Warm Up-
Get out your stations work. Clear your desk and go to
the station you left off at
Objective
 Students will be able to describe the functions of the
circulatory system
Circulatory System

Circulatory system stations
 Station 1-Circulatory System Reading and 2
column notes
 Station 2- The Heart
 Station 3- The circulatory System Matching
 Station 4-Circulatory System Worksheet
 Station 5-Finding your heart rate
 Finish any work from this activity
Circulatory System Foldable

 How does this system work with other systems? (need
a lot of space)
 What else do we know?

Wrap Up
 Answer on blank sheet of paper
provided
 There are 5 functions of the
circulatory system. List them on
the piece of paper.
Warm Up-
How does the circulatory
system interact with other body
systems?
Objective
 Students will be able to connect the interactions
between the circulatory system and the other body
systems.
Circulatory System Packet
 Go over each page
 Collect
Parts of the Circulatory System
 Heart
 Blood vessels
 Blood
Heart
 Hollow muscular organ
that pumps blood
throughout the body
 About the size of your fist
 Located in the center of
your chest
 Each time the heart beats,
it pushes blood through
the blood vessels
Blood Vessels
 Arteries- blood vessels that
carry blood away from the
heart
 Capillaries- tiny blood vessels
where substances are
exchanged between the blood
and body cells
 Veins- blood vessels that carry
blood back to the heart
Blood
 Made up of four components- plasma, red blood cells,
white blood cells, platelets
 45% of blood is cells, the rest is plasma
Plasma
 the liquid part of blood
 90% water, 10% dissolved materials
 Carries most of the
carbon dioxide from
the cells
Red Blood Cells
 Take oxygen from the lungs and distributes it to cells
throughout the body
 Produced in bone marrow
 Made mostly of hemoglobin
White Blood Cells
 Body’s disease fighters (immune system)
 Either alert the body of disease and bacteria or fight
disease and bacteria
 Fewer than red blood cells 1:500
 Larger
Platelets
 Cell fragments that help in forming blood clots
 Collect and stick together

 pumps blood throughout the body, takes oxygen
and needed materials to the cells, takes waste and
carbon dioxide away from the cells, carries white
blood cells, Regulates body temperature
 Heart, blood vessels, blood
 digestive system- take nutrients to cells;
respiratory system- takes oxygen to the cells,
carbon dioxide away from the cells; immune
system- carries white blood cells; skeletal system-
red blood cells are made in bones; muscular
system- heart is made up of cardiac muscle that’s
continuously contracts;
 Aorta is the largest artery; 3 types of blood vessels
( capillaries, arteries, veins); oxygen rich
blood(red) and oxygen poor blood( blue);
capillaries are where the exchange is happening
between oxygen rich blood and oxygen poor blood;
blood has 4 parts- plasma, platelets, red blood
cells, white blood cells; heart has 2 atriums and 2
ventricles; 2 sides of the heart- 1 red blood 1 blue
blood
Wrap Up Questions
1. How do the circulatory and respiratory systems
interact with each other?
2. How do the circulatory and digestive systems interact
with each other?
3. What process connects all three systems? Explain
your answer
Warm Up-
What path is blood taking through the body? What is
happening with the blood as it travels to each place?
Objective
 Students will be able to summarize the parts and
functions of the digestive, circulatory and respiratory
systems, and identify how they interact with one
another.

 Mouth, esophagus, stomach, small
intestine, large intestine, rectum, anus;
liver, gallbladder, pancreas
 Breaks down food into smaller
molecules; absorbs molecules into blood
through the small intestine and carried
throughout the body; wastes are
eliminated from the body
 Circulatory System-Nutrients are
absorbed into the bloodstream and
blood takes them throughout the body
to the cells; Muscular System- stomach is
made up of muscle
 Liver produces bile, gallbladder stores
bile, liver, pancreas, gallbladder are not
apart of the path of food; mechanical
and chemical digestion; uses nutrients
for cellular respiration

Review Packet for Quiz
 Use your notes to complete the Review packet. You
may work as a group. Finish for homework
Warm Up-
List three facts that you know about one of the three
systems we have talked about so far.
What do you still have questions about?
Objective
 Students will be able to summarize the parts and
functions of the digestive, circulatory and respiratory
systems, and identify how they interact with one
another.

Human Body BINGO
 Use words to fill in BINGO card
 All of the words WILL NOT be used
Warm Up-
Get out your Review Packet to go over.
Start reviewing with your group.
Objective
 Students will be able to demonstrate their
understanding of the functions of the circulatory,
respiratory, and digestive systems, and how these
systems interact with one another
Quiz
 Take your Time
 Read EVERYTHING CAREFULLY
 Use Process of Elimination if you do not know.
 ASK if you do no understand the questions
 Flip your quiz over when you are done
 Read!
