This document summarizes a study on the design, analysis and weight optimization of leaf springs for light vehicles. The researchers modeled two different designs of a leaf spring using CREO 2.0 software and analyzed them using HYPERWORKS. The analysis found weight reductions of 14.47% for 55Si2Mn90 steel and 14.37% for 50CrV4 steel by incorporating holes into the leaf spring design. Finite element analysis showed von Mises stresses were 12.91% lower for 50CrV4 and 18.21% lower for 55Si2Mn90 with the optimized hole design compared to the original design under the same loading conditions. The study concluded the hole design successfully reduced weight by over 14%
