2. General presentation
The “Mihai Eminescu” College of Bacău
comprises two levels of education:
• general secondary
• Postsecondary
The postsecondary level is a VET adult level that
trains future nurses for three years.

3. The target group for our project
The present project is aimed at the general
secondary level that teaches around 600
students from 14 to 19 years old. The
specializations in our school are:
• natural sciences;
• computer science;
• social sciences;
• philology.

4. Brief description of our students
• Around 30% of the students come from the
surrounding villages. Due to the proximity to
the main railway station, our institution has a
boarding school that houses 110 students.
• The school also hosts 30 students from the
Republic of Moldova who study here on a
grant from the Romanian government.

• Judging by their results at the national
examinations, our students are medium
achievers.
• Our school aims at developing the students to
their top potential from
a curricular point of view (in order to help them
get better results at the national examinations)
 and an extracurricular point of view, so as to
foster their subsequent professional and social
integration.

• The school has a wide offer of elective courses
that match the students’ needs and interests
in order to facilitate the students’ creativity
and autonomy.
• We also promote the students’ participation
in various activities and contests.

17. How can we contribute to the
Erasmus+ partnership?
• The Romanian curriculum contains the subject
“Entrepreneurial education” as part of the core
curriculum.
• This subject is studied in the Xth grade by the
students of all specializations.
• The main contents are:
The management of personal resources;
Setting up and administering a business;
Ethics in business;
Risk and success in business.

20. Basic information
• Bacău is the main city in Bacău
County, Romania.
• At the 2011 census it had a population of
144,307 making it the 15th largest city in
Romania.
• It covers 43.19 km2 .
• The city is situated in the historical region
of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian
Mountains.
