The Importance Of Uniforms In Caddo Parish Schools
INTRODUCTION
All 71 schools within the Caddo Parish School District should be required to abide by the uniform policy that has been set by the Caddo Parish School
Board for the upcoming 2016–2017 school year. Currently, 87% of the schools require their students to wear uniforms. The acceptance of this universal
dress code proposal would bring equality and a sense of belonging throughout the district while increasing security measures at the nine schools who
currently do not follow this policy.
POSITION
Presently, there are 42,000 students enrolled in Caddo Parish schools, which is a 25 percent increase from the 41,894 students enrolled during the
2010–2011 academic year (CABL.Org, 2013). 6% of these students currently are not required

Marrero Case Study
Boundaries and Demographics
Marrero is a small city located in southeastern Louisiana and located roughly fifteen miles outside of New Orleans. It is part of Jefferson Parish,
which encompasses smaller cities just like it and its wedged between the two cities Westwego and Harvey. According to the 2010 census, Marrero had
a population of 33,141. This number has most likely increased significantly since the latest census results (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). The
predominant age group in city's population is between the ages of forty–five and forty–nine with females making up the majority of the population.

Sidewalks line all the roads in Marrero are in adequate condition, but there are no bike lanes increasing the probability of accidents occurring between
both parties. All housing units in Marrero have specific green trash carts that are dumped only onTuesdays and Fridays. Driving around the area I
haven't seen one home with a blue recycle bin, which could pose increased levels of pollutants in the environment. Jefferson Sanitary landfill is located
about eighteen miles away in Waggaman, Louisiana (Jefferson Parish, n.d.)
Education and Services There is eighteen primary and primary and secondary school in Marrero, twelve are public schools and six are private
Catholic schools. The Jefferson Parish Public School System obtain a letter grade of a B for increasing its district's performance score for the
2014–2015 school year. Sadly, the majority of the public schools in Marrero received a grade of a C or D. There are three parks in Marrero; Estelle,
Pard, and Kings Grant all of which provide sports such football, basketball, baseball, volleyball all year round for both adolescents and teens to

Life Is A Tragic Loss Of A Classmate
No matter how old or young we are, we have all had adversities to face. Whether good or bad, some are more difficult than others. Mine just so
happens to be a tragic loss of a classmate. In 2013, Dillon Jamal Neal was just starting his junior year of high school. Proudly wearing number
fifty–five on Friday nights, Dillon played defensive end for the Ouachita Parish Lions in what we call, The Lion's Den. He had such a lighthearted
spirit that you cherish knowing someone like him forever. He was an angel who walked amongst the Earth, that God called home to honor Dillon
with a pair of wings he earned. It has been four years since he left the Earth and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think back on the crazy
conversations we had or all the laughs we shared over the years. After Dillon passed away, I realized that death does not wait on anyone so you
should get your life right with God while you still can. On November 1, 2013, the day of Friday night football, Ouachita Parish High School and West
Monroe High School went head to head in the biggest rivalry football game of the season. Everyone is super excited about the game; we could barely
focus on our school work. Finally, game time approached slowly but surely, and the pressure has increased extremely. The long
–awaited matchup was
about to play out before the student body's eyes. Sitting in the stands watching the game with eager, the crowd felt the tension between the rivals. The

The Current Recycling Program In Vermilion Parish, Louisiana
The current recycling program in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana is insufficient to meet the needs of the community. Many urban populations are taking
advantage of technological innovations to maximize the effectiveness of recycling programs. One issue in Vermilion Parish is that there is an
insufficient number of locations in which recyclables can be dropped off. Thus, even though the recycling industry in Vermilion Parish is
well–established, the availability and feasibility for recycling opportunities is quite low to much of the population. The result is that the recycling
program is relatively inefficient in Vermilion Parish. With an annual population growth of around 2% (Prakken & White, 2014), the need for increased

These two materials, in particular, are dangerous to local ecologies and populations. Thus, there is not only an identified need to reduce the use of
these two materials, but also a need to increase recycling of these two materials.
One of the environmental groups in the area, No Waste Louisiana, partners with local businesses and organizations to coordinate actions to minimize
the environmental impacts in the region. No Waste Louisiana representative Catherine Schoeffler Comeaux writes, "Cleaning up the mostly plastic
litter on our Gulf Coast and in our bayous will not be accomplished by a few do–gooders picking up trash. Recycling will not take care of the excessive
and egregious amount of single use disposable plastics produced worldwide every day. No matter how much you pick up, no matter how many litter
bugs you reform, no matter what you recycle – unless we reduce our waste on the front end as individuals while demanding changes in industry, we
will continue to see our landscape, our food chain, our very genetic code contaminated." Here, the representative identifies the high amounts of waste
found in the area. While the representative recognizes that recycling, on its own, will not solve the problem, recycling is part of the solution.

Our Lady Of La Vang Parish
Save A Life I am nearing my 15–year mark of involvement and 2–year mark of service in a group called the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement
(VEYM) at Our Lady of La Vang Parish. Growing up in this youth group, I was taught to touch as many people's hearts as possible in hopes of
bettering society. Being brought up in such a gratifying environment, it was a no brainer that I would, one day, become the counselor that I am today
to reciprocate the same love and leadership to the kids that need the right guidance as I did. Every Sunday, we would gather to teach the lesson plans
we planned for the kids ranging from ages 7–18 in hopes of guiding the children in the right direction in life. Providing a place of sanctity – a safe
haven for the children is a wonderful way to keep the kids from leading astray into the many different temptations of this world. In trying to maintain
and instill good values and morals for the children, we provide them with opportunities to help them grow, learn, and give a helping hand to others
who are less fortunate than them. One of the many wonderful opportunities we were blessed to be a part of was to help an organization that goes by
the name of One Body Village (OBV). They are an organization that was created to combat child sex exploitation and trafficking, especially in
Southeast Asian countries (Mission). In my youth group, we ordered the T–shirts that the non–profit organization designs and sells to fund for their
annual mission trips and

Does the American Dream belong to every one or does it exclude some individuals? The American Dream is a very powerful force that molds
America. It has existed for many generations but has it changed over time? The foundation of the Dream tends to stay the same that is the pursuit of
happiness, hope, freedom, justice and equality. The concepts within the American Dream shouldalter to fit the changes of society. The breakthroughs

African Americans have to strive extremely hard to be successful and obtain a place in America. When reading Baldwin's statement it seems much like
Martin Luther King Jr. statement: "One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile
in his own land"(3). African Americans are trying to obtain their place in American society but are restricted to the area that the white Americans set
aside for them. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and James Baldwin are striving to make a difference to better America by publicly sharing their emotions.
Indeed Baldwin's letter expressed public awareness but it also consisted of personal elements that only his nephew was intended to understand. "You
can only be destroyed by believing that you really are what the white world calls a nigger" (Baldwin 243). This statement illustrates the pain that
Baldwin feels deep inside. When a person calls someone a nigger it lowers their self–worth and causes them thoughts of despair. The white society can
be hurtful to African Americans by underestimating what they say. When someone is constantly being called a nigger they start to believe that they
really are what they have always been called. When a person believes they are a nigger they lower their goals and ostracism thinking that they are not
accepted and they will never be. Situations like this are hard to grasp unless one lives them like Baldwin did. The fact that

Reflection Of Attend Sacred Heart Parish
For my final assignment, I chose to attend Sacred Heart Parish, which is a Catholic Church located in Bridgeport, PA. I made the decision to attend
Sacred Heart at the recommendation of a close family member, who is an active member of said church. Prior to attending this religious service, it had
been approximately 8 years since the last time I had visited a religious institution. The first thing that I noticed upon my arrival was the appearance of
the structure. Sacred Heart Parish exhibited many characteristics of a very traditional European Gothic Cathedral, in fact, it quite strongly resembled a
medieval castle from the outside, which certainly allowed it to stand out among the rather modern brickwork structures that were far more... Show more

A short time after I had taken my seat, the choir began to chant softly as Father Sullivan, the head Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, appeared at the
entrance of the church, alongside him were two young altar boys, adorned in white robes. Father Sullivan slowly made his way down the specular
marble path, which lead to the altar. Contained in his hands was a moderately large golden crucifix; The altar boys who were accompanying him
carried large candles as they made their way towards the altar. As the hymn came to its conclusion, and the choir completed their chant, Father Sullivan
advanced towards the podium that was adjacent to the altar. Standing at the podium, Father Sullivan enunciated the words "The Lord be with you," to
which the crowd responded "And with your spirit;" He then greeted us kindly, and welcomed us to the church. Soon after the introduction, Father
Sullivan took a seat at the altar; A woman dressed in a white robe, and a gold–rimmed tabard took his place at the podium, instructing us to listen
closely, for she will now confer upon us the word of the Lord. Upon the conclusion of the reading, she requested that we respond in song. A second

Brief History Of The Govan 0ld Parish Church
Govan was a small village from the year 565 AD. Its strategic position at the centre of an ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde led to the formation of an
early Royal Court where all powerful kings established their base having retreated inland following battles with Vikings. Govan became a burgh in
1894 with its own Coat of Arms. The motto in Latin is NIHIL SINE LABORE which translates into "Nothing without hard work" and is very fitting to
the heraldic shield. The Govan 0ld Parish Church was founded by Saint Constantine. The Church sits on the site of one of the earliest Christian centres
in Scotland. The Govan Stones: These carved and textured stones, thirty one in total, are displayed within the setting of Govan 0ld Parish Church. The...

Who Is Kate Chopin?
Since the dawn of time women have been oppressed by a society that forces them to feel and think a certain way. Despite society's rules, women like
Kate Chopin have always found an outlet to express their thoughts and opinions to others. Chopin was one of the first feminist writers and was often
criticized for the content of her work. Although she was praised for her writing, many people disliked the content because she depicted her main
characters as women who wanted to become independent and chase their own desires; which was seen as unorthodox and unethical during her time
period (Ewell np). Kate Chopin used the experiences from her upbringing and surroundings and the values of heritage to write her unconventional
stories that brought attention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although she was often denounced for it, she expressed her opinions and thoughts on marriage, women oppression, and women's desires through her

experiences, like living in New Orleans and south Louisiana, helped her create a detailed background for her novels. Although it took decades for
people to truly embrace the ideas and values Chopin wrote in her novels, she will be known as one the most influential female writers of American

Diary Of A Parish Clerk By Steen Steensen Blicher
This paper will analyze the short story "Diary of a Parish Clerk" written in 1824 by Steen Steensen Blicher. This short story was written during the
"golden age" of Romanticism. After a short summary of the story and analyzing the story's composition and narration, I will analyze the unreliable
narrator within the story (Monrad, 10–19–16, sl. 8). I will then compare certain aspects of the story that relate to Romanticism. Lastly, I will discuss
aspects of the story that relate to Blicher's perspective on society and what he intended to say using the unreliable narrator. The short story "Diary of a
Parish Clerk" begins with an introduction of a pastor, the pastor's son, and a peasant boy. The peasant boy's father dies shortly and the... Show more

The precipitating incident is triggered when his master's wife, Miss Marie, dies. Jens is too afraid to look out his room at the Church's courtyard,
so he switches rooms with Morten. The room switch constitutes as the precipitating incident as the conflict quickly arises due to this event.
Morten, forgetting that he switched rooms with Jens, takes a nap in his old room. Unknown to Miss Sophie, she enters the room and kisses the
person in bed. Moments later, she discovers that the person she kissed is Morten and quickly leaves. This incident constitutes as the conflict
because of the change in Morten's perception of Miss Sophie. Miss Sophie is no longer the women he imagined her to be and he is outraged.
Shortly after this incident, a maid exposes them and Jens flees. Meanwhile, Miss Sophie is locked in her room. The climax happens when Jens
comes back and runs off with Miss Sophie. The resolution is reached when Morten meets Jens and Miss Sophie after many years. The relation
between the resolution and the precipitating incident is that the given order incorporates the event. After Morten goes back to Thiele, his view of
life has changed drastically due to all the events that have happened. He no longer wants to live and waits for death. With regards to Jens and Miss

In 1115, Glasgow was given a bishop, indicating the importance of the expanding settlement. While in July 1136 St Kentigern's wooden church next to
Molendinar Burn was replaced by a cathedral and was dedicated in the presence of King David 1. Which emphasises the importance of the Christian
faith and of the church during this time. There was also a single street formed which created a rough path from the cathedral to the River Clyde. The
bishop, clergy and their servants all formed an ecclesiastical precinct within the surrounding area of the cathedral. While the surrounding settlements

in Glasgow is significant. Today, Glasgow is a multi–cultural city of individuals from many religions. Therefore, it could be argued that the
establishment of a new religious community under 800 years helped to lay the foundations for the modern multi–cultural city. In the 15th century,
Glasgow University was founded by Bishop Turnbull and established by Pope Nicholas V in 1451, it was situated next to the Blackfriars Church
on High Street. This university would develop into having a significant influence on creating the foundations for the modern city. As this would
have had a beneficial impact on the local economy, while also establishing Glasgow as a new and modern city of its time. The Papal Bull, issued by
Nicholas V described Glasgow as 'the air is mild, victuals are plentiful, and great store of other things pertaining to the use of man is found'. It also
states that Glasgow is 'well fitted for multiplying the seeds of learning' which represents that Glasgow is based in an area suitable for growth and
expansion. Therefore, benefiting its inhabitants, while bringing profit to the city. Significantly, the impact of the university is visible when researching
the population of Glasgow, as around the year 1300 the population is estimated to be around 1500. However, by 1490 the population had almost
doubled in size to 2,900. The university itself would have remained quite small in size for many years after its establishment. Nonetheless, it led to
Glasgow's name being put on the European map and assisted in the growth of the population. Which represents the growing importance of Glasgow
during this time. Other

Bruton Parish Church Essay
Bruton Parish church is ultimately the most deserving building in colonial Williamsburg for a commemorative coin. The church was an important
social meeting place during colonial times, and it is still an active church. It also gives us a good idea of colonial life, because the church is still
the original church that was used in the 1700's.The church should be given the coin because it is one of the most important buildings in colonial
Williamsburg. Back during colonial times, the church was an important social meeting place, as well as the state church. Farmers who live out on
the far corners of Williamsburg only saw were their wife and children. And if they weren't married, they did not see anyone. But for 2 hours during
church, you could connect with everyone. The church was also a good way for news to spread. Unlike the Governor's Palace, which was only for the
gentry class, the capitol, which was only for royalty, and the magazine, that was only for physically fit, middle– aged non– disabled men, the church
was for everyone, and everyone was required by law to come, or pay a large fine. So ultimately, the church was the center of social life, and the only

Studying Psychology At River Parish Community College
Sometimes the smallest choices have life altering effects. For instance, deciding to pursue a career in education just like Professor Kleinpeter. Since
the doors opened 17 years ago, Kleinpeter has taught Psychology at River Parish Community College. Before River Parish Community College, she
taught at the University of New Orleans. Then, in the beginning of her career she taught Special Education for 15 years. It is obvious that Kleinpeter
has plenty of experience under her belt, but all of these successes started with a choice. The future that children often dream for themselves is not
the reality they live out later in life. Professor Kleinpeter saw herself becoming a Veterinarian. When the time came for her to choose a career, she
turned away from the field. The amount of time it took to obtain the degree changed her mind. Instead, she looked to a career in education. She
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education along with a certification for Adaptive P.E. Kleinpeter taught Adaptive P.E. for 15 years all over
Louisiana and in Houston, Texas. Then she decided, like her husband, she would become a doctor. The prerequisites required to be a medical
doctor though was too much for her. So, by the advice of a friend, she decided to pursue a career as a psychologist instead. Psychology is not for the
faint of heart. Professor Kleinpeter had accredited the five years it took to earn a Masters of Science degree in psychology as the hardest school years of

Needs Assessment Of Establishing Parish Nursing
Project Premise: Needs Assessment about Establishing Parish Nursing
Problem Statement
The American Nurses Association and Health Ministries Association (ANA & HMA) has described Faith Community Nursing (FCN) as a form of a
specialized nursing practice carried out by a nurse within a faith community (ANA & HMA, 2012). The role played by the FCN is to protect, promote,
and optimize health and abilities, prevent illness and injury, and respond to distress regarding the practice beliefs and the values of a faith community.
The FCN focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as well as the promotion of holistic health and prevention and the reduction of illness (ANA &
HMA, 2012). Furthermore, the FCN plays a significant role in developing community partnerships required to enhance health promotion (Breisch,
Hurley & Moore, 2013). The ANA & HMA (2012) noted that an FCN offers services to faith community members and people in the neighborhood. The
services provided range from case management, health education, patient advocacy, personal health counseling, coordination of volunteers, to acting as
a liaison and referral agent between the people and health care sector. Therefore, an FCN acts as an advocate for patients and can teach the community
on particular disease in order to improve their understanding and promote disease management.

The Awakening By Katherine O ' Flaherty
"Katherine O'Flaherty was born in St. Lois, Missouri, to a Creole–Irish family that enjoyed a high place in society. Her father died when she was four,
and Kate was raised by her mother, grandmother, and great–grandmother. Very well read at young age, she received her formal education at the St.
Louis Academy of the Sacred Heart. In 1870, she married Oscar Chopin, a Louisiana businessman, and lived with him in Natchitoches parish and New
Orleans, where she became a close observer of Creole and Cajun life. Following her husband's sudden death in 1884 she returned to St. Louis,
where she raised her six children and began her literary career. In slightly more than a decade she produced a substantial body work, including the

A Short Story : A Story?
Anaru woke up covered in sweat, the ground was cold and hard. He had just had a terrible nightmare. He had had the same nightmare three nights
in a row. Every time the same thing happened, he was swimming in the river, the water was always jet black and every time a group of eels would
bite into his leg. Using the rows of hooked teeth in their mouth to hold his legs tight. Then they would start to pull him under water, every time he
would fight with all his energy, but every time the eels would pull him under, and just as he thought he was going to die he would wake up. He
knew that these reoccurring nightmares had to mean something so he went to the village elder and explained what was going on, "every time I go
to sleep I have the same nightmare, the eels they attack and kill me, what does it mean," The elder responded in a low gravelly voice, "young one
these nightmares trouble me, the meaning of them is still not clear, you must go back to your dreams explore within your mind," Anaru replied, "but
how am I supposed to do that?" The elder laughed a little and whispered, "that is something you must discover yourself" Anaru left the hut more
confused than before. How was he supposed to explore a dream? Anaru was almost annoyed by the elder's mysterious answer, but he knew that
everything the elders said and did had a purpose. That night before he went to sleep Anaru prayed to Tangaroa, the Maori god of water for protection

Discussion On The Importance Of Taking Risks By Sarah Parish
Sarah Parish said "Living with fear stops us taking risks, and if you don't go out on the branch, you're never going to get the best fruit." Taking
risks is sometimes important because you only do good work when you're taking risks and pushing yourself to your goal. Imagine a society
without taking risks what world will we become if we don't take risks. Taking risks shows confidence, and helps you stand out. For example, rosa
parks took the risk of not giving up her seat to a white man she stood up for what she believed in even though she went to jail for that she took a
risk that changed her life. We learn from risks and those lessons may lead us on an important path in our life. We take risks for a reason and by
making choices is a risk taking

The Bruton Parish History
In the year 1758, the British Parish received mysterious gifts, including a chalice, paten, and an alms basin. The Bruton Parish is an Anglican church
and is located in Williamsburg. The Bruton Parish was important in colonial times. Also, it has value to the citizen today. The motto "That the future
may learn from the past" relates to the Bruton Parish. For Bruton Parish's three major reasons, it must presented with a 2016 commemorative coin.
To begin, Thomas Jefferson wrote a document about decisions of faith. The document is known as the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. Around
the 1700s, the England government would pay the Bruton Parish for a specific religion. Also, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Patrick Henry,
George Mason and more significant citizens went to the Bruton Parish church. When residents of Williamsburg didn't come to the... Show more content

Bruton Parish is now part of the longest living museum. It is the first and only church in Colonial Williamsburg and was where citizens worshipped.
Some people still use the church and donate money to the Bruton Parish. Today humanity studies the past beliefs and culture by artifacts, but being in
the Bruton Parish is seeing the history live. Like the motto "That the future may learn from the past," this generation has and the upcoming one will.
Finally, there is the motto and it relates to the Bruton Parish because of religion and government. "That the future may learn from the past." America
shouldn't blame crimes on an entire religion because of terrorists. America is a free country, it was written in the Virginia Statute for Religious
Freedom, the Virginia Declaration of Rights, and the Constitution. Some citizens won't let any Muslims in because some believe that all Muslims are a
threat to this country. This is not right. Belief is justice to people and it's risky and harmful the same

The Complex Issues Surrounding The Agriculture Street...
Public Housing
The complex issues surrounding the Agriculture Street Landfill are part of a much larger story about environmental justice and public housing that,
while an entrenched part of the city's history, came to the forefront post–Katrina. According to the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies
Health Policy Institute in Washington, D.C., "a powerfully discriminatory tendency in planning is for environmentally vulnerable low–income
neighborhoods to be deemed disposable, whereas equally vulnerable high–income neighborhoods are deemed indispensable because they are more
valuable (Morse 2008)." Nowhere has this been more evident than in these poor, black New Orleans neighborhoods, historically dominated by public
housing.
New Orleans politicians, city officials, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) repeatedly stressed housing as their number one
priority following Hurricane Katrina, which by some estimates damaged 434,000 homes in the New Orleans area and destroyed nearly 140,000 of
them (Aldrich and Cook 2008). Yet, shortly after Katrina made landfall, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
spoke of not rebuilding all of the public housing lost during the storm. During recovery, the city closed down and fenced off many of the public
housing developments, to the delight of some government officials. "We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God
did," Rep. Richard H. Baker, a

St. Edmond Parish Case Summary
St. Edmond's Catholic Church
A diocese is a district under the pastoral care of a bishop in the Christian Church. St. Edmond Church is located within The Diocese of Lafayette.
The Diocese of Lafayette is made up of 121 church parishes. It was established in 1918 when it was separated from the Archdiocese of New Orleans
and created as its own. St. Edmond Catholic Church has been a diocesan parish since 1974.
In 1974 Bishop Gerald L. Frey served as the Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette. As the Lafayette and surrounding areas grew, so did the need for a
new church parish. The first priests assigned to this newly developed parish were Father Thomas C. Dowling and Father Patrick Mallinson. There
was no formal house of worship constructed, so masses were held in the Villa Maria Apartment Complex. Masses were offered at five different times
on the weekend. As more Catholics began attending, the need for a new place to offer the Eucharist grew larger weekly. It was in 1974 that the
Lafayette School Board allowed the two priests to use the cafeteria at the Prairie Elementary School as a temporary church until the diocese could find
or construct a building. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Core Functions Of The Public Health System
Windshield Assessment One of three core functions of the public health system is community assessment. The goals of community assessment are to
collect primary data to understand about Harahan community and provide foundation for improving and promoting the health of the community.
After we gained primary data in the first two weeks, secondary data collected during the third week, and we combined both data to identify the
needs and assets of Harahan community. Then we formulate possibility nursing diagnosis and intervention for the community based on our
community assessment. To get an overview of Harahan community. We separated in two cars in the first week. One group drove around the
Hickory avenue and interviewed local informants from the library, the donut coffee shop, and Mayor of Harahan city. While the other group
interviewed a citizen from park, a waitress from restaurant and firefighter from fire department. Harahan library provides collection of books,
magazines video and free wifi access. The library also has stories and creative activities for children from three to seven. Its parking lot is a little
small with seven spots in the front. Tastee donut shop where locals like to hang out is next to the library. The waitress told us that the shop was busy
in the morning with more locals, but by noon the business was slow and the place was empty during game time. The second week, we came back

The History And The Health Of The Local Parish System : An...
Fresh Expressions underplay the health, missional readiness, and inclusive nature of the local parish system. 'Whose heart does not lift when, amid
the hubristic skyscrapers of the City of London, one spots a church spire or tower, dwarfed yet not erased by the temples to Mammon?' (Davison and
Milbank, 2010:144) As the specifics of Davison's and Milbank's critique draw to an end, it is to their alternative, a restored parish system, that they
turn. They defend the local church, rather than fresh expressions as embodying 'a truer understanding of mission and anthropology' which is better
placed to respond to the needs of our contemporary humanity' (2010:146). Therefore, 'fresh expressions... are, in significant measure, a harmful... Show

Further, the examples actually used by Davison and Milbank for healthy churches today are not parish churches, but are instead Cathedrals or
University Chapels. The conclusion, therefore, of the emergence of an idyllic parish church is suspicious. The importance of locality History aside,
Davison and Milbank affirm the need for a centralised, uncompromising and clearly definable church building as a cultural expression of locality
(2010:152, 156). The Fresh Expression movement, however, 'is built upon the assumption that people are less localised' (153). Not only is this not
true, they say, for groups like the poor, but logically, networks contain people from localities who still need a local expression. 'If the church is to
truly be incarnational', they say, 'then she must be local' (154). FTP also maintains the need for a recognisably 'sacred space' within local communities.
Although they don't produce biblical references for this (for example Deut. 12:5; Josh. 18:1; Jn. 4:20–24), they do show examples of communities
throughout history where people have centred their communities around sacred spaces (157). This essayist agrees that there is still a desire in local
communities for sacred spaces, especially at key liturgical times in the calendar, during tragedy, or sacred occasions (weddings and baptisms). These are

Finding The Reference Desk Is No Easy Task For The...
In the academic library that I chose to examine, finding the reference desk is no easy task for the unfamiliar patron. With three major entrances and
six floors to navigate, this library is an epitome of what most libraries would strive to have: boundless space for patrons and a vast, growing collection.
The patron, however, could easily take one glance at this gargantuan building and easily become overwhelmed, despite the services that this one
building contains, such as being combined with financial aid, the information technology (IT) center, and areas to grab coffee and snacks. It is my hope
that upon observing and engaging with the reference department that they will prove themselves to be helpful and accessible to patrons known and...

Eventually, I was able to find a seat to left of the reference desk. This allowed me to see the patrons as they walked up to the desk and the activities
that occurred in the staff work area. Behind the desk, there are enough computer stations that four staff members can work comfortably at a time.
Through the duration of the forty minutes I spent observing the reference desk, there are three people present: one who was absorbed in his
computer; one who was obviously bored and playing with his cell phone; and an older gentleman who was roving around the confines of the desk.
Between visits from patrons, the staff members conversed freely, even standing up and stretching their legs on occasion. Towards the second half of
the observation, one of the staff members retreated into the back room behind the reference desk. In the time dedicated to observing these
interactions, six patrons came to the desk, with only two of them having reference related questions. The first patron to approach the desk arrived at
2:40. Clad in a runner's outfit, she did not look older than nineteen. She must not have realized this was the desk that she needed because as she
almost walked by it completely, she did a double take. The gentlemen at the desk did not even glance at her until she was standing in front of the desk.

St. Joseph's Motivation
Motivation
Motivation for parish staff to continue work at St. Joseph's resides in their desire to foster the mission of the Church–both on the broad level and on the
more specific level of St. Joseph's. We felt the fulfillment of the parish staff strongly. While working at the parish is indeed a job, we experienced a
mentality that staff members felt privileged to work at St. Joseph's. One of the accountants, Cathy Bohnen, stated she looks forward to coming in to St.
Joseph's. We believe this supports the notion that the environment at St. Joseph's is one which encourages and supports its staff members simply by
creating an environment conducive to the work expected of staff.
The parish nurtures this innate motivation to work for the Church in several ways; first, there is daily morning prayer for the staff. Whoever is around
and desires to participate gathers at the front desk where a short prayer reflection occurs. In addition, Fr. Creagan encourages daily Mass; these practices
spiritually nourish the staff members. It would seem natural for this community to exist within a parish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Similarities Between Bonnie And Clyde
Are you familiar with Bonnie and Clyde? If not, they were a couple, who were also criminals. Through The Great Depression, they went around the
United States committing crimes. They ran against the law for just about four years, they were just about invincible. I will be talking about how they
met, their early life, and their journey together. They had a very interesting journey. It is so interesting how opposite they were, yet still so much alike.
Bonnie Parker was born on October 1, 1910. When she was just four years old her father died, and her mother took her family to a poor suburb of
Dallas. From several people, Bonnie was beautiful, was 4'11, and was approximately 90 pounds. She was a bright student and earned honors in her

decision to make, would she stay with Clyde and live a life running from the law, or would she leave him and start fresh? She had known that since
Clyde vowed never to go back to prison, if she stayed with him they both would die soon. She stayed with him. To help avoid being captured, Clyde
would be in a different car frequently. " In the months that followed, Clyde and a changing gang committed a series of robberies at various small
businesses and banks. Clyde killed a police officer and store owner during his group's crime spree, and thus became a highly wanted man with a price

All Of The Three Evils
Thus far, this section is the most enlightening when contemplating my day–to–day experiences in the Church. As Pope Francis calls us to missionary
spirituality, I can embrace the invitation and pragmatically layout how I would approach it on a daily basis. I am anxious of impediments in living out
this spirituality. After reading this section, I am at ease and peace knowing that we are not alone in this struggle. Pope Francis addresses the issues
head–on without wavering from an enthusiasm that can only come from the true Joy of the Gospel. In saying yes to the missionary spirituality we
renew our faith rooted in our baptism and confirmation. Pope Francis sheds light on the three evils which derail our "Yes" to this missionary
spirituality. #78 "As a result, one can observe in many agents of evangelization, even though they pray, a heightened individualism, a crisis of
identity and a cooling of fervor. These are three evils which fuel one another." In all of the three evils the self is the center instead of God. We live in
an "I" society and this mentality has definitely trickled into the Church. The "your way right away" individualized consumerism is how people have
been conditioned and they expect this in all areas of life. Sadly, this is true for those who serve the church as staff, lay minsters and volunteers. I
observed and dealt with situations in where you have two individuals speaking at each other instead of to each other. At times of registration at

Graduation Speech At St Francis Parish
For as long as I can remember, my parents, brother, and I woke up extremely early every Sunday morning to attend the 8am mass at Saint Francis
Parish. During my formative years, I was diligent about going to church, but it was not just my parents 'forcing' me to regularly attend. I enjoyed going
and looked forward to the experience each week. Until I made my confirmation during my sophomore year in high school, my brother and I were
active in the youth ministry, attending weekly meetings for the teens who attended our church. However, things started to change from that point
on, especially once I reached college. My first two years living on campus, I made friends with many people who are also practicing Catholics.
Each week we would gather for the evening mass offered on campus. I was extremely proud of myself; I was not sure that I would have the diligence
to attend mass without my parents' gentle prodding. This continued until my junior year, when I decided to move off campus. Not having a place of
worship two minutes from wherever I was making it all that more difficult to make the weekly trip to mass. Now, I only regularly attend mass
whenever I go home for winter and summer break. Unfortunately I am still extremely conflicted in regards to my lessening enthusiasm in the Catholic
Church. Over the past few months, I have been drifting further away from organized religion and more into my own spirituality. While I still agree with
many of the ideals taught by the

is that the highway in Bourg–Larose that passes under the lift Span Bridge will be closed because constructors must repaint the main span and bridge

St. Louis And New Orleans
Kate Chopin was born Katherine O'Flaherty on February 8, 1851, in St. Louis, Missouri, into a socially prominent family with roots in the French
past of both St. Louis and New Orleans. Her father, Thomas O'Flaherty, an immigrant from Ireland, had lived in New York and Illinois before settling
in St. Louis, where he prospered as the owner of a commission house. In 1839, he married into a well–known Creole family, members of the city's
social elite, but his wife died in childbirth only a year later. In 1844, he married Eliza Faris, merely fifteen years old but, according to French custom,
eligible for marriage. Faris was the daughter of a Huguenot man who had migrated from Virginia and a woman who was descended from the
Charlevilles, among the earliest French settlers in America.
Kate was one of three children born to her parents and the only one to live to mature years. In 1855, tragedy struck the O'Flaherty family when her
father, now a director of the Pacific Railroad, was killed in a train wreck; thereafter, Kate lived in a house of many widows – her mother, grandmother,
and great–grandmother Charleville. In 1860, she entered the St. Louis Academy of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic institution where French history,
language, and culture were stressed – as they were, also, in her own household. Such an early absorption in French culture would eventually influence
Chopin's own writing, an adaptation in some ways of French forms to American themes.

The Importance Of Uniforms In Caddo Parish Schools

  • 1. The Importance Of Uniforms In Caddo Parish Schools INTRODUCTION All 71 schools within the Caddo Parish School District should be required to abide by the uniform policy that has been set by the Caddo Parish School Board for the upcoming 2016–2017 school year. Currently, 87% of the schools require their students to wear uniforms. The acceptance of this universal dress code proposal would bring equality and a sense of belonging throughout the district while increasing security measures at the nine schools who currently do not follow this policy. POSITION Presently, there are 42,000 students enrolled in Caddo Parish schools, which is a 25 percent increase from the 41,894 students enrolled during the 2010–2011 academic year (CABL.Org, 2013). 6% of these students currently are not required ... • 4. Life Is A Tragic Loss Of A Classmate No matter how old or young we are, we have all had adversities to face. Whether good or bad, some are more difficult than others. Mine just so happens to be a tragic loss of a classmate. In 2013, Dillon Jamal Neal was just starting his junior year of high school. Proudly wearing number fifty–five on Friday nights, Dillon played defensive end for the Ouachita Parish Lions in what we call, The Lion's Den. He had such a lighthearted spirit that you cherish knowing someone like him forever. He was an angel who walked amongst the Earth, that God called home to honor Dillon with a pair of wings he earned. It has been four years since he left the Earth and there is not a day that goes by that I do not think back on the crazy conversations we had or all the laughs we shared over the years. After Dillon passed away, I realized that death does not wait on anyone so you should get your life right with God while you still can. On November 1, 2013, the day of Friday night football, Ouachita Parish High School and West Monroe High School went head to head in the biggest rivalry football game of the season. Everyone is super excited about the game; we could barely focus on our school work. Finally, game time approached slowly but surely, and the pressure has increased extremely. The long –awaited matchup was about to play out before the student body's eyes. Sitting in the stands watching the game with eager, the crowd felt the tension between the rivals. The football players played ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Current Recycling Program In Vermilion Parish, Louisiana The current recycling program in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana is insufficient to meet the needs of the community. Many urban populations are taking advantage of technological innovations to maximize the effectiveness of recycling programs. One issue in Vermilion Parish is that there is an insufficient number of locations in which recyclables can be dropped off. Thus, even though the recycling industry in Vermilion Parish is well–established, the availability and feasibility for recycling opportunities is quite low to much of the population. The result is that the recycling program is relatively inefficient in Vermilion Parish. With an annual population growth of around 2% (Prakken & White, 2014), the need for increased recycling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two materials, in particular, are dangerous to local ecologies and populations. Thus, there is not only an identified need to reduce the use of these two materials, but also a need to increase recycling of these two materials. One of the environmental groups in the area, No Waste Louisiana, partners with local businesses and organizations to coordinate actions to minimize the environmental impacts in the region. No Waste Louisiana representative Catherine Schoeffler Comeaux writes, "Cleaning up the mostly plastic litter on our Gulf Coast and in our bayous will not be accomplished by a few do–gooders picking up trash. Recycling will not take care of the excessive and egregious amount of single use disposable plastics produced worldwide every day. No matter how much you pick up, no matter how many litter bugs you reform, no matter what you recycle – unless we reduce our waste on the front end as individuals while demanding changes in industry, we will continue to see our landscape, our food chain, our very genetic code contaminated." Here, the representative identifies the high amounts of waste found in the area. While the representative recognizes that recycling, on its own, will not solve the problem, recycling is part of the solution. • 6. Our Lady Of La Vang Parish Save A Life I am nearing my 15–year mark of involvement and 2–year mark of service in a group called the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM) at Our Lady of La Vang Parish. Growing up in this youth group, I was taught to touch as many people's hearts as possible in hopes of bettering society. Being brought up in such a gratifying environment, it was a no brainer that I would, one day, become the counselor that I am today to reciprocate the same love and leadership to the kids that need the right guidance as I did. Every Sunday, we would gather to teach the lesson plans we planned for the kids ranging from ages 7–18 in hopes of guiding the children in the right direction in life. Providing a place of sanctity – a safe haven for the children is a wonderful way to keep the kids from leading astray into the many different temptations of this world. In trying to maintain and instill good values and morals for the children, we provide them with opportunities to help them grow, learn, and give a helping hand to others who are less fortunate than them. One of the many wonderful opportunities we were blessed to be a part of was to help an organization that goes by the name of One Body Village (OBV). They are an organization that was created to combat child sex exploitation and trafficking, especially in Southeast Asian countries (Mission). In my youth group, we ordered the T–shirts that the non–profit organization designs and sells to fund for their annual mission trips and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Analysis of James Baldwin's 'My Dungeon Shook: A Letter to... Baldwin's My Dungeon Shook: A Letter to my Nephew Does the American Dream belong to every one or does it exclude some individuals? The American Dream is a very powerful force that molds America. It has existed for many generations but has it changed over time? The foundation of the Dream tends to stay the same that is the pursuit of happiness, hope, freedom, justice and equality. The concepts within the American Dream shouldalter to fit the changes of society. The breakthroughs and obstacles that America overcomes should shift the American Dream. Society may see the American Dream as a dangerous power causing them to be scared to challenge the concepts of the traditional American Dream. Will society become dysfunctional if someone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... African Americans have to strive extremely hard to be successful and obtain a place in America. When reading Baldwin's statement it seems much like Martin Luther King Jr. statement: "One hundred years later, the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land"(3). African Americans are trying to obtain their place in American society but are restricted to the area that the white Americans set aside for them. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and James Baldwin are striving to make a difference to better America by publicly sharing their emotions. Indeed Baldwin's letter expressed public awareness but it also consisted of personal elements that only his nephew was intended to understand. "You can only be destroyed by believing that you really are what the white world calls a nigger" (Baldwin 243). This statement illustrates the pain that Baldwin feels deep inside. When a person calls someone a nigger it lowers their self–worth and causes them thoughts of despair. The white society can be hurtful to African Americans by underestimating what they say. When someone is constantly being called a nigger they start to believe that they really are what they have always been called. When a person believes they are a nigger they lower their goals and ostracism thinking that they are not accepted and they will never be. Situations like this are hard to grasp unless one lives them like Baldwin did. The fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Reflection Of Attend Sacred Heart Parish For my final assignment, I chose to attend Sacred Heart Parish, which is a Catholic Church located in Bridgeport, PA. I made the decision to attend Sacred Heart at the recommendation of a close family member, who is an active member of said church. Prior to attending this religious service, it had been approximately 8 years since the last time I had visited a religious institution. The first thing that I noticed upon my arrival was the appearance of the structure. Sacred Heart Parish exhibited many characteristics of a very traditional European Gothic Cathedral, in fact, it quite strongly resembled a medieval castle from the outside, which certainly allowed it to stand out among the rather modern brickwork structures that were far more... A short time after I had taken my seat, the choir began to chant softly as Father Sullivan, the head Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, appeared at the entrance of the church, alongside him were two young altar boys, adorned in white robes. Father Sullivan slowly made his way down the specular marble path, which lead to the altar. Contained in his hands was a moderately large golden crucifix; The altar boys who were accompanying him carried large candles as they made their way towards the altar. As the hymn came to its conclusion, and the choir completed their chant, Father Sullivan advanced towards the podium that was adjacent to the altar. Standing at the podium, Father Sullivan enunciated the words "The Lord be with you," to which the crowd responded "And with your spirit;" He then greeted us kindly, and welcomed us to the church. Soon after the introduction, Father Sullivan took a seat at the altar; A woman dressed in a white robe, and a gold–rimmed tabard took his place at the podium, instructing us to listen closely, for she will now confer upon us the word of the Lord. Upon the conclusion of the reading, she requested that we respond in song. A second reader, whom was adorned in more modern formal attire, then approached the podium, this time relaying a ... Its strategic position at the centre of an ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde led to the formation of an early Royal Court where all powerful kings established their base having retreated inland following battles with Vikings. Govan became a burgh in 1894 with its own Coat of Arms. The motto in Latin is NIHIL SINE LABORE which translates into "Nothing without hard work" and is very fitting to the heraldic shield. • 10. Who Is Kate Chopin? Since the dawn of time women have been oppressed by a society that forces them to feel and think a certain way. Despite society's rules, women like Kate Chopin have always found an outlet to express their thoughts and opinions to others. Chopin was one of the first feminist writers and was often criticized for the content of her work. Although she was praised for her writing, many people disliked the content because she depicted her main characters as women who wanted to become independent and chase their own desires; which was seen as unorthodox and unethical during her time period (Ewell np). • 11. Diary Of A Parish Clerk By Steen Steensen Blicher This paper will analyze the short story "Diary of a Parish Clerk" written in 1824 by Steen Steensen Blicher. This short story was written during the "golden age" of Romanticism. After a short summary of the story and analyzing the story's composition and narration, I will analyze the unreliable narrator within the story (Monrad, 10–19–16, sl. 8). I will then compare certain aspects of the story that relate to Romanticism. Lastly, I will discuss aspects of the story that relate to Blicher's perspective on society and what he intended to say using the unreliable narrator. The short story "Diary of a Parish Clerk" begins with an introduction of a pastor, the pastor's son, and a peasant boy. The peasant boy's father dies shortly and the... Jens is too afraid to look out his room at the Church's courtyard, so he switches rooms with Morten. The room switch constitutes as the precipitating incident as the conflict quickly arises due to this event. Morten, forgetting that he switched rooms with Jens, takes a nap in his old room. Unknown to Miss Sophie, she enters the room and kisses the person in bed. Moments later, she discovers that the person she kissed is Morten and quickly leaves. This incident constitutes as the conflict because of the change in Morten's perception of Miss Sophie. Miss Sophie is no longer the women he imagined her to be and he is outraged. Shortly after this incident, a maid exposes them and Jens flees. Meanwhile, Miss Sophie is locked in her room. The climax happens when Jens comes back and runs off with Miss Sophie. The resolution is reached when Morten meets Jens and Miss Sophie after many years. The relation between the resolution and the precipitating incident is that the given order incorporates the event. After Morten goes back to Thiele, his view of life has changed drastically due to all the events that have happened. He no longer wants to live and waits for death. While in July 1136 St Kentigern's wooden church next to Molendinar Burn was replaced by a cathedral and was dedicated in the presence of King David 1. Today, Glasgow is a multi–cultural city of individuals from many religions. Therefore, it could be argued that the establishment of a new religious community under 800 years helped to lay the foundations for the modern multi–cultural city. In the 15th century, Glasgow University was founded by Bishop Turnbull and established by Pope Nicholas V in 1451, it was situated next to the Blackfriars Church on High Street. This university would develop into having a significant influence on creating the foundations for the modern city. As this would have had a beneficial impact on the local economy, while also establishing Glasgow as a new and modern city of its time. The Papal Bull, issued by Nicholas V described Glasgow as 'the air is mild, victuals are plentiful, and great store of other things pertaining to the use of man is found'. It also states that Glasgow is 'well fitted for multiplying the seeds of learning' which represents that Glasgow is based in an area suitable for growth and expansion. Therefore, benefiting its inhabitants, while bringing profit to the city. Significantly, the impact of the university is visible when researching the population of Glasgow, as around the year 1300 the population is estimated to be around 1500. However, by 1490 the population had almost doubled in size to 2,900. The university itself would have remained quite small in size for many years after its establishment. Nonetheless, it led to Glasgow's name being put on the European map and assisted in the growth of the population. Which represents the growing importance of Glasgow during this time. Other ... The church was an important social meeting place during colonial times, and it is still an active church. It also gives us a good idea of colonial life, because the church is still the original church that was used in the 1700's.The church should be given the coin because it is one of the most important buildings in colonial Williamsburg. Public Housing The complex issues surrounding the Agriculture Street Landfill are part of a much larger story about environmental justice and public housing that, while an entrenched part of the city's history, came to the forefront post–Katrina. According to the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies Health Policy Institute in Washington, D.C., "a powerfully discriminatory tendency in planning is for environmentally vulnerable low–income neighborhoods to be deemed disposable, whereas equally vulnerable high–income neighborhoods are deemed indispensable because they are more valuable (Morse 2008)." Nowhere has this been more evident than in these poor, black New Orleans neighborhoods, historically dominated by public housing. New Orleans politicians, city officials, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) repeatedly stressed housing as their number one priority following Hurricane Katrina, which by some estimates damaged 434,000 homes in the New Orleans area and destroyed nearly 140,000 of them (Aldrich and Cook 2008). Yet, shortly after Katrina made landfall, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development spoke of not rebuilding all of the public housing lost during the storm. During recovery, the city closed down and fenced off many of the public housing developments, to the delight of some government officials. "We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. The Fresh Expression movement, however, 'is built upon the assumption that people are less localised' (153). Not only is this not true, they say, for groups like the poor, but logically, networks contain people from localities who still need a local expression. 'If the church is to truly be incarnational', they say, 'then she must be local' (154). FTP also maintains the need for a recognisably 'sacred space' within local communities. St. Joseph's Motivation Motivation Motivation for parish staff to continue work at St. Joseph's resides in their desire to foster the mission of the Church–both on the broad level and on the more specific level of St. Joseph's. We felt the fulfillment of the parish staff strongly. While working at the parish is indeed a job, we experienced a mentality that staff members felt privileged to work at St. Joseph's. One of the accountants, Cathy Bohnen, stated she looks forward to coming in to St. Joseph's. We believe this supports the notion that the environment at St. Joseph's is one which encourages and supports its staff members simply by creating an environment conducive to the work expected of staff. The parish nurtures this innate motivation to work for the Church in several ways; first, there is daily morning prayer for the staff. • 32. All Of The Three Evils Thus far, this section is the most enlightening when contemplating my day–to–day experiences in the Church. As Pope Francis calls us to missionary spirituality, I can embrace the invitation and pragmatically layout how I would approach it on a daily basis. I am anxious of impediments in living out this spirituality. After reading this section, I am at ease and peace knowing that we are not alone in this struggle. Pope Francis addresses the issues head–on without wavering from an enthusiasm that can only come from the true Joy of the Gospel. In saying yes to the missionary spirituality we renew our faith rooted in our baptism and confirmation. Pope Francis sheds light on the three evils which derail our "Yes" to this missionary spirituality. #78 "As a result, one can observe in many agents of evangelization, even though they pray, a heightened individualism, a crisis of identity and a cooling of fervor. These are three evils which fuel one another." In all of the three evils the self is the center instead of God. We live in an "I" society and this mentality has definitely trickled into the Church. The "your way right away" individualized consumerism is how people have been conditioned and they expect this in all areas of life. Sadly, this is true for those who serve the church as staff, lay minsters and volunteers. I observed and dealt with situations in where you have two individuals speaking at each other instead of to each other. At times of registration at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Graduation Speech At St Francis Parish For as long as I can remember, my parents, brother, and I woke up extremely early every Sunday morning to attend the 8am mass at Saint Francis Parish. During my formative years, I was diligent about going to church, but it was not just my parents 'forcing' me to regularly attend. I enjoyed going and looked forward to the experience each week. Until I made my confirmation during my sophomore year in high school, my brother and I were active in the youth ministry, attending weekly meetings for the teens who attended our church. However, things started to change from that point on, especially once I reached college. My first two years living on campus, I made friends with many people who are also practicing Catholics. Each week we would gather for the evening mass offered on campus. I was extremely proud of myself; I was not sure that I would have the diligence to attend mass without my parents' gentle prodding. This continued until my junior year, when I decided to move off campus. Not having a place of worship two minutes from wherever I was making it all that more difficult to make the weekly trip to mass. Now, I only regularly attend mass whenever I go home for winter and summer break. Unfortunately I am still extremely conflicted in regards to my lessening enthusiasm in the Catholic Church. Over the past few months, I have been drifting further away from organized religion and more into my own spirituality. While I still agree with many of the ideals taught by the ... • 34. The Rev. Charles Richard The Rev. Charles Richard became the third pastor of the parish in 1895, coming to Sacred Heart from Gibson, Louisiana. He was a familiar figure riding on horseback on one of his three horses, "Fanny," "Dolly" and "Charley," as he traveled through the parish. The French–Canadian Richard offered all the services in French, although he did present some of the homilies in English beginning in 1906 . On March 23, 1896, the Francois Viguerie property was transferred to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. The property was one arpent (608.46) linear feet wide to the point of the survey which was interpreted to be the 40 arpent line. The recorded deed is in the Terrebonne Parish Conveyances book as Deed 455. A second piece of property was received from Albert R. Viguerie on December 17, 1897. • 35. Bourg-Lafourche Parish Gazette Analysis According to "Portion of Bourg–Larose highway," The Lafourche Parish Gazette explains how "the span of the Bourg–Larose Highway passing under the West Larose Vertical Lift Span Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic" ("Bourg –Larose highway"). What The Lafourche Parish Gazette is saying is that the highway in Bourg–Larose that passes under the lift Span Bridge will be closed because constructors must repaint the main span and bridge towers. Closing the highway will cause massive traffic jams. Instead of completely closing the highway, contractors could work between the hours of 9am until 3pm while adults are at work and children are at school. In order to speed up this process, both Lafourche and Terrebonne parish can come together to fix... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, the tug–of–war example would come back into play because if a portion of the highway closes then it will allow people to fight on who will get to pass the construction site first. It will also allow people to learn shortcuts to where they are going, which will heighten the chances of bumper to bumper traffic. In this case, getting both parishes to come together to work as a team would be the precise thing to do because it will shorten the construction work time in half so that everything can go back to ... • 37. Example Of Personal Narrative Report On September 30, 2007, my father, Rodney Woodington, Senior Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, presented my siblings and me with the Coin of the Military B.R.A.T. The coin is awarded to the children who spend their lives serving along their parents. The words inscribed on its crest: boldness, responsibility, adaptability, and tolerance, each of these traits that I have acquired on my journey from base to base, continue to be my guiding lights. Boldness: "...to bravely go where others dare not." I spent a majority of my childhood on Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii. PERSONAL MISSIONAL TRANSFORMATION In this section, I intend to provide a SWOT analysis of my personal missional transformation and illustrate how the understanding of Trinitarian ecclesiology and missiology led me as a missional agent to embrace new mental models. • 39. St. Louis And New Orleans Kate Chopin was born Katherine O'Flaherty on February 8, 1851, in St. Louis, Missouri, into a socially prominent family with roots in the French past of both St. Louis and New Orleans. Her father, Thomas O'Flaherty, an immigrant from Ireland, had lived in New York and Illinois before settling in St. Louis, where he prospered as the owner of a commission house. In 1839, he married into a well–known Creole family, members of the city's social elite, but his wife died in childbirth only a year later. In 1844, he married Eliza Faris, merely fifteen years old but, according to French custom, eligible for marriage. Faris was the daughter of a Huguenot man who had migrated from Virginia and a woman who was descended from the Charlevilles, among the earliest French settlers in America. Kate was one of three children born to her parents and the only one to live to mature years. In 1855, tragedy struck the O'Flaherty family when her father, now a director of the Pacific Railroad, was killed in a train wreck; thereafter, Kate lived in a house of many widows – her mother, grandmother, and great–grandmother Charleville. In 1860, she entered the St. Louis Academy of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic institution where French history, language, and culture were stressed – as they were, also, in her own household. Such an early absorption in French culture would eventually influence Chopin's own writing, an adaptation in some ways of French forms to American themes. Chopin graduated from the ...
