Hollywood Illusions In The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West, illusion verse reality is one of the
main themes of the novel. Hollywood is known for it's acting, but the town and everyone that inhibit
it seem to get carried away with trying to be something they aren't. Nothing is really indigenous in
Hollywood and everything is borrowed from another place. The houses have been designed to look
like Irish cottages, Spanish villas, or Southern plantations while the characters often imagine

In recent years, clown sightings have become quite common to see in news and social media. It is a
phenomenon in which a group of people dressing up as evil clowns in incongruous settings near

Have you ever been so engrossed in a movie that you felt like you were one of the characters? Star
Wars fans are a prime example of this phenomenon. Many fans flock to the theater wearing
costumes. Another example that may help identify transportation is the audience participation in the
movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Fans would not only dress as one of the characters, but they
would interact with props while the moving was being played. Being so engaged in a movie makes
one feel as if they have been transported into the place they are watching. According to the article,

My Fear Of Clowns
Since I was little, I would be terrified of clowns. I would avoid them at all cost from pretending to
be sick to misbehaving and getting grounded just so I will have an excuse as to why I did not attend
birthday parties or any event that I presumed would involve the attendance of a clown. I never told
anyone of said fear for the reason that I would be treated differently and looked upon as weak. I
always kept it to myself hoping that one day it would magically disappear but it never did. As the
years passed, my phobia of clowns prodigiously increased to the point I would have panic attacks
from merely the thought of myself being in the presence of one. My compulsion of continuous
denial came to an end when my phobia of clowns was clearly evident. Autumn had just commenced
so the leaves began to change from stunning lime green to a beautiful golden yellow. The wind
furiously blew everything in its course without remorse. Although windy, the weather was
unexpectedly warm. The sun's rays were almost blinding in the cloudless pellucid blue sky. Yet,
