2. During construction of the product, the
technologies I have learnt are:
Serif Movie Plus
Adobe Photoshop
Weebly
Google Forms
YouTube
Slideshare
Camera
3. Serif was the editing software that we used to help us with constructing and editing our title and
opening sequence. The software was easy to use and I was able to understand how to do
certain things like inserting text to make titles and changing the volume to make sure the audio I
used was heard by the audience. Using this software allowed me to understand how to edit
sufficiently and effectively towards my opening.
I used various transitions and sound clips in the sequence to help this fit into my chosen genre
which is horror. I achieved this by adding audio clips that fit with my genre to help build suspense
and fear. The different transitions in the software allowed me to choose the most effective and
suitable to the genre. I had used the fade tradition in my sequence to give my sequence a
smooth and slow yet ominous fade into the next scene.
I also used this software to add my titles correctly and effectively to help fit this within my genre. I
also added a fading transition to my titles which made this fit in with the genre of the sequence.

4. I have had minimum experience with Photoshop previous to the beginning of the course. I used
this programme to create my title logo and my production company logo. Photoshop was a
difficult application to use with the many shortcuts and different tools confusing me but I
eventually got the hang of certain keyboard shortcuts and the many different tools that I had to
use.
When making my production company logo and title logo, I used the tools magic eraser,
smudge and paint tool when making my titles. These tools were used to create streaked blood
and to erase the background of images for my logos.
The smudge and paint tools were hard to use as I had to find appropriate places on my title
sequence logo to place the blood which would make the logo seem fitting and more appropriate
to the horror genre.

5. We used this website to create a webpage to show the progress we made with our
work.
The website was easy to use and navigate through. There we’re some difficult things
to get used to; an example would be embedding the video straight from YouTube and
onto the website. Over time, I was able to get used to how everything worked which
made things easier to work with.
This benefitted with showing the progress that I was making and the website made it
easier to organise everything and being given feedback. This was a professional way
to work and it allowed me to show progress with work and keep various things
organised.

6. Google Forms is the website I used for my target audience analysis research in
which we used to make a questionnaire to understand our own target audiences
personal preferences and general information.
The website was very simple to use and I was able to work out how to get the
questionnaire out to people and how to create the questionnaire itself. This benefitted
me during the research as I used this to get a better look at what my target audience
wanted to see in a horror movie and what they were specifically scared of.
The results from my questionnaire I needed for my analysis was all put together in
graphs and charts which made it simpler to analyse the data.

7. YouTube is a video uploading site and I previously had some experience with how to
use this site.
From this site, I used this to upload various videos like my title and opening
sequence, preliminary task and animatic for our work.
From using this site, I have learned how to find the embed code which allowed me to
post the video onto various other platforms and get my sequence seen out there.

8. This site allowed me to embed my presentations onto my Weebly for my work such as
the actors, costumes, props and location work and the camera angles and
movements PowerPoint.
This made me able to easily post my work and so it was easy for others to navigate
through the slides to find out what I had been working on.
I had learned from this site on how to upload the PowerPoints to the site itself and
how I could embed these onto different sites.

9. The camera was used to record videos such as my preliminary task and the title and
opening sequence. The camera was used for domestic reasons like recording home
videos which was why the sequence didn’t look as professional as other videos did.
I learnt how to record and how to upload the video straight onto my system so I could
easily access the videos and edit them. The camera was a HD steadi-cam that I was
able to film my sequence on and this helped me to film all the footage to construct my
video. The camera had a screen that could move to show the screen to my actors
and this allowed me to put things correctly into frame.
It also had a feature that allowed me to preview the videos that I had recorded so I
could find out if I had to retake another shot and if something went wrong. The zoom
on the camera allowed me to zoom in on parts in the frame to create more suspense
and more detail.
