Lesson Plan in English Grade 7
(60 min., Average)
I. Objectives:
 Use previous knowledge in making connections to the theme of the listening text.
 Recognize alliteration and sound devices in songs.
 Listen to distinguish sensory expressions.
 Demonstrate appreciation of the theme.
II. Subject Matter:
 Listening text: What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
 Materials: Pictures, speaker and printed materials.
III. Procedure:
A. Before Listening
Task 1: PICTURE PERFECT! (Whole class, 5 min.)
Post the following pictures on the board:
Process questions:
1. Describe the pictures.
2. What do you feel about them?
3. Do they depict a "What A Wonderful World"?
Task 2: UNLOCKING DIFFICULTY (Whole class, 5min.)
Post the following examples of alliteration on the board.
B.While Listening
Task 3: Fill Me! (Individual, 15 min.)
Distribute the worksheets. Play the song "What a Wonderful World". Ask the
students to complete the given task.
Examples:
 Carrie's cat clawed her couch, creating
chaos.
 Eric's eagle eats eggs, enjoying each
episode of eating.
Alliteration:
 Occurs when a series of words in
a row (or close together) have the
same first consonant sound.
Worksheet 1
Task 3: FILL ME! ( Individual, 15 mins. )
 Listen to the song "What a Wonderful World". Then,Write A, if the words
or lines are showing alliteration and N, if not.

2. Red roses too

6. The bright blessed day
7. So pretty in the sky
8. I see friends shaking hands.

  • 1. Navotas Polytechnic College Bangus St., NBBS, Navotas City College of Education Lesson Plan in English Grade 7 (60 min., Average) I. Objectives:  Use previous knowledge in making connections to the theme of the listening text.  Recognize alliteration and sound devices in songs.  Listen to distinguish sensory expressions.  Demonstrate appreciation of the theme. II. Subject Matter:  Listening text: What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong  Materials: Pictures, speaker and printed materials. III. Procedure: A. Before Listening Task 1: PICTURE PERFECT! (Whole class, 5 min.) Post the following pictures on the board: Process questions: 1. Describe the pictures. 2. What do you feel about them? 3. Do they depict a "What A Wonderful World"? Task 2: UNLOCKING DIFFICULTY (Whole class, 5min.) Post the following examples of alliteration on the board. B.While Listening Task 3: Fill Me! (Individual, 15 min.) Distribute the worksheets. Play the song "What a Wonderful World". Ask the students to complete the given task. Examples:  Carrie's cat clawed her couch, creating chaos.  Eric's eagle eats eggs, enjoying each episode of eating. Alliteration:  Occurs when a series of words in a row (or close together) have the same first consonant sound.
