A simple policy that any country can follow that can transform it from nothing; to the world's most
powerfulest nation, yet should it be done? Imperialism is a policy in which a country or nation
follows imperialistic views in which they spread their influence through diplomacy or military force
throughout an area, yet continue on pushing their influence when self–sufficient. Yet Imperialism
was a policy that many nations did not follow as they were sufficient already, yet the few that had

Limitations Of Travelling
The ability to travel anywhere, whether it is in your own country, or to another place abroad, is a
privilege that is sometimes hard for others to accept. Being able to travel can often teach you more
than a job, relationship, or a lecture ever will, which is contrary to popular belief. Likewise, it is also
most certainly a gift to have the ability to experience the wonders of the outside world. However,
there are many people out there who feel that they are not in the position to be able to travel due to
various reasons. Reasons such as politics between countries and simply being able to afford
traveling are some of the main issues. Authors Natalie Thomas and Hannah Peterson, both addresses
the positive reasons of why people should travel. Whereas, Lisa van Beurden and Oneika Raymond
comment on the limitations of traveling. Thomas and Peterson, both who are in favor in traveling,
has accumulated many reasons why one should travel. They both believe that traveling allows
people to "stretch the limits of [their] comfort zone" (Thomas). The authors think that this is
beneficial to people because even though they may be immersed in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable
surrounding, they will often find something positive to make out in the situation. Ultimately, people

"The Country Just over the Fence"
In his essay "The Country Just over the Fence," Paul Theroux describes his trip to Nogales, Mexico.
He begins his essay by illustrating the physical appearance of the wall separating Nogales, Arizona
and Nogales, Mexico. He calls it "an unintentional masterpiece". Theroux feels the wall is somewhat
informal. He discovers that crossing the border into Mexico is not too difficult itself. He marvels
over the appearance of the wall and also the underlying call to action it places on a person, "Do you
go through, or stay home?" Theroux decided he needed to see for himself. After deciding to cross
the border, he met many different people. They told him about the celebrations that used to be held
between the two neighboring towns which are now divided by the wall. Theroux also met people
who had attempted to cross the border illegally into America only to get sent back to Mexico. On his
adventure, Theroux also learned about all the medical tourists who travel to the country for cheaper
treatments, specifically dentistry. I am interested in discussing Theroux's presentation of the his

The World Of A Capitalistic Society
Living in a capitalistic society, we are constantly bombarded with the notion of buying from large
brand named corporations in order to save money. But I bring up the question, is this really helping
you and your family in the end, or the billionaires living at the top? Large corporations allow for
small businesses to essentially diminish before our very eyes. While buying from stores such as
Walmart, Target, and Home Depot, you are stripping away business production that can be done
here on American soil. As our economy is depleting itself and we extend ourselves higher into debt,
the only people we have to blame are the consumers. By buying from local produce stands and
farmers markets, we cut the cost of travel time and the resources needed to get to the store. Buying
local can also bring money into the community while the food is healthier and fresher for the family
to enjoy. As times grow tough for American families, we are constantly in search for products to fit
our needs, while also fitting the bill. What numerous consumers don't realize is that by spending a
few extra cents on vegetables or clothing made in the community, we are not only providing an
income for our people but we can become sustainable as well. Sustainability is key to becoming a
prosperous nation. By cutting our dependence off of major countries like China, this will not only

international consensus can lead to unfortunate circumstances such as trade embargos and even arm

internationally in many ways. Since every country has its own culture and values that differ from

In Addition to this Great Brittan had no harm done to it and actually had gained another ally to
themselves, which is a good thing for a country to have. Breaking away from Great Brittan allowed
Canada to grow with lots of people and diversity, which allowed for a different culture and

In many societies in america people fall into one of three categories, a nationalist, globalist, or
hybrid. The nationalist is a person who tends to prioritize their own country over others on many
world matters. The globalist is looking out for the betterment of the world at large, therefore, they
have a world view. Then the hybrid who picks and chooses whatever seems best at the time. While
nationalism seems like it will pay off at times a country will end up being either selfish or a bully to
other countries. This will likely lead too few large world powers that don't care about other
countries, unless the other country can provide benefit to them. Globalism, while sounding nice in
theory, it will be difficult for it to be effective unless the entire world is on board and for many
reasons that isn't realistic. One of the reasons is that each person has a different culture, religion, or

Is America A Beautiful Country
Some might say that America is a beautiful country, and that it is filled with freedom and hard work,
but is it truly? After some quick research, I have come to disagree. Even though we are a powerful
country, we seem to be divided amongst our people by some particular reasons. After some further
research, I have come to conclude that these reasons are;Political problems, unhealthy food, and the
fact that other countries have what we have. You may be thinking, "How would this cause someone
to leave the country, and how could some of these reasons separate us as a country?" Well, I think so
for these particular reasons.
Starting off, it is a known fact that politics affect everyday life. So if you have political problems,
than it is going to have a negative impact on everyday life. Not only that, but it covers such broad
aspect of life, and will affect almost EVERY SINGLE PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. To give an
example, if there are bias and inequality in politics, it will definitely affect the people on the other
end of the sword. Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ's.
Racism has been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery
to segregation, it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now
that segregation is illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn't as big as a
problem, people think that racism doesn't exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can't
kill a culture with laws, and this isn't an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister's friend's
mom wouldn't allow her to go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have
both been called derogatory and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in
the Las Vegas shooting to help, but she wouldn't allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless
videos online of people being racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn't let her child be
seen by a black doctor, and one woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. An
epidemic of unarmed young black males have been getting shot and killed by police for almost no

On September 19, 1796, President George Washington delivered his farewell address, stating the
dangers the new nation would face. In his address he would give advice for the happiness of the
nation. Washington dedicates a large portion of his farewell address about explaining foreign

My Experience In My Life
I was 6 years old when I got the news that me and my family were moving to Portugal for a few
years. It was my first time on an airplane, my dad had recently got a job in Portugal and we all
moved there to stay close to him because it would be a few years. I was having the best of times on
that airplane and couldn't wait to land in a different country, for the first time as well. I had an
amazing childhood, we ended up staying five and a half years in Portugal. In these five and a half
years, we were able to travel a lot inside Europe because it was practical and very cheap. We
traveled throughout Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Austria,
and Andorra. We even went to Morocco because it was very close to Portugal, and it was one of the
best trips I ever had taken. After all of this, I fell in love with traveling.
I already felt blessed for having such a great opportunity so early in my life, but when my dad's
contract was over in Portugal, he was offered a job in London, England. That was amazing news for
all of us because we were able to stay together as a family, once again in another country. For me
this was the best thing ever, I speak fluent English now because of this opportunity that my dad had
and was able to take us with him. We stayed in London for one year, that's how long his contract
was. When I was in England, I had the chance to travel to the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and to

Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ's. Racism has been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery to segregation, it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now that segregation is illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn't as big as a problem, people think that racism doesn't exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can't kill a culture with laws, and this isn't an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister's friend's mom wouldn't allow her to go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have both been called derogatory and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in the Las Vegas shooting to help, but she wouldn't allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless videos online of people being racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn't let her child be seen by a black doctor, and one woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. I had an amazing childhood, we ended up staying five and a half years in Portugal. In these five and a half years, we were able to travel a lot inside Europe because it was practical and very cheap. We traveled throughout Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Austria, and Andorra. We even went to Morocco because it was very close to Portugal, and it was one of the best trips I ever had taken. After all of this, I fell in love with traveling. I already felt blessed for having such a great opportunity so early in my life, but when my dad's contract was over in Portugal, he was offered a job in London, England. That was amazing news for all of us because we were able to stay together as a family, once again in another country. For me this was the best thing ever, I speak fluent English now because of this opportunity that my dad had and was able to take us with him. We stayed in London for one year, that's how long his contract was. When I was in England, I had the chance to travel to the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and to the Czech Republic.
