1. When designing my magazine, I tried to follow as many of the
conventions that I researched when planning my magazine. My
magazine follows many conventions that are within the same
‘dance music’ genre. I used many different magazines such as
MixMag and Raveline. I tried to use their techniques and styles
and layouts of their magazines but I did not directly copy them. I
took their idea and changed it slightly to make it my own
creation. The audience I am trying to target are the ‘ravers’ and
people who listen to drum and bass. I think I have managed that
very well because I have used well known drum and bass DJs and
lyrical MCs that are ‘crowd favourites’. As I am someone who
listens to drum and bass I have a good idea of what many other
people would want to be seeing/reading in a drum and bass
magazine, giving me a good base to start from in terms of what
content should be within the magazine. Of course, not everyone
will like the same drum and bass artists as me but as a general
overview I think I have used the best people to promote the
magazine.
