The company is making the best use of materials when they are considering the environmental issue.
According to the Museum of Modern Art in America (2008), when MUJI is making a product, they
focus on three simple elements: materials, process and packaging. That is the concept of the MUJI.
MUJI is giving a new life style to the world. But how MUJI selling a life style to the world?
MUJI want to present the life style is that they want to give customers the kind not appetite, but
acceptance. Kenya Hara(2008), who is the muji 's art–director, said " As a brand, MUJI has neither
striking idiosyncrasies nor specific aesthetics. We don't want to be is what really want," or "I simply
must have this." If most brands are after that, MUJI should be after its opposite."
MUJI want to let the customer accept and like the their product. For example, When you are ordering a
spaghetti. You say ' I want to have a spaghetti, ' and not say ' Spaghetti will do ', the first one will be
more polite and feeling better than the second one. That is same in the fashion and music, lifestyle, etc.
Kenya Hara(2008) say " Like the value of individuality, the attitude of clearly expressing likes and
dislikes has been unnecessary esteemed. Desire and freedom may carry similar values. Now that I think
about it, in the modern era, we have constructed a society in which every single person has been able to
express his or her desire."
Now everyone can shout what they like and

Combustion Of Fireworks Research Paper
Fireworks started as people throwing bamboo into a fire to make a loud noise. To this day, fireworks
have changed so dramatically! In the beginning when gunpowder was discovered the Chinese would
stuff bamboo with gunpowder and then light the bamboo to make a firework. Over time, scientist have
mixed different materials together to try and make a louder and brighter explosion. Instead of fireworks
having a single casing there is multiple casings. This helps fireworks to not explode all at once. Noises
are also a big deal, in the beginning, it was crackling noises, over time scientist have discovered that the
more gunpowder you use the louder it gets. For a very long time the color of firework was yellow.
During the 19th century, scientist have been mixing chemicals to make more colors. Firepower was a
big deal and was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are 7 key factors to the successful combustion of fireworks. The first is fuel that burns the star.
The most common type of fuel is charcoal, however, black powder or gunpowder will also work. Next,
oxidisers are vital because they provide oxygen that will stabilize the combustion of fuel. Reducing
agents, another part of the composition of a firework, burn the oxygen provided by the oxidiser in order
to create hot gasses. Then, regulators are metals that control the speed of the reaction. Next, one of the
most important parts of the composition is the colouring agents. These are what cause fireworks to have
color. Certain elements will make certain colors such as, Strontium causes red, Copper makes blue,
Barium creates green, Sodium forms yellow, Calcium produces orange, and Iron provides gold.
Combining Strontium and Copper will give off the color purple. A binder is the next item of the
composition. Binders secure the composition with a pasty substance like dextrin, paron, gum, or resin.
The final ingredient is chlorine donor. It reacts to the metals, and will intensify the

Noise Pollution Essay
Noise Pollution
Abstract No one on earth can escape the sounds of noise– an unwanted, disturbing sound that causes a
nuisance in the eye of the beholder. Noise is a disturbance to the human environment that is escalating
at such a high rate that it will become a major threat to the quality of human lives. In the past thirty
years, noise in all areas, especially in urban areas, have been increasing rapidly. There are numerous
effects on the human environment due to the increase in noise pollution. In the following paper, the
cause and effects of noise pollution will be presented in some detail. Slowly, insensibly, we seem to
accept noise and the physiological and psychological deterioration that accompanies it as an inevitable

This type of exposure to noise does not have to be as loud as a gun being fired; it can be as simple as a
person shouting across the room. The type of hearing loss is any degree from partial to complete
hearing loss. This loss, usually, is permanent and is not satisfactorily corrected by any devices such as,
hearing aids. The loss is caused by the destruction of the delicate hair cells and their auditory nerve
connections in the Organ of Corti, which is contained in the cochlea (Bugliarello, et al., 1976). Every
exposure to loud noise destroys some cells, but prolonged exposure damages a larger amount of cells,
and ultimately collapses the Organ of Corti, which causes deafness.
Most of society is now aware that noise can damage hearing. However, short of a threat that disaster
would overtake the human race if nothing is done about noise, it is unlikely that many people today
would become strongly motivated to do something about the problem. Yet, the evidence about the ill
effects of noise does not allow for complacency or neglect. For instance, researchers working with
children with hearing disorders are constantly reminded of the crucial importance of hearing to
children. In the early years the child cannot learn to speak without special training if he has enough
hearing loss to interfere effectively with the hearing of words in context

Sada Abe Research Paper
A good amount of the time, people will often take upon learning a second language. They may undergo
this for a variety of reasons. They want to live in the country that speaks the language, they're interested
in the culture, or they may just have a passion for language. I actually had a singular reason for learning
Japanese. Before you guess, no, it wasn't because of anime. Being someone who has an interest in
unique cases of murder, there were two intriguing cases that occurred in Japan that caught my eye: the
murder of Junko Furuta, and Sada Abe's murder of her lover.
To sum it up in the simplest terms, Junko Furuta was a seventeen–year–old girl tortured to death in the
Adachi ward of Tokyo, Japan in 1988. Furuta was beaten, burned, starved, ... Show more content on

She was a woman who killed her lover Kichizo Ishida in 1936 but it didn't end there. After erotically
asphyxiating Ishida, she proceeded to cut off his genitals and wrapped them in her kimono. Abe was
deeply in love with Ishida, so why kill him? Abe justified this with saying that since they weren't
married, Ishida was liable to be with other women. Abe killed him to make sure that no woman would
ever be with him except for her. Even then, why cut off his genitals? Abe told police that she wanted to
keep the most special part of Ishida with her. This murder was phenomenal as Abe didn't kill Ishida
because of jealousy or anger, she killed him to ensure that he would be forever hers.
I desperately attempted to find information about these cases, but the only information I could find that
were in English were on Wikipedia and Blogspot, certainly not credible sources. There have never been
English books written about these cases, but plenty of Japanese information, so I took it upon myself to
learn Japanese. With learning Japanese, I have discovered much more than I originally bargained for. I
have found my passion and my amazing knack for language, and I have found my dream

A New Phase of Japan’s Immigration Policy Essay
In 2000, the United Nations reported that an average of 609,000 immigrants per year from 1995
through 2050 is needed for Japan in order to maintain its workforce at the 1995 level (U. N. Population
Division 53). The news surprised many people in Japan, and they were forced to face the immigration
issue sincerely. This controversial issue has been discussed for last 150 years. Facing today's low birth–
rate and ageing population, Japan should now accept more immigrants and become a multi–ethnic
country in the future. On the other hand, there are strong oppositions against accepting immigrants for
economic and cultural reasons. To clarify the points, first the issue regarding foreign workers is
examined from the economic point of view in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Workers mainly from developing countries can learn technical skills as an intern and can be a skillful
worker at last. Another program for encouraging skilled foreign workers to come to Japan has just
started few years ago under the Economic Partnership Agreement with the Philippines and Indonesia.
Foreign nurses and care workers are now accepted in hospitals and nursing homes in Japan. Through
these programs, Japan is trying to meet the demands of the labor force in particular industries.
However, there are many reasons from the opposite side to restrict foreign workers coming to Japan
from the economic point of view. The strongest opposition is that there are enough women and retired
workers who are ready to work. Mainly because of the tax system and insufficient public supports for
them, Japanese women are not likely to return to their previous jobs after their first maternity leaves
(Only 32.5% of them returned in 2008) (Jinkoukozou Kenkyubu). Most of them have job experience
and can adjust new jobs immediately with less financial support than foreign workers need. Regarding
the programs for foreigners that the government promotes, they totally failed. The policy of the
Industrial Training and Technical Internship Program is to train unskilled foreign workers to become
skilled human resources for the countries where they came from, but the reality is

In 1905, Mr. H Piper filed a patent for a gasoline engine–electric motor powertrain. According to him,
the electric motor would augment a gasoline engine, allowing a vehicle to accelerate from zero to 25
miles an hour in 10 seconds, much faster than the gasoline engines of that time. Ironically, when finally
Mr.H Piper was granted the patent a few years later, normal engines were capable of producing the
same kind of acceleration.
Due to rapid advancements in the gasoline engine, the popularity of a hybrid car slowly diminished
untill again in the early to mid 1970s, the time of oil crisis. Many companies poured funds to build
experimental Hybrid Electric Vehicles. But as the oil became available again, the surge for HEVs died
down immediately.
The Europeans and Japanese researching on reducing production costs and making HEVs more salable.
Companies like Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi came up with ways to reduce emissions and
better the mileage.
Toyota introduced the Prius in 1997 (in Japan and in 2000 in the US) which proved to be a huge
success. Recent sales figures indicate that well over 300,000 units of Toyota Prius have been sold the
world over justifying the concept of a clean family car.
In 1999, Honda introduced its first production hybrid car, the Insight and then the Civic Hybrid in
2002.
Ford came up with the first hybrid SUV, the Escape, which hit the road in 2004. Quick on their path are

Baczko perceived that there were increasing global opportunities in the toy business. In an article in
1986 for the industry trade magazine, Playthings, he noted that customers overseas had higher
disposable income, were more educated, and had more free time. Moreover, these buyers were more
price conscious and tended to prefer specialty retailers, factors that favored the international expansion
of TRU.4
The first international store opened in 1984 in Canada. In 1986, TRU struck joint venture deals in
Singapore and Hong Kong. The company next expanded to the United Kingdom in
1987, into Germany in 1988, and into France and Taiwan in 1989. By 1994, TRU had penetrated the
Nordic countries and developed new franchise relationships with Top–Toy A/S, the leading
Scandinavian toy retailer. The franchise division also led to the entry of TRU to Israel, Saudi
Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, markets which would otherwise be prohibitive because of both
cultural differences and restrictive laws.
TRU learned to adapt to the different competitive retail situations in each country that it entered.
Different countries can have drastically different competitive environments. For example, supermarket
toy sales as a percentage of all toy sales range from about 4% in the United
Kingdom to 48% in France. High costs in land, labor, and distribution created problems in maintaining

Abstract
The first major bioterror event in the United States––the anthrax attacks in October 2001––was a
clarion call for scientists who work with "hot" agents to find ways of protecting civilian populations
against biological weapons. In The Demon in the Freezer, his first nonfiction book since The Hot Zone,

There are many mysteries about the smallpox virus. Since the seventeenth century, doctors have
understood that if the pustules merge into sheets across the body the victim will usually die: the virus
has split the whole skin. If the victim survives, the pustules turn into scabs and fall off, leaving scars.
This is known as ordinary smallpox.
Some people develop extreme smallpox, which is loosely called black pox. Doctors separate black pox
into two forms –– flat smallpox and hemorrhagic smallpox. In a case of flat smallpox, the skin remains
smooth and doesn't pustulate, but it darkens until it looks charred, and it can slip off the body in sheets.
In hemorrhagic smallpox, black, unclotted blood oozes or runs from the mouth and other body orifices.
Black pox is close to a hundred per cent fatal. If any sign of it appears in the body, the victim will
almost certainly die. In the bloody cases, the virus destroys the linings of the throat, the stomach, the
intestines, the rectum, and the vagina, and these membranes disintegrate. Fatal smallpox can destroy the
body's entire skin –– both the exterior skin and the interior skin that lines the passages of the body.
Smallpox virus's scientific name is variola. It means "spotted" in Latin, and it was given to the disease
by a medieval bishop. The virus, as a life form, comes in two subspecies:

heretical and misguided before its powerful social and political ideas were fully appreciated. Most
important, however, was the Rastafarian insistence that Africa was the promised land and that
Jamaicans should look to Africa for their model of value rather than to Europe, which was seen as
foolish and a painful reminder of slavery and oppression. Rasta was an offense to those who wanted to

Marketing consists of all the activities to facilitate the exchange. Within this societal perspective, then
(1) the makers (2) what they are marketing and (3) their potential markets all assume broad dimensions.
The category of marketers might include, in addition to business firms, such diverse social units as (a) a
political party trying to market its candidate to the public (b) the director of an art museum providing
new exhibits to generate greater attendance and financial support (c) a labor union marketing its idea to
members and to company management; and (d) professors trying to make their courses interesting for
students. In addition to the range of items normally considered as products and services, what is being
marketed might include (a) ideas such as reducing air pollution or contributing to the red cross (b)
people, such as new football coach or a political candidate and (c) places, such as industrial plant sites
or a place to for a vocation. In a broad sense markets include more than the direct consumers of
products services and ideas. Thus a state university's market includes the legislators who provide funds,
the citizens living near the university who may be affected by university activities and the alumni. A
business firms market may include government regulatory agencies, environmentalists, and local tax

The advent of social networking and other media has transformed the way citizens interact and how
businesses market, promote, and distribute their products globally. The same can be said for mass
collaboration efforts occurring through digital, online technology for the development of new and
innovative systems, products, and ideas. Both social networking and mass collaboration bring new
power and influence to individuals across borders and transform the nature of their relationships with
global organizations. As in the past, these developments underscore and reinforce the importance of
understanding different cultures, national systems, and corporate management practices around the
world. Students and managers now recognize that all business is global and that the world is now
interconnected not only geographically but also electronically and psychologically; it is hard to imagine
any business or nonbusiness organization that is not directly affected by globalization. Yet, as cultural,
political, and economic differences persist, savvy international managers must be able to develop a
global mindset in order to effectively adjust, adapt, and navigate the changing landscape they face on a
day–to–day basis. In this new eighth edition of International Management, we have taken care to retain

Kasushika Hokusai Research Paper
Katsushika Hokusai Is a well renown painter in our time. He is most known for his famous painting
"The Great Wave off Kanagawa". Though he had other lesser known paintings such as "Fine Wind,
Clear Morning" and "Oceans of Wisdom." He was born in 1760, although his actual birthdate is

inspired and where it came from. Hokusai was born into an artisan family in the Katsushika district of
Edo, Japan. The childhood name he was referred to as this time was Tokitaro. He would change names
over thirty times throughout his lifetime. His father, Nakijima Ise, was a prominent mirror maker for
the shogun and his mother was a concubine. The shogun were the top military commanders in Japan at
the time appointed by the emperor. It is believed that because of his father's artistic background that he
is the one who originally taught Hokusai how to paint at the age of six. At the age of twelve his father

Scientific Murder Essay
Scientific Murder:
Human Experimentation in Nazi Germany
The Nazi's were infamous for their cruel and unusual experiments on humans. Although they played a
small part of Nazi Germany's attempt at racial hygiene, these experiments desecrated and exterminated
thousands of humans (Lifton 269). "The Nazi medical experiments of the 1930's and 1940's are
the most famous example of recent disregard for ethical conduct " (Polit & Hungler 127).
For the sake of science, thousands lost their lives "I have no words. I thought we were human
beings. We were living creatures. How could they do things like that?" (Auschwitz survivor as
quoted in Lifton 269). Was it really science, or was it murder? ... Show more content on

Friedlander quotes Henrich Bunke saying, "It provided the opportunity to collaborate with
experienced professors, to do scientific work, and to complete my education." as his excuse for
joining T4 (127). Autopsies were the greatest opportunity for these young physicians. As a result,
human organs were available for research (Friedlander 127).
With the beginning of this program, scientists made the decision to utilize the killing program to benefit
research. Two institutes for research took a great part in benefiting from the killings. "The clinic
for Psychiatry and Neurology of Heidelberg University, directed by Professor Carl Schneider, and the
observation ward and research station at the state hospital in Brandenburg–Gorden, headed by Hans
Heinze" (Friedlander 127).
The experiments done on the camp prisoners can be divided into two categories. The first was created
to help the war effort and was performed by the medical services of the German military. The Luftwaffe
(German Air Force) performed high altitude experiments on camp prisoners to test conditions
experienced by pilots. Other examples of military experiments were inducing hypothermia, human
toleration of seawater ingestion, and immunization experiments against several diseases (Friedlander
132). Women were used in military experiments to test treatment of combat

Transgenderism in Japan
Aya Kamikawa– Reformation in the land of conformity Scholars have suggested that in the modern
Japanese society, transgendered individuals (transgendered individuals and transsexuals are
interchangeable and are referred to in the context of the Japanese society) are only valuable to the
entertainment industry (Mackie 412, McLelland 167–168). In a country where mainstream conformity
is promoted and preferred, any career outside of the entertainment and sex industries would seem
impossible to pursue for a transgendered individual (Mackie 411–412). While transgendered
individuals are more than welcome in the entertainment and sex industry due to the curiosity of the
audiences and clients (Mackie 412, Mitsuhashi 211–215, Rosario 94–95), ... Show more content on

Since there're no laws protecting transgendered individuals from employment discrimination, exposing
their original gender to a working environment would most likely result in dismissal from the position
due to the fear of scandals (Tang). Political contributions After securing a seat in the local assembly as
an official, Kamikawa started on her revolution road to fight for transgendered rights which changed
the lives of the transgendered population in Japan. During an interview after her election win, she states
"As long as we keep silent, nothing is going to change. We need the courage to make a society which
respects diversity" (Matsubara). Changing the Japanese Family Registry system One inevitable issue
that transgendered individuals face is the complications brought by the Family Registry (Koseki in
Japanese). Japanese law requires all Japanese households to report births, acknowledgement of
paternity, adoptions, deaths, marriages and divorces to the local authority, which then compiles the
informations into a document called Koseki. The Family Registration Law stated that the Koseki can
only be correct when "mistakes" are found. (e.g. incorrect spellings, incorrect birthdays etc.). The law
prohibits the individuals who have undergone sexual–reassignment surgeries from changing their
registered gender (Matsubara). When a family registry lists a gender different from a person's
appearance, life becomes complicated.

Roppongi Hills Essay
Roppongi Hills in Tokyo is often mentioned as one of the largest and most successful city renewal
projects that have ever been made after World WarⅡin Japan. The project started in 1984 and took
about 17 years to complete. The plan involved the city government, the land developer Mori Building
Co., and the residents living in the construction area. Just to reach agreements with 500 right holders,
the company had spent over 15 years ("Roppongi Hills."). The concept of the renewal plan seems
totally opposite from that of Jane Jacobs, but there is a point in the history of this Roppongi renewal
plan that is equivalent to her philosophy. Jane Jacobs' idea regarding a local community in the city was
accidentally realized in the process of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The site provides almost everything that a person needs for living and working in Tokyo. The most
distinct feature of Roppongi Hills, however, is not their immense and luxurious looks, but the
enormously long and complicated process to compete the project which may be unimaginable for Jane
Jacobs. In 1986, TV Asahi Co., which owned the main part of the location, decided to make a new
headquarters building there and consulted the Minato Ward Office and Mori Building Co. The Ward
suggested that they should also redevelop the surrounding area since it was packed with wooden
houses, small apartments, and condominiums with narrow streets which made it difficult for fire
engines to come into the area in an emergency. After the district was officially designated as a
redevelopment inducement area by Tokyo Metropolitan Government in the same year, Mori Building
started to negotiate with the residents there. According to Mori Building, their first contact with the
residents was totally unwelcoming. Most of the residents did not listen to them at all, but after their
repeated visits at each resident's house at least once in two weeks, many of them had gradually opened
their hearts and listened to what the developer said. The company explained to them that the plan was
not a buyout. It's the joint reconstruction of their houses and apartments. The company opened an

The Timken Company Case 46
THE TIMKEN COMPANY
In 2002, The Timken Company was considering acquiring The Torrington Company from Ingersoll–
Rand. The acquisition would make a clear statement to the market about Timken's commitment to
remain a worldwide leader in the bearing industry as it would result in the combination of more than
100 years of bearing manufacturing and development experience.
Because the two companies shared many of the same customers but had few products in common,
customers would surely appreciate the ability to have more of their needs met by Timken's sales
representatives. Moreover, Timken's potential annual cost savings from consolidating manufacturing
facilities and processes were estimated to be more than $80 million.

electronics industries. In 2002, NSK's sales reached $3.62 billion and employment topped 22,000,
spread across 50 subsidiaries worldwide. In 2002, Timken reported a net income of $38.7 million on
sales of $2.55 billion (Exhibit 1) and assets of $2.75 billion (Exhibit 2). Two–thirds of Timken's sales
came from bearings and about 20% of its sales were from outside the United States. Timken had
operations in 25 countries and employed nearly 18,000 workers.
The Timken Company
In 1898, veteran St. Louis carriage–maker Henry Timken patented a design for tapered roller bearings
(bearings enclosed between a pair of concentric rings) to facilitate the motion of carriage axles. The
following year, Timken and his sons, William and Henry (H. H.), founded The Timken Roller Bearing
Axle Company, which was the beginning of what was to become a global manufacturer of highly
engineered bearings, alloy and specialty steel, and related components. In 1902, the company moved to
Canton, Ohio, to be near the growing steelworks in Pittsburgh and the new automobile factories in
Buffalo, Cleveland, and Detroit. In 1908, with the debut of the Ford Model T, the Timkens' business
soared. In 1917, the company began making its own steel for bearings.
Timken stock was sold to the public for the first time in 1922. World War II created increased demand
for Timken's products, and the

The 10 decisions of Operation Management are: Service and Product Design; Quality; Process and
Capacity Design; Location; Layout Design; Human Resource; Supply Chain Management; Inventory;
Scheduling; Maintenance. Hard Rock is bringing the concept of the 'experience economy' to its cafe
operation. This innovation is somewhat akin to mass customization in manufacturing. At Hard Rock,
the experience concept is to provide not only a custom meal from the menu, but a dining event that
includes a unique visual and sound experience not duplicated anywhere in the world.
Here, we first discuss the Product Design and Quality: When Hard Rock Cafe is founded, first–rate, but
moderately priced casual American fare, warm service and ever–present rock 'n' roll music and
sensibility, it was initially decorated with an eye toward eclectic American. What started as an
American dinner in the heart of London has blossomed into a way of life. Now, social norms and
preferences often suggest some tweaking of menus for local taste. The following is several examples:
In Europe, particularly in British, there is still some fear of mad cow diseases. Therefore, Hard Rock
Café is focusing less on hamburgers and beef and more on fish and lobster in its British cafes. Such as,
it has Veggie Burger – A burger patty made of vegetables, cheese and spices served on a freshly toasted

3. Which is the most attractive customer segment for MBC to target? Explain your reasoning.
In my opinion, I think the "Little Leaguers" is the most attractive customer segment for MBC to target.
First of all, due to the reason that most of the children in Japan tend to play softball and baseball, Little
Leaguers has a high retention rate of 75%. This is really high compare to other customer segments.
10% of their customers become regular customers. And their core segment is really large as well. All of
these above reflected the large amount of customers that Maru can gain.
Second, though this segment needs two workers and one instructor, their parents are still willing to pay
extra more to let their children experience and learn from the batting center, which results a ¥500 in
their hourly margin. Comparing to other segments, Little Leaguers might have the lowest hourly
margin, however, every customer purchased ten hours (second high among all segments) in average per
year, which lead them to ¥5,000 for their annual margin.
Third, the acquisition of customers with the cost of ¥10,000 isn't too large to cover up with the profit in
following years. The middle school teams that Maru sponsored will receive clothes with MBC logo and
phone number on the arms. And the MBC advertisement will also be shown on the league rulebooks.
This is a great placement marketing that can efficiently increase

However, as recently as the 1970s, some governments and firms saw international marketing as an
"optional extra" of minor importance. International business was typically considered a field reserved
for a few trading companies and specialists. Other firms were content to focus on their domestic
markets and disregarded international dimensions.
Conditions have changed. Global trade has rapidly increased in both volume and value, reaching
nowadays more than $4 trillion in 1997 (Daniels J.D., Radebaugh, 1998, pg. 529). Competition is fierce
from all corners of the world. Failure at the global level can backfire and may consume existing brands
and business relationships. At the same time, global opportunities have emerged that offer possibilities
for growth, profit, and an improvement in worldwide standards of living.
Today, firms have to deal with a global marketplace; marketers have no other choice. Participation in
global marketing has begun to shift from a mere "option" to an imperative. The world is becoming
more homogeneous. Distinctions between national markets

Main article: The Need for Speed
The original Need for Speed was released for 3DO in 1994 with versions released for the PC (DOS)
(1995), PlayStation and Saturn (1996) following shortly afterwards. The Need for Speed and its Special
Edition were the only games in the series to support DOS. Subsequent releases for the PC run only
within Windows.
The first installment of the NFS was one of only two serious attempts by the series to provide a realistic
simulation of car handling and physics without arcade elements (the other being Porsche Unleashed).

game. In the PlayStation version, the McLaren F1 GTR was based on the 1997 Long Tail, while the PC
version was based on the original 95/96 version.

Porsche Unleashed (North America and Latin America title), Porsche 2000 (European title) or simply
Porsche (in Germany) is different from the previous versions, because it featured only Porsches and
featured a wealth of information regarding them.
The vehicle handling is considered the most realistic in any NFS game, and there is an in–depth
catalogue of different Porsche parts that span throughout the years. The player had to win races in the
Evolution career mode to unlock cars in chronological order from 1950 to 2000. Porsche Unleashed
also featured a Factory Driver mode, where the player had to test Porsches with various stunts and
move on with their career. The game is also the first in the series since the first NFS game to not feature

MUJI is giving a new life style to the world. But how MUJI selling a life style to the world? MUJI want to present the life style is that they want to give customers the kind not appetite, but acceptance. Kenya Hara(2008), who is the muji 's art–director, said " As a brand, MUJI has neither striking idiosyncrasies nor specific aesthetics. We don't want to be is what really want," or "I simply must have this." If most brands are after that, MUJI should be after its opposite." • 9. Combustion Of Fireworks Research Paper Fireworks started as people throwing bamboo into a fire to make a loud noise. To this day, fireworks have changed so dramatically! In the beginning when gunpowder was discovered the Chinese would stuff bamboo with gunpowder and then light the bamboo to make a firework. Over time, scientist have mixed different materials together to try and make a louder and brighter explosion. Instead of fireworks having a single casing there is multiple casings. This helps fireworks to not explode all at once. Noises are also a big deal, in the beginning, it was crackling noises, over time scientist have discovered that the more gunpowder you use the louder it gets. For a very long time the color of firework was yellow. During the 19th century, scientist have been mixing chemicals to make more colors. Firepower was a big deal and was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are 7 key factors to the successful combustion of fireworks. The first is fuel that burns the star. The most common type of fuel is charcoal, however, black powder or gunpowder will also work. Next, oxidisers are vital because they provide oxygen that will stabilize the combustion of fuel. Reducing agents, another part of the composition of a firework, burn the oxygen provided by the oxidiser in order to create hot gasses. Then, regulators are metals that control the speed of the reaction. Next, one of the most important parts of the composition is the colouring agents. These are what cause fireworks to have color. Certain elements will make certain colors such as, Strontium causes red, Copper makes blue, Barium creates green, Sodium forms yellow, Calcium produces orange, and Iron provides gold. Combining Strontium and Copper will give off the color purple. A binder is the next item of the composition. Binders secure the composition with a pasty substance like dextrin, paron, gum, or resin. The final ingredient is chlorine donor. It reacts to the metals, and will intensify the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Noise Pollution Essay Noise Pollution Abstract No one on earth can escape the sounds of noise– an unwanted, disturbing sound that causes a nuisance in the eye of the beholder. Noise is a disturbance to the human environment that is escalating at such a high rate that it will become a major threat to the quality of human lives. In the past thirty years, noise in all areas, especially in urban areas, have been increasing rapidly. There are numerous effects on the human environment due to the increase in noise pollution. In the following paper, the cause and effects of noise pollution will be presented in some detail. Slowly, insensibly, we seem to accept noise and the physiological and psychological deterioration that accompanies it as an inevitable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This type of exposure to noise does not have to be as loud as a gun being fired; it can be as simple as a person shouting across the room. The type of hearing loss is any degree from partial to complete hearing loss. This loss, usually, is permanent and is not satisfactorily corrected by any devices such as, hearing aids. The loss is caused by the destruction of the delicate hair cells and their auditory nerve connections in the Organ of Corti, which is contained in the cochlea (Bugliarello, et al., 1976). Every exposure to loud noise destroys some cells, but prolonged exposure damages a larger amount of cells, and ultimately collapses the Organ of Corti, which causes deafness. Most of society is now aware that noise can damage hearing. However, short of a threat that disaster would overtake the human race if nothing is done about noise, it is unlikely that many people today would become strongly motivated to do something about the problem. Yet, the evidence about the ill effects of noise does not allow for complacency or neglect. For instance, researchers working with children with hearing disorders are constantly reminded of the crucial importance of hearing to children. In the early years the child cannot learn to speak without special training if he has enough hearing loss to interfere effectively with the hearing of words in context ... • 13. Sada Abe Research Paper A good amount of the time, people will often take upon learning a second language. They may undergo this for a variety of reasons. They want to live in the country that speaks the language, they're interested in the culture, or they may just have a passion for language. I actually had a singular reason for learning Japanese. Before you guess, no, it wasn't because of anime. Being someone who has an interest in unique cases of murder, there were two intriguing cases that occurred in Japan that caught my eye: the murder of Junko Furuta, and Sada Abe's murder of her lover. To sum it up in the simplest terms, Junko Furuta was a seventeen–year–old girl tortured to death in the Adachi ward of Tokyo, Japan in 1988. Furuta was beaten, burned, starved, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was a woman who killed her lover Kichizo Ishida in 1936 but it didn't end there. After erotically asphyxiating Ishida, she proceeded to cut off his genitals and wrapped them in her kimono. Abe was deeply in love with Ishida, so why kill him? Abe justified this with saying that since they weren't married, Ishida was liable to be with other women. Abe killed him to make sure that no woman would ever be with him except for her. Even then, why cut off his genitals? Abe told police that she wanted to keep the most special part of Ishida with her. This murder was phenomenal as Abe didn't kill Ishida because of jealousy or anger, she killed him to ensure that he would be forever hers. I desperately attempted to find information about these cases, but the only information I could find that were in English were on Wikipedia and Blogspot, certainly not credible sources. There have never been English books written about these cases, but plenty of Japanese information, so I took it upon myself to learn Japanese. With learning Japanese, I have discovered much more than I originally bargained for. I have found my passion and my amazing knack for language, and I have found my dream ... A New Phase of Japan’s Immigration Policy Essay In 2000, the United Nations reported that an average of 609,000 immigrants per year from 1995 through 2050 is needed for Japan in order to maintain its workforce at the 1995 level (U. N. Population Division 53). The news surprised many people in Japan, and they were forced to face the immigration issue sincerely. This controversial issue has been discussed for last 150 years. Facing today's low birth– rate and ageing population, Japan should now accept more immigrants and become a multi–ethnic country in the future. On the other hand, there are strong oppositions against accepting immigrants for economic and cultural reasons. To clarify the points, first the issue regarding foreign workers is examined from the economic point of view in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Workers mainly from developing countries can learn technical skills as an intern and can be a skillful worker at last. Another program for encouraging skilled foreign workers to come to Japan has just started few years ago under the Economic Partnership Agreement with the Philippines and Indonesia. Foreign nurses and care workers are now accepted in hospitals and nursing homes in Japan. Through these programs, Japan is trying to meet the demands of the labor force in particular industries. However, there are many reasons from the opposite side to restrict foreign workers coming to Japan from the economic point of view. The strongest opposition is that there are enough women and retired workers who are ready to work. Mainly because of the tax system and insufficient public supports for them, Japanese women are not likely to return to their previous jobs after their first maternity leaves (Only 32.5% of them returned in 2008) (Jinkoukozou Kenkyubu). Most of them have job experience and can adjust new jobs immediately with less financial support than foreign workers need. Regarding the programs for foreigners that the government promotes, they totally failed. The policy of the Industrial Training and Technical Internship Program is to train unskilled foreign workers to become skilled human resources for the countries where they came from, but the reality is ... Fireworks also put us in the mood for celebrating. The effect these colorful explosives have on our environment is pollution and cancer causing chemicals where they have been lit. In 1905, Mr. H Piper filed a patent for a gasoline engine–electric motor powertrain. According to him, the electric motor would augment a gasoline engine, allowing a vehicle to accelerate from zero to 25 miles an hour in 10 seconds, much faster than the gasoline engines of that time. Ironically, when finally Mr.H Piper was granted the patent a few years later, normal engines were capable of producing the same kind of acceleration. Due to rapid advancements in the gasoline engine, the popularity of a hybrid car slowly diminished untill again in the early to mid 1970s, the time of oil crisis. Many companies poured funds to build experimental Hybrid Electric Vehicles. But as the oil became available again, the surge for HEVs died down immediately. The Europeans and Japanese researching on reducing production costs and making HEVs more salable. Companies like Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi came up with ways to reduce emissions and better the mileage. Toyota introduced the Prius in 1997 (in Japan and in 2000 in the US) which proved to be a huge success. Recent sales figures indicate that well over 300,000 units of Toyota Prius have been sold the world over justifying the concept of a clean family car.

Access to the Japanese market was made possible by adjustments to the Daitenho or "Big Store Law," described in Toys "R" Us Japan (A). Baczko perceived that there were increasing global opportunities in the toy business. In an article in 1986 for the industry trade magazine, Playthings, he noted that customers overseas had higher disposable income, were more educated, and had more free time. Moreover, these buyers were more price conscious and tended to prefer specialty retailers, factors that favored the international expansion of TRU.4 The first international store opened in 1984 in Canada. In 1986, TRU struck joint venture deals in Singapore and Hong Kong. The company next expanded to the United Kingdom in 1987, into Germany in 1988, and into France and Taiwan in 1989. By 1994, TRU had penetrated the Nordic countries and developed new franchise relationships with Top–Toy A/S, the leading Scandinavian toy retailer. The franchise division also led to the entry of TRU to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, markets which would otherwise be prohibitive because of both cultural differences and restrictive laws. TRU learned to adapt to the different competitive retail situations in each country that it entered. Different countries can have drastically different competitive environments. For example, supermarket toy sales as a percentage of all toy sales range from about 4% in the United Kingdom to 48% in France. In The Demon in the Freezer, his first nonfiction book since The Hot Zone, a #1 New York Times bestseller, Richard Preston takes us into the heart of Usamriid, the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland, once the headquarters of the U.S. biological weapons program and now the epicenter of national biodefense. Since the seventeenth century, doctors have understood that if the pustules merge into sheets across the body the victim will usually die: the virus has split the whole skin. If the victim survives, the pustules turn into scabs and fall off, leaving scars. This is known as ordinary smallpox. Some people develop extreme smallpox, which is loosely called black pox. Doctors separate black pox into two forms –– flat smallpox and hemorrhagic smallpox. In a case of flat smallpox, the skin remains smooth and doesn't pustulate, but it darkens until it looks charred, and it can slip off the body in sheets. In hemorrhagic smallpox, black, unclotted blood oozes or runs from the mouth and other body orifices. Black pox is close to a hundred per cent fatal. If any sign of it appears in the body, the victim will almost certainly die. In the bloody cases, the virus destroys the linings of the throat, the stomach, the intestines, the rectum, and the vagina, and these membranes disintegrate. Fatal smallpox can destroy the body's entire skin –– both the exterior skin and the interior skin that lines the passages of the body. Smallpox virus's scientific name is variola. It means "spotted" in Latin, and it was given to the disease by a medieval bishop. The virus, as a life form, comes in two subspecies: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most important, however, was the Rastafarian insistence that Africa was the promised land and that Jamaicans should look to Africa for their model of value rather than to Europe, which was seen as foolish and a painful reminder of slavery and oppression. Changing the Japanese Family Registry system One inevitable issue that transgendered individuals face is the complications brought by the Family Registry (Koseki in Japanese). Japanese law requires all Japanese households to report births, acknowledgement of paternity, adoptions, deaths, marriages and divorces to the local authority, which then compiles the informations into a document called Koseki. The Family Registration Law stated that the Koseki can only be correct when "mistakes" are found. (e.g. incorrect spellings, incorrect birthdays etc.). Which is the most attractive customer segment for MBC to target? Explain your reasoning. In my opinion, I think the "Little Leaguers" is the most attractive customer segment for MBC to target. First of all, due to the reason that most of the children in Japan tend to play softball and baseball, Little Leaguers has a high retention rate of 75%. This is really high compare to other customer segments. 10% of their customers become regular customers. And their core segment is really large as well. All of these above reflected the large amount of customers that Maru can gain. Second, though this segment needs two workers and one instructor, their parents are still willing to pay extra more to let their children experience and learn from the batting center, which results a ¥500 in their hourly margin. Comparing to other segments, Little Leaguers might have the lowest hourly margin, however, every customer purchased ten hours (second high among all segments) in average per year, which lead them to ¥5,000 for their annual margin. Third, the acquisition of customers with the cost of ¥10,000 isn't too large to cover up with the profit in following years. The middle school teams that Maru sponsored will receive clothes with MBC logo and phone number on the arms. And the MBC advertisement will also be shown on the league rulebooks. This is a great placement marketing that can efficiently increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Global trade has rapidly increased in both volume and value, reaching nowadays more than $4 trillion in 1997 (Daniels J.D., Radebaugh, 1998, pg. 529). Competition is fierce from all corners of the world. Failure at the global level can backfire and may consume existing brands and business relationships.
