1. 3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I think IPC will be the best media institution to distribute my magazine, I believe this as
IPC have been round for many years and are a very successful media institution. This
is because they have distributed well known magazines such as NME.
I believe IPC will have very good knowledge as well as experience in helping to
distribute my magazine due to the success they already have. I believe distributing a
magazine in the mainstream pop genre will also broaden their target audience.
As well as IPC I think other media institutions such as BAUER to publish my magazine
as they are also successful as they have published magazines such as Mojo and
Kerrang. I believe these magazines that BAUER have already distributed to come
under the rock genre which is a completely different genre to my magazine, so my
magazine may be less successful if it was distributed with this media institution.
I believe my magazine will be more successful if it was distributed with IPC, this is
because they have already distributed magazines with a similar genre. This will allow
my magazine to be more successful with this media institution as they will have more
background knowledge on the genre of my magazine as well as being a successful
institution.
