Volcanoes

Analyze the Learner
Teaching about volcanoes to 5th graders.
There are 20 students, 10 girls and 10 boys.
There are 8 Hispanics, 4 Chinese, and 8 Caucasian.
Main Objectives
The students will describe how a volcano is formed after
looking at diagrams, participating in class discussion,
seeing videos, making a map locating the Ring of Fire,
and making a poster for the volcano of their choice by the
end of the week with 90% accuracy.
Day by Day
Monday- I will introduce volcanoes.
Tuesday- Students will learn how volcanoes are formed.
Wednesday- Students will learn about the different
volcanoes.
Thursday- Students will learn about what causes them to
erupt.
Friday- Students will construct individual volcanoes.
Use of Technology
Students will use computers to get pictures and
information for their posters, and they will use
websites to learn more about volcanoes.
