This document describes a hybrid dielectric resonator antenna designed for Wi-MAX applications. The antenna consists of ring dielectric resonators and a square slot etched in the ground plane. Simulation results show the antenna operates in dual bands from 2.81-3.47 GHz and 5.54-5.96 GHz with return losses of -35.18 dB and -23.66 dB respectively. The antenna was designed and simulated using Ansoft HFSS software. The hybrid structure integrates the benefits of dielectric resonators and slot antennas to provide a compact dual-band antenna suitable for Wi-MAX frequencies.
