Portugal - Aveiro
Aveiro is a district located in the central
coastal region of Portugal. The capital of
the district is the city of Aveiro and it is
composed by 19 municipalities, one of
which is Oliveira do Bairro.

Venice of Portugal, because
it has its famous Ria de
Aveiro, distinguished by its
canals navigated by
colorful boats
(“moliceiros”), traditionally
used for the harvest of
algae.

• Our school is located in Oliveira do Bairro, which is a city located in the District of
Aveiro, in the central region Portugal, with about 23 000 habitants.
• It is home to a small municipality with 88 km² in area and subdivided into 4 smaller
villages.

7. Our School.. IPB
Instituto Profissional da Bairrada opened
its doors in 2014 with very few students
and since then it has grown greatly. It
was founded by Comendador Almeida
Roque, who is from the region and
dedicated his life to the ceramic
business and now decided to give back
to his community. Our school now
specializes in three main courses:
Industrial Maintenance; Automation and
mechanics; and Electronics, automation
and commands.
