1. Question 2:
How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
By Gemma Barrett
2. I dressed my models in trendy
fashionable clothing to appeal to a
female audience. Both my models
are dressed in leather jackets as
they are trendy at the moment.
Dressing the models in clothes the
teenagers would wear will draw the
readers in and the teenagers would
see the models as a role model and
inspiration for their fashions.
3. I used stereotypically girly colours such
as yellow, pink and purple in my
magazine. I also used bright shades of
pink, yellow and purple to appeal a
appeal to a younger audience. I used
these colours to appeal to a young
female audience.
4. I used a bold font to make my magazine look
loud and give it a chatty vibe. The bold font
used for the mast head draws in the target
audience as it is visible and can be clearly
seen. I also used the same font style for the
cover line on the contents to keep a theme
running through the magazine. In my contents I
used chatty slang and included some text
language. I also used words that teenagers
would stereotypically use like “snake” to refer
to someone who backstabbed them.
5. I kept my double page spread simplistic for it to
appeal to the older scale of my target audience. I
kept the text formal and chose a font to stand
out. I used the theme of pop art as that is quite
popular and trendy at the moment. Makeup is
also becoming more and more popular with young
teenagers so I included some this image using
interesting and complex makeup.
