1. Final Project Unit Plan: Day 5
A – Analyze Learners
I will be teaching 25 first graders about the 43 Presidents of the United State, their duties as
President, and the important symbols of our country.
S – Select Objectives
I want the students to learn more about our President by as a class exploring different activities
we can do using Pinterest. I also want the students to write a letter to the President, and
compare and contrast our president (Obama) to our first ever president (Washington). As a class
we will make a class wikispace which will organize all of our work on to one web page.
S – Select Methods, Media, and Materials
As a class we will explore second life by taking a virtual tour through the White House. Also,
each student will turn in their assignments we have completed throughout the Unit Plan.
U – Utilize Media and Materials
Second Life will be used to let students become familiar with the White House by virtually
exploring the inside.Wikispaces.com will be used to organize the student’s projects into one wiki
for the class.
R – Require Learner Participation
The students will each get a turn to navigate my second life avatar as they explore the White
House. Students will also each have to upload their files to the class wiki space.
E – Evaluate and Revise
I will grade the students on how well they participate as we explore the White House and if they
upload their files to the wikispace by the deadline.
