pop/R&B genre, my target
audience is mainly girls, as they tend to be more
interested in that type of music.
Most female music artists at the moment are
well known for wearing very little clothing in
music videos, the press, and magazines!
What they are wearing and how they are styled
seems to be more important than their actual
music.
And this is rubbing off onto young girls today, as
they look up to these artists, they feel that they
too have to wear revealing clothes and heavy
makeup to get noticed.
I have represented this in my magazine, as I have
styled Hanna’s hair and makeup over the top, as
well as putting her in crop-tops and shorts. I also
included in my article that she felt she had to
prioritise her looks over her music in order to get
attention.

product and why?
Distributor: Frontline
I would choose Frontline to
distribute my magazine.

Advertisements
I would advertise my magazine on
mainly:
• Social media
• National music channels
• YouTube adverts
Question 4:
Who would be the audience for
your media product?
These are 3 examples of who my magazine is aimed at. My target
market is 15-25 year olds, mainly females, who like pop/R&B
current music. By targeting this audience, I know that they will
enjoy my magazine as they are interested in the genre.
Question 5:
How did you attract/address your
audience?
Questionnaire
Before creating my magazine, I conducted a questionnaire and asked
20 people in my target audience. I asked questions that I thought
would help me while designing my magazine, so that I know what my
readers would prefer.
These are the some of the results I found:
Language
As my target audience are young people, I
needed to use appropriate language that
would appeal to the age group.
So I used quite informal and casual
language, as if they were listening to one
of their mates talking about their favourite
music. This will make my readers more
interested and engaged.
Images
To attract my young target
market I needed to make
my magazine eye-catching
and lively. So to help me
achieve that, I aimed to
take energetic and bright
photographs of Hanna to
include in my magazine.
By doing this, I can draw in
my readers as the age of my
target market are
interested in anything
controversial that will grab
their attention.
Rough cut feedback
To help understand how my audience view my magazine, I asked 3
members of my target market (females aged 15-25) what they thought of
my rough cut. This helped me to find out what my readers thought of my
magazine, so that I could take their advice and make the appropriate
changes for my final cut.

  • 6. Question 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?
  • 7. Age: Young people In society today, young people in the age range of my target market (15-25) are seen as out of control and rebellious. Many music stars in that age group are huge inspirations to many young people, they look up to them like hero’s. So as the rich and famous get more out of control, so does our youth of today. I have tried to represent this in my magazine, as my photos are very wild and energetic. And my article includes controversy and portrays Hanna, my cover star, as out of control.
  • 8. Gender: Females As my magazine is a pop/R&B genre, my target audience is mainly girls, as they tend to be more interested in that type of music. Most female music artists at the moment are well known for wearing very little clothing in music videos, the press, and magazines! What they are wearing and how they are styled seems to be more important than their actual music. And this is rubbing off onto young girls today, as they look up to these artists, they feel that they too have to wear revealing clothes and heavy makeup to get noticed. I have represented this in my magazine, as I have styled Hanna’s hair and makeup over the top, as well as putting her in crop-tops and shorts. I also included in my article that she felt she had to prioritise her looks over her music in order to get attention.

  • 12. Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?
  • 13. These are 3 examples of who my magazine is aimed at. My target market is 15-25 year olds, mainly females, who like pop/R&B current music. By targeting this audience, I know that they will enjoy my magazine as they are interested in the genre.
  • 14. Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
  • 15. Questionnaire Before creating my magazine, I conducted a questionnaire and asked 20 people in my target audience. I asked questions that I thought would help me while designing my magazine, so that I know what my readers would prefer. These are the some of the results I found:
  • 16. Language As my target audience are young people, I needed to use appropriate language that would appeal to the age group. So I used quite informal and casual language, as if they were listening to one of their mates talking about their favourite music. This will make my readers more interested and engaged.
  • 17. Images To attract my young target market I needed to make my magazine eye-catching and lively. So to help me achieve that, I aimed to take energetic and bright photographs of Hanna to include in my magazine. By doing this, I can draw in my readers as the age of my target market are interested in anything controversial that will grab their attention.
  • 18. Rough cut feedback To help understand how my audience view my magazine, I asked 3 members of my target market (females aged 15-25) what they thought of my rough cut. This helped me to find out what my readers thought of my magazine, so that I could take their advice and make the appropriate changes for my final cut.

  • 21. Photography While taking my photographs, I learned a lot about photography and how to take an appealing image for my magazine. From simple things like lighting and focus, to more advanced components like focus and shutter speed.
