1. A- Analyze Learners
Studentsare in1st grade special education.There are 17 studentstotal,10 boysand 7 girls.70%
of the studentsare white,20%are AfricanAmerican,and10% are Latino.7 of the studentshave
ADHD.
S- State Objective
Studentswill reciteall 12 monthsof the year bylookingandmakingat calendars,singingsongs,
watchingvideos,andplayinggames.The performance isexpectedtobe 100% accurate.If not,
studentswill worktogetheringroups.
S- SelectMethods,Media,and Materials
Smartboard,books,colorful calendarsfull of imagesrelatingtoeachmonth,projectors,videos,
songs,and posters.
U- Utilize Mediaand Materials
The materialswill be usedtohelpthe studentslearnthe monthsof the year,use technology,
and teachthem howto work ingroups.
R- Require Learner Participation
I will saythe monthsof the year,slowly,astheyare placedonthe smartboardusinga projector,
pointingtothe words.Then,I will askthe studentstorepeatafterme.Everydayfor the rest of
the week,the monthswill be placedonthe boardbutthe studentswill have tosaythem
withouthelp.Eventually,Iwill arrange the monthsinrandomorderandthe studentswill place
theminthe correct order.Studentswillbe askedtowalkaroundthe room andfindobjectswith
a monthname onthemor a picture representingamonth.Studentswill playgamesinvolving
theirbirthdays.Iwill askwhatmonththeywere borninand theywill have togetin a straight
line,inorder.Thiswill alsohelpwiththeiradditionskills.Studentswill listentosongsandsing
themto helplearnthe months.
E- Evaluate and Revise
Studentsknowledge of the 12 monthswill be evaluatedbyhavingthemmake theirown
calendar.Foreach month,the studentscancolor a picture that remindsthemof eachmonth.
Theywill alsoplaya matchinggame,whichwill determine theirknowledge.
