IPC Media and Bauer Media are potential media institutions that could distribute the magazine. IPC Media distributes NME, a popular magazine among the target audience. As a large UK media company, IPC Media also provides more advertising options. Bauer Media is another possibility as they publish magazines like Q and have experience in the field, though they currently distribute few pop magazines, allowing an opportunity. Choosing one of these established distribution companies would help get the magazine advertised and available to readers.

2. I will produce my magazine as it will benefit my
target audience (mainly people without jobs)
as it will be much cheaper for them. By doing
this I can include more information in the
magazine as I will have months worth of
gossip etc.
I have tried to encourage brand loyalty by
including a ‘Subscribe now’ section in my
magazine, this can be found on the contents
page. Subscribing means they will receive the
magazine each month as it will be delivered to
their house. This encourages continuous
reading.

3. Ways the audience can find the magazine
• My magazine would have its very own website where
readers could come and visit the page to find out more
about the magazine etc.
• A monthly subscription service
• Accounts on social networking sites such as Facebook,
Twitter and Instagram so that I could get my magazine
‘trending’ and also upload sneak peaks of next months
magazine to entice new customers.
• I would also create an app that is exclusive to readers
only. This can make them feel special and they are able
to talk to fellow magazine readers too.

4. I have chose to use IPC media as my magazine
distributor. This is because ‘NME’ use them as a
publisher, which is a popular magazine with my
audience, and they are one of the leading media
institutions in the UK.
As well as this, because they are a well-known
distribution company, there should be more
advertising options available to me so I can
therefore get my magazine ‘out there’ much
more easily.
I also think that Bauer media is another
distribution company I could use. This is
because they are a popular and well known
publisher as they have lots of experience with
magazines such as Q. I would choose to use
these as they currently do not publish many pop
magazines and I feel there would be a gap in the
market that I could exploit.
