Question 6
1. What have you learnt about Technologies from the Process of Constructing this product?
2. Youtube Youtube was very useful in helping us to publish our final opening on our blog. The embedding function allows us to share it on our blog, plus allows others to watch it online which promotes our opening. Youtube also enabled us to look at other thriller and to take screenshots, which we were then able to use in order to compare our final product with other thrillers that have been produced. Therefore, it also helped with ideas and enabled us to analyse certain thriller characteristics which we could also use.
3. Prezi Prezi contains visual, unique functions in which I can use in order to create a slide show, which can then also be embedded into my blog. Prezi was very simple to use and contained many functions, including a drawing tool, which allowed me to personalise the presentation.
4. Imovie This was used for the majority of our editing in our opening scene. It allows us to create slide transitions and other various effects which can improve the visual aspects of our opening. This was very useful as they helped to create enigma and carry through thriller conventions, however we did experience a few minor difficulties with the programme such as where we wanted the transitions placed.
5. Garageband Garageband was an audio tool that we used, this allowed us to record plus had a playback function. This tool was helpful as it allowed us to record the voice over that was use in out final opening. It also allowed us to change and alter the pitch of the voice over if we chose to do so.
6. Camera and tripod The camera and the tripod were very difficult at first for me to use, this was as I have never previously used one before. However after a while it was very easy to create a series of different shots with the camera. We managed a different range of shots for our opening by using these pieces of equipment (close-ups, medium shots, long shots) they also allowed us to control the amount of natural light, which was quite difficult. The tripod was sometimes tricky to set up and could be quite time-consuming when trying to ensure the tripod was balanced evenly, however worked well when balanced evenly.
7. Tracks I found this the easiest piece of equipment that we used, as it allowed a smooth and even shot, plus was easy to fit together and quick to pack away. The tracks enabled us to create the scene whereby we are showing a close-up of the psychology bookshelf, this was good for our opening as it immediately notifies the viewer of one of the topics in the film.
