1. Q2: How does my media product
represent particular social groups?
2. My magazine represents many social groups within:
age, gender, class and groups.
These social groups represent the magazine and the genre I chose. I
have certain features that interest certain people from the different
category's.
3. It is clear from my magazine that the main age group my magazine is
aimed at is teenagers, this is due to the use of bright bold colours
and the featured artists in my magazine such as Justin Bieber,
Ariana Grande etc. An older audience wouldn`t know who these
artists were which gives a good hint as to who my magazine is aimed
at. As well as this the idea of free posters and gifts would appeal to
teenagers and younger people more than adults. As well as this the
photos on my magazine are all young people, this would appeal to a
teenage audience as they can relate to the age range. My magazine
also is busy and bustled with information and pictures which is more
of a preferred layout for teenagers as it draws them in because of the
used of a busy layout.; whereas something blank and bare would not
interest their tastes. The use of social media information would also
interest younger generations as it is something used 89% by
teenagers from the age of 18-29.
Also I used the use of a plug this captures the younger audience
attention as going to a concert is more of a teenage form of
entertainment. I also have pages that are mention in my contents
page telling my audience about the recent top charts which is
something teenagers are interested in keeping up with.
Everything I included was based on my market research showing
that the age range was 67.80% between the ages 16-19 years.
Age:
4. The gender I chose to aim my magazine at is mostly a female
audience. This is due to my market research showing that
78.58% of people who were interested in my magazine were
female. Also as being a female myself I thought it would be
better for me to base my magazine on the female gender as I
know more about it. My magazine uses mostly bright, bold
colour pallet such as purples and pinks these colours are
associates with the female gender. Also the use or mentioned
artists such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus,
Halsey etc. all interest primarily the female gender. On the other
hand these artists and the colour choice could also interest
males as well which is why I don't specify the gender 100%.
I also based my interview on a successful female pop star, this
would be something that teenage girls could relate to better than
a male celebrity. This would interests their likes more than a
males possibly.
The females that do read this magazine would follow the stereo
type of a more girly pop girl vs. a more rock interested girl.
Gender:
Female
5. Social class:
As my magazine is aimed at a younger generation it is hard to
put them into a class as they don't have jobs and depends on
family roots. My magazine is aimed at any social class who
wants to read it, I don't think social class has much of an impact
on who buys the magazine, it is more based on personal
preference. I would say my magazine would be aimed mostly at
the working and middle class as that is the most popular social
class group. Due to the genre of music being pop I don't think
the upper class would be stereo typically interested in classical
music. Also the artist used are ones mostly like by the working
or middle class within society.
I also made my magazine a cheaper prices as it appeals more
to the working and middle classes as it is an affordable
magazine to purchase. The colour scheme and design layout is
busy and interesting something that these classes will be
interested in as magazines are used to pass the time which is
possibly why they're more popular within the working and upper
classes.
I feel however that my magazine is open to any class that would
and to purchase it, as I said previously a person isn't judged by
their class and it is all about personal preference.

6. Social groups:My magazine is aimed at the pop genre, the stereo types within
this genre tend to be the more popular confident people who
tend to be conformists. The people tend to listen to pop music
and are interested in pop music and artists. My magazine is
bright and colourful to represent the social group that would read
my magazine. The girl on my cover is wearing what is shown to
be current modern clothing for the time that most teenagers
would wear, the girly kind of appearance. The two boys on my
contents also wearing branded clothing showing the more
popular conformists to current fashion ideals.
The use of these photos and the colour scheme would appeal to
my stated stereo type as it is bright and bold and would attract
them and it has the topics they would mostly be interested in
such as Justin Bieber and the top charts.
My article is something they also might relate to as it is about a
young working class girl who has made it successfully and
dressed and looks the similar way to my targeted social group.
