examines where laws come from.
We shall take notes along the way about different types of
crimes.
We’ll examine the difference between Civil Law (private
stuff) and Criminal Law ( public stuff)
We’ll end by completing picture activity on page 104 in your
activity book (which shall be your homework should we not
complete it in class).

(note) Laws are there to ensure order, safety, peace and justice for
all people. They protect Human Rights.
(note) Judges make ‘common law’.
(note) Governments and the Constitution affect our ‘Supreme
Law’.
(note) Local Authorities make ‘by-laws’ for their own areas.
(note) International Law is managed by the UN. This aims to help
countries work together and maintain peace.
