Film Genre (type of film and
your reasons for choosing this
genre?)
The genre I will be doing is slasher horror. I chose this horror this
genre because I have some experience with creating horror movie
posters and story boards so this could help me.
Synopsis of Idea (visual content
– style, use of colour, settings,
props, costumes, lighting etc)
Narrative- a new family will move into a new home, but some of
their darkest secrets about their past will be revealed.
Characters-A mother, two teenage daughters and a murderer.
Setting- a house.
Props-blood and weapons including a knife.
Lighting-low key.
Target Audience?
(demographic NOT age range)
My target audience will be students, teenagers and young adults.
Also, they will be female and male and include all cultures and
race. I have chosen these demographics because a younger
audience is the most common and popular for this type of genre.
Also, I feel that what is featured in my opening title sequence will
appeal to a younger audience.
How will your project meet the
needs of your target audience?
This will appeal to my target audience because I will use
appropriate language and will not use and racist comments or
slang. Also, my title sequence will include scary scenes and
features; this will be done by including loud, tense dramatic
music, a dark setting such as a house or the woods and it will also
feature believable scenes.
What will you film opening
title credits look like? (How will
they appear on screen? Where
will they be positioned? How
will they animate? What style
of font/typography?)
In order for my opening title sequence to be effective I will need
to include certain features such as the colour will be red this
signifies blood. My title credits will be positioned in the middle of
the screen and will be fast paced. When entering and exiting the
screen they will be splattered on to look like blood.
