The Process of learning to behave in a way that is acceptable to society.
Social Socialization:.
Socialization is a process that introduces people to social norms and customs.

 Secondary Socialization

3. Primary Socialization:.
Primary socialization takes place from birth through
adolescence.
Secondary Socialization:.
Continuous throughout ones life.
Adults:.
As may occur whenever people find themselves in
new circumstances.
Purpose of Socialization:.
During socialization, A person learns to become a
member of a group community, or society.
Social Control:.
Socialization teaches people what is expected of
them in a particular group or situation.

Primary Socialization
Anticipatory Socialization
Professional socialization
Re-Socialization
i. Primary Socialization:.
this is a early childhood socialization.
ii. Anticipatory Socialization:.
This stage occur between the childhood & adulthood.
iii. Professional socialization
this is occurs during the adulthood.
iv. Re-Socialization
Sometimes when an individual changes his group and become the part of new group and
becomes become a part of new group they have to abandon his old way of life.

Since mass media has enormous effects on our attitudes and behavior, it contributes to the
socialization process.
