The document summarizes the student's experiences in their SERP 197B Exhibition Assessment course. It highlights three positive experiences: 1) A presentation they did on someone significant to their service site that inspired future opportunities in education. 2) Participating in Cyclovia Tucson and seeing how it brought the community together. 3) Realizing the class was not a "blow off" class and helped inspire them to improve as a teacher through new lessons incorporating service learning. The student also notes how service learning has changed their views on incorporating subjects into service and their plans to work with education non-profits.
5. • I don’t honestly care.
• I didn’t hate the blog, but I wasn’t super
enthusiastic about it either.
• However, it was nice to have all of the
assignments in one place.
• I know dates were listed in the syllabus but it
was hard to keep track of all the due dates
sometimes.

7. My first semester
highlight was the
presentations that we
did over someone that
was significant related
to our service sight.
The reason this was so significant for me is
that it is related directly to my field.
Education is awful and not even offered in
some countries and Adam Braun dedicated
his life to helping those in need to get an
education. I have an opportunity to go with
PoP to India this summer, would’ve never
had this opportunity without this
assignment.
8. The second highlight of my
semester was Cyclovia Tucson. It
was so much fun and I plan to go
again in November if I’m in Tucson.
The reason this was a
highlight was because it
showed me how much
an event like this means
to a community and how
a community can come
together to create a
possible change. I
convinced almost my
entire 5th grade class to
go to the event.
9. My third highlight is overall this course
in general.
In all honesty I thought this class was going to be a
blow off class and I wouldn’t really have to pay
attention to get an A. I was happily surprised that
was not the case. This class inspired me to improve
myself as a teacher and incorporate new things into
my lessons.
10. • As a teacher it’s hard not to think about the future
lessons that you are going to make.
• Service learning has changed the ways that I view certain
subjects and how they can be incorporated with service
learning.
• I plan to work with education non-profits during the
summers once I enter the work force.
• I have a job in Georgia and had a 4 hour Skype call with
the principal there discussing service learning and he
absolutely loves it and even if I don’t end up teaching
there he’s going to incorporate it into the school and all
grades.
