1. All the legal
information on the
front cover for
Paramore is hidden
within different sized
text that repeats the
CD’s name.
The font used on
My Chemical
Romances cover is
extremely
different and
really stands out
which is
something I like. I
also like how the
colours contrast.
On this cover, the
contrast has been
altered to create a
colourful feel to the
cover which really
makes it stand out.
This cover is simple, but really
stands out due to it’s dark
background and different
coloured fonts, which are all
simple and makes the case
clear, with not too much
going on.
I like how a cartoon has
been used on this cover and
it doesn’t specifically give
away the genre of the
music. It also makes the
music genre seem fun and
energetic.
For this cover,
the blue is used
for both the
artists name and
a filter on the
image of the
artists. Adding a
calm, cool
feeling to cover.
On this cover,
the artist is
the focal
point, which is
something we
wish to take
inspiration
from. It shows
the star image
of the artist.
Here the font relates
to filter used on the
image, as they look
like they are from a
different time
period.
The name of the album relates to the
image on the album which I think makes
the cover extremely effective at
advertising it’s self.
Although most of this cover is
in black and white there is a
small amount of colour which
draws you in to certain parts
of the cover, which is
extremely effective.
This cover is simple
but stands out due to
the font used as it’s
something different
and with the white
background, the
attention of the eyes
are drawn straight to
the bands name.
On this cover, the
colours used on the
images of the band
make them really
stand out and look
exciting and fresh.
This then contrasts
with the black
lettering of the
bands name which
also makes that
highly stand out.
2. The bright coloured image and
title contrasts against the black
background and makes these
really stand out which draws in
the audience.
The pixelated images are of the band members on
this cover, which is a good way of showing star
image, but through a different, more creative way
and I really like this as it makes it look unique.
On this cover, the
black and white
create a nice effect
which goes with the
image on the cover,
as a gangster style
image, with
matching colours,
making the cover
look different to
what it is actually is,
hip hop.
This cover
focuses on the
artists and
promotes
them.
This cover is cartoon
and doesn’t give
much away about
the genre of the
music until you see
to font at the
bottom left as it is a
stereotypical hip
hop font which fits
well with the genre.
This cover also
uses cartoons,
however the
name of the
album also
relates to the
cartoon image,
again not giving
anything away
about the genre
of the music.
The artist is the focal
point of this cover, which
is something we wish to
create for our digipak.
On this cover, a parental
advisory is given, to warn
people about the contents of
the music, which is something
we will need to include, due to
our track containing a swear
word.
3. For this cover, the
background is black
which makes the
brightly coloured
album name really
stand out,
especially as it’s in
different colours.
This one is extremely simple,
but effective at the same
time. The font used stands
out due to it’s colour but also
displays the genre of this
music well.
I like this cover as
rather than the
background being
black and white,
it’s brightly
coloured which
then contrasts
against the black
and white image
of the artist,
which makes
them really stand
out. Also, the font
used is different
and fits well with
the genre.
This cover again, focuses
purely on the artists and
their star image.
This cover is plain but
complex at the same
time as there is in
image at the bottom
of an applause given
by a crowd who do
not look as though
they would be listen
to hip hop music so
this contrasts with
the genre. I also like
font used, as one
letter is backwards,
perhaps to portray
the backwardness of
this cover as it
contrasts it’s genre.
Like the Dizzee
Rascal cover, this
cover contrasts
the background
and the images
of the artists
which makes
them really
stand out and
make the cover
look aesthetically
pleasing.
4. Legal information (front)
A parental advisory
A parental advisory is a label given by
the Recording Industry Association of
America to audio recordings in
the America containing excessive use of
profane language and/or sexual
references.
This is something we may need to used
due to the swear word in our chosen
tracks lyrics.
