2. Iconography- One iconic feature of the poster is the outlining
of the eagle in the image and part of each band members
face in close up. The eagle could show their American roots
as a band and can also imply characteristics of the band e.g
freedom, power. By having the main image in a darker color
than the text it allows the text to stand out to the audience.
An owl is also nocturnal which has synergy with the album
name which adds to its effectiveness and also the ‘night
vision’ colors of the main image. By having all four member
split into 4 to make a whole could imply the strength of the
bands relationship. The dark colors can also imply the genre
as darker colors are associated with rock over other genres.

4. The text is the brightest parts of the poster, the text is all in
capitals which infers a dominant tone and stands out. They
also have included some singles of the album on the advert.
This is effective as it may persuade an audience who don’t
know the band but knows one of the singles want to buy the
album. The masthead of the name of the band makes it stand
out over all the other pieces of text. There isn’t a lot of text in
the advert but it shows all the important information needed
to spread the news of the album. The use of colour is the
same throughout however the ‘out now’ is in red which again
makes it stand out over surrounding text.
