IPC would be an appropriate publisher for a new music magazine because they publish a wide range of magazines that reach large audiences across many genres of music. While IPC typically focuses on more mainstream magazines like NME, they also publish niche magazines and have experience in the indie genre. However, publishing with IPC may not be advisable since they already publish the similar NME magazine. Bauer could be an alternative publisher since they publish magazines in the indie genre space like Kerrang! and Q.

Question 3 evaluation
1.
2. IPC are appropriate publishers for a new music magazine
because they associate with a huge range of magazines
and they produce various magazines. They also associate
with a massive amount of audiences and different genres
so they would definitely be appropriate for a publisher of a
new music magazine
The sorts of music/type of magazines they would be likely
to publish are mainstream magazines that target large
audiences’ such as ‘NME’, and seeing as my magazine is
very similar to ‘NME’ it makes sense to have them publish
it as they have much experience behind the indie genre.
However ‘IPC’ still offer magazines in to Niche audiences
such as: Bird Keeper, Nuts, Classic Boat and many more
magazines.
3. Bauer may be an alternative on
the other hand, as they publish
magazines such as KERRANG!
and Q, so there’s a gap for an
indie style magazine.
IPC already has an indie
magazine called ‘NME’, and so it
would be very unlikely that they
would take on another one, due
to the fact that they wouldn’t get
as much demand because of the
similarity.
