What role will a graphic designer do.
A graphic designer is a person who designs a visual message for
a product using words and images for a client. From an outside
perspective, it just looks like moving things around in Photoshop,
but a graphic designer’s job is so much more than that.
Using an in-depth understanding of advertising and composition,
a graphic designer can make a creative and interesting piece that
helps the product stand out.
Graphic design is something that’s taken over the world. Every
product, magazine or advert has a graphic designer working out
where the title should go, how prominent the background image
should be, what formatting the body text should be, and a lot
more design decisions that go into the creative process.
Where can this lead.
Many Graphic Designers will either move from a salaried position to
freelance, or vice versa. There are also various design companies
that offer Senior Graphic Designer roles, which many veterans of the
industry move into.

Research: Graphic design
Teams that create drawings, backgrounds, lettering, or other original graphics for
commercial purposes work in graphic design. A senior graphic designer is often
the leader of such teams, and he or she may have one or more junior graphic
designers and other support personnel working with him or her. The senior
graphic designer typically will be the member of the team who receives the
various jobs to be performed and works out the parameters, requirements, and
scope of the design. While the designer will normally perform much of this work,
he or she will also delegate graphic work to other junior graphic designers on the
team, typically suggesting edits to work and giving final approval before their
work is submitted.

To find my information I firstly went onto Google and found my information. I then would gather the specific and relevant
information needed and put it into a PowerPoint slide. I would then either save the information to my H drive or just to
the desktop. I then repeated this.

Client research:
Irn-Bru is a Scottish carbonated soft drink, often
described as "Scotland's other national drink"
(after whisky).
One way that Barr advertises its product is through advertisements. This specific
advert is linear and is also a narrative. These advertisements will be shown on the
internet as well as the tv , this will show millions of people their product. This will
also make some of the audience want to purchase the product. These adverts will
also be shown at there target audience so most likely they will show more adverts of
irn bru there. They will also probably show there adverts before 6 o'clock so that
they appeal to teenagers and kids , this is because they are a large amount of their
audience. Finally irn bru adverts will be shown when TV shows will have a large male
audience. Adverts will also be shown on YouTube and online , for example irn bru
may have there adverts between a male youtuber with a male audience.
In this specific irn bru advert I have watched they show how drinking irn bru can get you through life. This is shown by usually a man has a real life dilemma or
has a difference of opinion and irn bru helps solve the issue , usually by agreeing. In these adverts they also normally express humor , this is to make the
audience laugh. Humor will help sell this product due to people remembering that advert. In this specific advert they show an English bulldog which is a symbol
of England to be on top of this mans Scottish rug and irn bru and irn bru helps the Scottish man be civil. Overall I think that this advert does a good job of
advertising irn bru due to its tag line “irn bru gets you through” , this makes people want to buy it as firstly it sticks and you remember it and also people may
want it so that they can “get through”. The advert also does a good job due to showing the actual product as it shows Scottish people which is were the product
is most popular as well as at the end they show a kind of poster of the product.
Client research:
Barr have also chose to advertise irn bru in a poster format. This is because these
adverts are more appealing than a video advert. This is because these specific
adverts are bright and out there. These adverts also engage the audience due to
them being funny and usually using a play on words. This also may surprise the
audience due to them being out of the ordinary.
Barr may chose to do this because posters can be put just about anywhere and
seen by almost anyone. Posters can be strategically located to target a particular
market sector. For example, take-out restaurants might prefer to situate posters
near busy bus stops or train stations. Posters and other print advertising also is
low cost compared to a TV advert. Another reason they may do this is because
people at bus stops and other people who are alert of there surroundings will
notice and view these adverts. This Is why they are effective.
These adverts are also targeted at the male audience and specifically teenagers.
This is due to them including immature humor , this appeals to this audience
due to them being quite immature themselves and also them finding this funny.
The color orange also symbolizes the drink and also has connotations of fire
which is related to teenagers due to danger and mischievous. The color orange is
also used in Doritos which is also targeted at specifically teenagers.
Client research: This advert is very different form the current adverts. This is
because in this advert which was from before the 21st
century. This is because in the current adverts A.G Barr have
advertised irn bru in a humorous way , this is shown
through funny story's , dilemmas and using a play on words.
Also in the new adverts they have advertised irn bru with a
tag line “it will get you through” , this may help people to
remember this brand. The reason they may have changed
their adverts could be to stay competitive to the leading
soft drink sellers , for example coca cola and Pepsi. This
advert shows the product irn bru to be a drink that makes
you happy and energetic. This is shows as everyone who
has a drink of irn bru seems to be happy. This advert also
focuses on the music which is different to the current
adverts. The music advertises the product due to it singing
about irn bru. The song also targets it younger audience
due to the song being joyful and happy which has
connotations of youth and children. The advert advertises
there product successfully due to the orange liquid standing
out in the dark. This is eye catching and will draw the
audiences attention to it.
Client research:
The final way Barr advertises irn bru is through its website and social media. The irn bru website contains all their main
adverts , facts and even a game. This helps to interact and promote their product as the whole website is regarding irn bru.
Irn bru which is on social media platforms such as Instagram , Facebook and twitter post pictures advertising its product.
The pictures would often engage with the audience which may pursued them to buy the product for example they would
have funny captions or maybe involve the audience for example , tag that someone special or for the royal weeding
“nothing beats a ginger” and there is a can of irn bru in this woman's hand. This is a very effective way to promote their
product due to the amount of people on these platforms. This is also effective as nowadays businesses can promote their
product to a specific audience and also see what you have clicked on. With the majority of their target audience being on
social media and online it is important to try and grow their following. This could be done through giveaways and also
adverts elsewhere maybe on the TV or even print based adverts like irn bru posters.
Overall through all their ways of advertising this product they
have done it successfully. This is because throughout the years,
IRN-BRU's irreverent and humorous advertising has continued
to entertain fans up and down the country and has won the
brand many awards over the years. Barr also claims that they
sell 20 cans of irn bru a second.
Market research:
This graph is showing the Leading soft drink
brands ranked by grocery sales volume in the
United Kingdom in 2017 (in million liters). On this
graph it shows that the the leading soft drink is
private label. This is because this is the cheapest
brand as supermarkets usually sell the own brand
drinks for under £1 per 2 liters compared to a
branded fizzy drink for approximately £1.50.
This graph also shows that irn bru is not very
popular within the whole of united kingdom and
that coca cola is the most popular branded fizzy
drink by 370 million liters. This graph also
doesn't’t take into account just Scotland as then
irn bru would be first and coca cola second.
Market research:
The Coca-Cola Company is the world's biggest drinks company, controlling more than half
the global market in carbonated soft drinks as well as a substantial chunk of the somewhat
larger non-carbonated segment. It owns four of the world's five best-selling soft drinks. Its
main brand is of course itself coca cola, the world's best known and most valuable non
technology brand. But the company also sells more than 500 other drink brands ranging
from variants like Diet Coke and sister products such as Fanta and sprite to a vast range of
carbonated and non-carbonated juice-based drinks, bottled waters, iced teas and coffees.
Coca cola
Coca cola adverts first started in newspapers in 1885. As
time progressed companies and especially coca cola
started to publish adverts in magazines , this started in the
1960s. Coca cola also started to do radio jingles of their tag
line back then “things go better with coca coke”. This
became very popular. Now coca cola as all other big
companies make TV advertisements which will appeal with
a large amount of people. To do this coca cola would put
their adverts in the breaks of prime time TV. Also in their
adverts they have included many celebrity's , this would
influence their audience to buy the product as they may
want to aspire to that celebrity.
In this advert coca cola shows it
product to be powerful enough to
make you new friends. This is shown
as 2 people on this train do not know
each other and the older man has a
coke and they both share it due to the
bottle. This advert also uses the
famous tag line “share a coke” , this
tag line shows that you can share a
coke with anyone even someone you
have not met. The message they are
trying to show is that people in this
generation are obsess with
technology and have added that
element within the advert. I also think
that coca cola are trying to show that
you can make friends just as easy as
online with a coke.
This advert advertises it product successfully in my
opinion because the product is the center of
attention and also the audience will remember
them both sharing a coke. In this advert the
camera at the end focuses the coke bottle which
draws the audiences attention immediately.
Market research:
These adverts are both for a similar product however the adverts are very different. The coca cola advert shows people having fun in the summer time as
irn bru shows a man being faced with a problem due to his blind date not being up to his expectations and irn bru helps him get through it. The tag line for
this coca cola is also “taste the feeling” which implies and shows that they are having a good time so that the coke they have will taste good. This is
different to irn bru due to there tag line being “irn bru gets you through”. The irn bru tag line implies that whenever you are shocked or confused irn bru will
help you through it. The adverts both also target very similar audiences , this is shown in the irn bru add as they try to appeal to the Scottish audience due
to them being Scottish and also using comedy which will appeal to the younger viewers. This is very similar in the coca cola advert as they are also targeting
young people due to themselves being young. They also are trying to appeal to active people due to them jumping from cliffs , swimming and running.
This implies that if you have a coke this will help you enjoy yourself. The colors used in the 2 adverts are also slightly different. This is shown in the irn bru
advert as they are in a restaurant where there are darker colors however in the other advert they show lighter colors which have connotations of happiness
and youth. Another difference between these adverts is that In the coca cola add they have an upbeat song in the background which says the tag line “taste
the feeling” , this will help attract the audience due to upbeat and pop music is usually associated with young people. This is completely different to the irn
bru advert as they do not have any music playing and have gone with a humorous story. Irn bru may have chosen to do that due to they audience being
more male than female and usually men are more immature and find more things funny. The coca cola audience is also nearly even which explains there
advert.
Market research:
From looking at this advert you can tell that this is
aimed at teenagers and specifically the male audience
this is because they has used the colours green and
black and also grey. These are all stereotypically
targeted at boys. This is due to most teenagers and
boys play Xbox which includes a similar green colour.
The hulk is also a very masculine and muscular
character who is also a similar colour. The colour green
is also seen as a heeling and potion colour , this could
be showing that monster energy will heel you and will
give you the energy you need. The colour black and
grey also have masculine factors such as strong and
powerful , arguably you could say that some men want
to feel like this. The colour black also makes the bold
writing stand out. The font used on the video advert
also has quite a masculine look due to it looking quite
gangster like. This is because it is messy which is
associated with men and it also looks like graffiti. This
shows that it is associated and targeted at male
teenagers due to graffiti being typically more of a male
style of art and also the font being messy unlike
typically women's writing which is neat and tidy.
In this advert monster energy is being associated
with athletes. This will appeal to the audience as
they may aspire to look like them or this could
influence them to get fit and healthy. Monster
energy is also being showed to give these athletes a
boost and pushes them to achieve the best they can.
This indicates that there
target audience is older
kids and teenagers.
This shows that this
is where the product
is most popular due
to the choice of
bank.
This shows that their
audience is slightly
more male than
female.
This secondary research shows
the audience that buy irn bru.
This shows that they are
most likely teenagers due
to their hobbies and
interests being very
popular within this
audience.
Audience research:
For my primary research I conducted a survey using survey monkey about irn bru and other soft drinks. This then was
distributed to irn brus target audience which is 15-18 year olds.
From this graph you can see that 100% said they did.
This wasn’t surprising to me due to them being such a
big part of todays society. This is because in the
supermarkets we see new fizzy drinks and even new
flavours. Soft drinks also stretches to orange juice and
other drinks similar. This graph also shows how big the
soft drinks market is.
From the answers from question 5 you can see that irn bru adverts are
actually more popular within this 7 people. This is because they are
more funny than the standard coca cola and other soft drink adverts.
This shows that irn bru is a popular drink however based on my market
research they are not as popular as others such as Lucozade and Fanta ,
however in Scotland they would be more popular than these brands.
Finally this shows that the irn bru adverts are appealing to this
audience successfully by using humour.
From this graph you can see that 71.43% of the
audience like irn bru and 28.57% do not like it.
This was again not very suppressing as irn bru is
mainly a Scottish drink and appeals more to them ,
this means that irn bru is more popular over there.
Irn bru is also quite a unique taste. Overall I think
that this graph would look a lot different if the
question was do you like coca cola. This is because
coca cola controls the soft drinks market and sells
more drinks.
From question number 4 you can see that humour would appeal to
the audience. This suggests that the irn bru adverts will appeal to
them due to them being funny. This also shows that comedy is very
important if you want to appeal to 15-18 year olds. This was fairly
surprising to me due to myself thinking that coca cola adverts
appeals to the audience more. This finally shows that this is a very
competitive market and each interindividual product has to appeal
to there audience.
From these responses you can see that people buy
the soft drinks based on the taste and not the
brand. Also the responses show that people also
want an affordable drink. This applies to irn bru as
that is an affordable product which people may
think tastes good. This also shows that soft drinks
have to taste good in order for the consumer to
buy them. This is different to other products as
people just pay for the brand.
This graph shows that there is a slight difference
between how print and other adverts appeal to
the audience. On this graph you can see that over
half 57.14% think that print adverts appeal to
them. The reason they may not appeal to the
other people could be because of reasons such as
them not leaving the house as often as others or
them not being as aware of their surroundings.
Finally this graph shows that people are still
intrigued by print adverts. To make them more
appealing you could include brighter colors ,
larger fonts or picture.
Audience research
From the answers you can see that people drink fizzy drinks at least once
a week if not more. This shows that the soft drink audience and market is
very popular. This is shown by coca cola alone selling more than 1.9 billion
bottles in 200 countries each day. This suggests that it is important for irn
bru to target and appeal to their audience correctly so that they can get
more customers and ultimately keep up with competition from other soft
drink brands such as lucazade and coca cola. To do this they could add in
new flavors or introduce new packaging.
From this graph you can see that the irn bru packaging appeals
to this audience. This could be because of the bright orange
color used. This graph also shows that 28.57% said that the
packaging didn’t’t appeal to them. This could be because of the
other brands they like such as coca cola. This means that people
may find others packaging more appealing.

Individual idea
One idea is that I will include an atari breakout/space invaders game where the irn bru cans are heavily used. This is
because the aim of this project is to advertise this project. For this game I will include possibly 3 levels with possible power
ups. For each of the levels I will include something Scottish due to that being the main audience of their product. For level
1 I may include a kilt, shortbread , whisky or even a Scottish person. All these are connotations of Scotland. Furthermore in
my game I will include a loading scree. This will include a start button , how to play and possibly a ball selection. For the
ball I want to have something simple but effective , one idea I had was a biscuit or even something like haggis. Also in my
game I will include an ending screen , this will include a score and also an options button. Also on my ending screen I want
to include a similar layout to games like doodle jump or space invaders. This is due to myself remembering what is on
them. For the buttons on the ending and loading screen to be an irn bru bottle due to them being simple to make and also
advertising the product. For the music and sound effects I looked at other similar and other games such as attari breakout ,
space invaders and even Mario. Whilst looking at these games I wanted to include similar noises such as a coin noise and a
power up noise. I will include the sound effects for when the powerups come into the game and also when

Adverts will also be shown on YouTube and online , for example irn bru may have there adverts between a male youtuber with a male audience. In this specific irn bru advert I have watched they show how drinking irn bru can get you through life. This is shown by usually a man has a real life dilemma or has a difference of opinion and irn bru helps solve the issue , usually by agreeing. In these adverts they also normally express humor , this is to make the audience laugh. Humor will help sell this product due to people remembering that advert. In this specific advert they show an English bulldog which is a symbol of England to be on top of this mans Scottish rug and irn bru and irn bru helps the Scottish man be civil. Overall I think that this advert does a good job of advertising irn bru due to its tag line “irn bru gets you through” , this makes people want to buy it as firstly it sticks and you remember it and also people may want it so that they can “get through”. The advert also does a good job due to showing the actual product as it shows Scottish people which is were the product is most popular as well as at the end they show a kind of poster of the product.

This is because these specific adverts are bright and out there. These adverts also engage the audience due to them being funny and usually using a play on words. This also may surprise the audience due to them being out of the ordinary. Barr may chose to do this because posters can be put just about anywhere and seen by almost anyone. Posters can be strategically located to target a particular market sector. For example, take-out restaurants might prefer to situate posters near busy bus stops or train stations. Posters and other print advertising also is low cost compared to a TV advert. Another reason they may do this is because people at bus stops and other people who are alert of there surroundings will notice and view these adverts. This Is why they are effective. These adverts are also targeted at the male audience and specifically teenagers. This is due to them including immature humor , this appeals to this audience due to them being quite immature themselves and also them finding this funny. The color orange also symbolizes the drink and also has connotations of fire which is related to teenagers due to danger and mischievous. The reason they may have changed their adverts could be to stay competitive to the leading soft drink sellers , for example coca cola and Pepsi. This advert shows the product irn bru to be a drink that makes you happy and energetic. This is shows as everyone who has a drink of irn bru seems to be happy. This advert also focuses on the music which is different to the current adverts. The music advertises the product due to it singing about irn bru. The song also targets it younger audience due to the song being joyful and happy which has connotations of youth and children. The advert advertises there product successfully due to the orange liquid standing out in the dark. This is eye catching and will draw the audiences attention to it.

This is a very effective way to promote their product due to the amount of people on these platforms. This is also effective as nowadays businesses can promote their product to a specific audience and also see what you have clicked on. With the majority of their target audience being on social media and online it is important to try and grow their following. This could be done through giveaways and also adverts elsewhere maybe on the TV or even print based adverts like irn bru posters. Overall through all their ways of advertising this product they have done it successfully. This is because throughout the years, IRN-BRU's irreverent and humorous advertising has continued to entertain fans up and down the country and has won the brand many awards over the years. Barr also claims that they sell 20 cans of irn bru a second.
  • 11. Market research: This graph is showing the Leading soft drink brands ranked by grocery sales volume in the United Kingdom in 2017 (in million liters). On this graph it shows that the the leading soft drink is private label. This is because this is the cheapest brand as supermarkets usually sell the own brand drinks for under £1 per 2 liters compared to a branded fizzy drink for approximately £1.50. This graph also shows that irn bru is not very popular within the whole of united kingdom and that coca cola is the most popular branded fizzy drink by 370 million liters. This graph also doesn't’t take into account just Scotland as then irn bru would be first and coca cola second.

Market research: The Coca-Cola Company is the world's biggest drinks company, controlling more than half the global market in carbonated soft drinks as well as a substantial chunk of the somewhat larger non-carbonated segment. It owns four of the world's five best-selling soft drinks. Its main brand is of course itself coca cola, the world's best known and most valuable non technology brand. But the company also sells more than 500 other drink brands ranging from variants like Diet Coke and sister products such as Fanta and sprite to a vast range of carbonated and non-carbonated juice-based drinks, bottled waters, iced teas and coffees. Coca cola Coca cola adverts first started in newspapers in 1885. As time progressed companies and especially coca cola started to publish adverts in magazines , this started in the 1960s. Coca cola also started to do radio jingles of their tag line back then “things go better with coca coke”. This became very popular. Now coca cola as all other big companies make TV advertisements which will appeal with a large amount of people. To do this coca cola would put their adverts in the breaks of prime time TV. Also in their adverts they have included many celebrity's , this would influence their audience to buy the product as they may want to aspire to that celebrity. In this advert coca cola shows it product to be powerful enough to make you new friends. This is shown as 2 people on this train do not know each other and the older man has a coke and they both share it due to the bottle. This advert also uses the famous tag line “share a coke” , this tag line shows that you can share a coke with anyone even someone you have not met. The message they are trying to show is that people in this generation are obsess with technology and have added that element within the advert. I also think that coca cola are trying to show that you can make friends just as easy as online with a coke. This advert advertises it product successfully in my opinion because the product is the center of attention and also the audience will remember them both sharing a coke. In this advert the camera at the end focuses the coke bottle which draws the audiences attention immediately.
  • 13. Market research: These adverts are both for a similar product however the adverts are very different. The coca cola advert shows people having fun in the summer time as irn bru shows a man being faced with a problem due to his blind date not being up to his expectations and irn bru helps him get through it. The tag line for this coca cola is also “taste the feeling” which implies and shows that they are having a good time so that the coke they have will taste good. This is different to irn bru due to there tag line being “irn bru gets you through”. The irn bru tag line implies that whenever you are shocked or confused irn bru will help you through it. The adverts both also target very similar audiences , this is shown in the irn bru add as they try to appeal to the Scottish audience due to them being Scottish and also using comedy which will appeal to the younger viewers. This is very similar in the coca cola advert as they are also targeting young people due to themselves being young. They also are trying to appeal to active people due to them jumping from cliffs , swimming and running. This implies that if you have a coke this will help you enjoy yourself. The colors used in the 2 adverts are also slightly different. This is shown in the irn bru advert as they are in a restaurant where there are darker colors however in the other advert they show lighter colors which have connotations of happiness and youth. Another difference between these adverts is that In the coca cola add they have an upbeat song in the background which says the tag line “taste the feeling” , this will help attract the audience due to upbeat and pop music is usually associated with young people. This is completely different to the irn bru advert as they do not have any music playing and have gone with a humorous story. Irn bru may have chosen to do that due to they audience being more male than female and usually men are more immature and find more things funny. The coca cola audience is also nearly even which explains there advert.

Market research: From looking at this advert you can tell that this is aimed at teenagers and specifically the male audience this is because they has used the colours green and black and also grey. These are all stereotypically targeted at boys. This is due to most teenagers and boys play Xbox which includes a similar green colour. The hulk is also a very masculine and muscular character who is also a similar colour. The colour green is also seen as a heeling and potion colour , this could be showing that monster energy will heel you and will give you the energy you need. The colour black and grey also have masculine factors such as strong and powerful , arguably you could say that some men want to feel like this. The colour black also makes the bold writing stand out. The font used on the video advert also has quite a masculine look due to it looking quite gangster like. This is because it is messy which is associated with men and it also looks like graffiti. This shows that it is associated and targeted at male teenagers due to graffiti being typically more of a male style of art and also the font being messy unlike typically women's writing which is neat and tidy. In this advert monster energy is being associated with athletes. This will appeal to the audience as they may aspire to look like them or this could influence them to get fit and healthy. Monster energy is also being showed to give these athletes a boost and pushes them to achieve the best they can.
  • 15. This indicates that there target audience is older kids and teenagers. This shows that this is where the product is most popular due to the choice of bank. This shows that their audience is slightly more male than female. This secondary research shows the audience that buy irn bru. This shows that they are most likely teenagers due to their hobbies and interests being very popular within this audience.
  • 16. Audience research: For my primary research I conducted a survey using survey monkey about irn bru and other soft drinks. This then was distributed to irn brus target audience which is 15-18 year olds. From this graph you can see that 100% said they did. This wasn’t surprising to me due to them being such a big part of todays society. This is because in the supermarkets we see new fizzy drinks and even new flavours. Soft drinks also stretches to orange juice and other drinks similar. This graph also shows how big the soft drinks market is. From the answers from question 5 you can see that irn bru adverts are actually more popular within this 7 people. This is because they are more funny than the standard coca cola and other soft drink adverts. This shows that irn bru is a popular drink however based on my market research they are not as popular as others such as Lucozade and Fanta , however in Scotland they would be more popular than these brands. Finally this shows that the irn bru adverts are appealing to this audience successfully by using humour.
  • 17. From this graph you can see that 71.43% of the audience like irn bru and 28.57% do not like it. This was again not very suppressing as irn bru is mainly a Scottish drink and appeals more to them , this means that irn bru is more popular over there. Irn bru is also quite a unique taste. Overall I think that this graph would look a lot different if the question was do you like coca cola. This is because coca cola controls the soft drinks market and sells more drinks. From question number 4 you can see that humour would appeal to the audience. This suggests that the irn bru adverts will appeal to them due to them being funny. This also shows that comedy is very important if you want to appeal to 15-18 year olds. This was fairly surprising to me due to myself thinking that coca cola adverts appeals to the audience more. This finally shows that this is a very competitive market and each interindividual product has to appeal to there audience.
  • 18. From these responses you can see that people buy the soft drinks based on the taste and not the brand. Also the responses show that people also want an affordable drink. This applies to irn bru as that is an affordable product which people may think tastes good. This also shows that soft drinks have to taste good in order for the consumer to buy them. This is different to other products as people just pay for the brand. This graph shows that there is a slight difference between how print and other adverts appeal to the audience. On this graph you can see that over half 57.14% think that print adverts appeal to them. The reason they may not appeal to the other people could be because of reasons such as them not leaving the house as often as others or them not being as aware of their surroundings. Finally this graph shows that people are still intrigued by print adverts. To make them more appealing you could include brighter colors , larger fonts or picture. Audience research
  • 19. From the answers you can see that people drink fizzy drinks at least once a week if not more. This shows that the soft drink audience and market is very popular. This is shown by coca cola alone selling more than 1.9 billion bottles in 200 countries each day. This suggests that it is important for irn bru to target and appeal to their audience correctly so that they can get more customers and ultimately keep up with competition from other soft drink brands such as lucazade and coca cola. To do this they could add in new flavors or introduce new packaging. From this graph you can see that the irn bru packaging appeals to this audience. This could be because of the bright orange color used. This graph also shows that 28.57% said that the packaging didn’t’t appeal to them. This could be because of the other brands they like such as coca cola. This means that people may find others packaging more appealing.

  • 28. Individual idea One idea is that I will include an atari breakout/space invaders game where the irn bru cans are heavily used. This is because the aim of this project is to advertise this project. For this game I will include possibly 3 levels with possible power ups. For each of the levels I will include something Scottish due to that being the main audience of their product. For level 1 I may include a kilt, shortbread , whisky or even a Scottish person. All these are connotations of Scotland. Furthermore in my game I will include a loading scree. This will include a start button , how to play and possibly a ball selection. For the ball I want to have something simple but effective , one idea I had was a biscuit or even something like haggis. Also in my game I will include an ending screen , this will include a score and also an options button. Also on my ending screen I want to include a similar layout to games like doodle jump or space invaders. This is due to myself remembering what is on them. For the buttons on the ending and loading screen to be an irn bru bottle due to them being simple to make and also advertising the product. For the music and sound effects I looked at other similar and other games such as attari breakout , space invaders and even Mario. Whilst looking at these games I wanted to include similar noises such as a coin noise and a power up noise. I will include the sound effects for when the powerups come into the game and also when

I then just chose a small plain ball however I will probably change it for something more Scottish. Possibly haggis.
