The environmental problems and of current public health of the I handle
inadequate of the garbage, they are one of the more critics of the urban centers with that the
authorities and the society are confronted in most of the municipal districts. In general, the
solutions adopted for attenuation of the problem have the purpose of modifying the
collection methods, transport and destiny and treatment dice to the solid residues.
According to EGREJA FILHO & PEREIRA NETO (1985), the treatment through the
processing compound of the organic fraction of the urban garbage, associated biologically
to the recycle of the part inert (plastics, glasses, and other), it has been highlighting him as
one of the methods more appropriate ecological, in the sense of solving the serious problem
of the garbage in the world. In countries as Brazil, where the medium text of organic matter
arrives at 60%, the compostagem shows to be a convenient solution for the treatment of the
garbage and it has been adopted at the Country, in face of the countless offered advantages,
besides the possibility to obtain in some of those processes a high efficiency and low cost.
The present work has as objective to evaluate the interface econômica/ambiental of the
production, disposition and use of the organic composition in the System of
2. Beneficiamento of Irajá(COMLURB), in the Municipal district of Rio de Janeiro. Besides
knowing the composition he/she meets polluted with dangerous chemical substances. The
method used to reach the established objective consists in:1 essentially - Compilation of
data of processing of urban solid residues and accomplishment of interviews with technical
and/or employees involved with the subject.2 - Accomplishment chemical analyses of
samples of organic composition, for the Center of Researches of COMLURB and by the
Laboratory of the Department of Geochemistry of the UFF, contemplating among other the
following physical parameters ,químicos and physical-chemical: heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Pb,
Cd, Cr, Ni, Fe and Hg); pH; nutritious(K, Ca, N-total, P-available, organic matter and
relationships); humidity ;granulometria and sílica text. The heavy metal (Hg), it is being
analyzed by the Laboratory of the Department of Geochemistry the UFF.3–Use of the
bibliographies (DINIZ, M. B., 1997) and (MOTTA, R. S. ,1998 / IPEA), as subsidy in the
development of the methodology (it leaves economic) in the dissertação.From this way,
intends to show some lifted up information until the moment, on the beneficiamento of
solid residues and of the organic composition produced in Mill of Irajá.Vale to highlight,
that the information generated in the work, they can be incorporate the lines of research of
the Program of Environmental Geochemistry of UFF.
