The document discusses several technologies used in creating a product and what was learned from using each one. Prezi and Slideshare were used for presentations, with Prezi initially taking some time to learn but providing flexible presentation options. Blogger was initially difficult to publish posts on but became easier to use with experience. A Canon DSLR camera was used for videos, allowing manual control over settings to reduce shake. Survey Monkey was helpful for collecting and analyzing survey data automatically. Both Serif Movieplus and Windows Live Movie Maker were used to edit videos, but Windows Movie Maker was found to be easier to use and faster for rendering previews. Editing techniques like fading, adding titles, slowing clips and color/brightness adjustments were learned
1. What have you
learnt about
technologies
from the
process of
creating this
product?
2. Prezi/slideshare:
I learned to sue these programs
to efficiently display presentations/slide shows of
information. these both require a registration onto the
website to save presentations and locate them to edit or
publish onto my blog. at first Prezi was quite tricky to
figure out but after a while of playing around with
the program I was able to understand how to use it. the
good thing about this program is that there are so many
different ways of presenting, zoom spider diagrams, flow
charts...etc.
3. Blogger:
When We initially started this course, we had to
sign up to blogger to create
an account to upload work. At first, the whole
process of composing and publishing was
quite difficult, especially attempting to edit
the published posts; however with time i
developed an understanding of how the
website works.
4. Camera
I chose to use a Canon 1100d DSLR
camera, this camera also had 720p
quality making the quality of my videos
maintain that clear picture. the main
advantage of this camera was that I
was able to manually adjust the video
settings to suit my preference and i
could set the shutter speed to a higher
number and this decreased the shake
effect on the video clip. To achieve a
steady shot i had used either a tripod or
the strap it came with to stabilize the
camera to reduce a shake.
5. Survey Monkey
I signed up to survey monkey earlier on in
the course, I used this website
to compile information about certain
audiences. This website also was helpful
with the accumulation of data, unlike
charts and handmade diagrams, this
website calculates the statistics out for
you making the questionnaire simpler to
read and understand.
6. Serif Movieplus/Windows Live
Movie Maker:
I used both of these editing programs, i
used Serifs program to create
my institution intro and found
that the program is not
too user friendly; making editing difficul
t and lengthy. I chose to create my
opening title
sequence using Windows Movie Maker
as I found it easier to locate the
required transitions and text on screen
settings. This program would also
render videos faster to preview, during
the editing process
making altering simpler and understan
dable.
7. During editing, I had learned to
fade clips and sounds, to add
titles into the clips, to slow down
clips and to manipulate the
colour and brightness settings.
These techniques were
shown throughout my final cut
of my title sequence.
