 Zomato.com a restaurant rating site which was started 4 years ago.
 Zomato.com was primarily started for rating the Restaurants in Delhi
India but now it has expanded its operations to many other countries.
 This site also includes social features which creates an engaging user
experience . This make it easy for users to connect , share and consume
social information.
 Zomato .com generates 90 % of its revenue from advertisements.
 Zomato.com makes $ 13,196,520 profit per year.
 Fill the gap in the market:
There was no site doing this for Delhi Noida region in India even though there
was website which was doing reviews on the local level in Mumbai India. Easy UI
coupled with need in the market helped the website to get enough users in the
beginning.
 Content platform:
Zomato’s success in the Indian Market was the product of their content platform.
Very good data base of local restaurants coupled with an operation that updates
40,000+ menus in 12 cities every three months was the key to success. Intensive
research was done to make sure that each and every restaurant is posted on the site
for the reviewers to review. Hard work done on the field was key to generation of
good and up to date data base of the restaurants.
 Good rating mechanism and social platform: to share experience:
Zomato launched social platform to bring together the foodie community and
improved the UI of the website to get users to the relevant information accurately
and efficiently. Live blogs of people are posted on the site .This make people feel
that their views are being taken into account and their name is being popularized.
Therefore people are very enthusiastic to participate in the process. To provide an
engaging user experience they have baked Facebook deeply into their application.
Sharing experience with friends provides an excellent story for users Facebook
Timeline.
 Analytics to correlate reviews with the increase in revenue:
This is very promising feature for getting the right pitch to potential
advertisers which are the major source of revenue.
 Fast paced new features release:
Sheer pace at which Zomato develop and release features was
amazing. It took them just over 2 weeks to enable social features on Zomato.

  • 2.  Zomato.com a restaurant rating site which was started 4 years ago.  Zomato.com was primarily started for rating the Restaurants in Delhi India but now it has expanded its operations to many other countries.  This site also includes social features which creates an engaging user experience . This make it easy for users to connect , share and consume social information.  Zomato .com generates 90 % of its revenue from advertisements.  Zomato.com makes $ 13,196,520 profit per year.

  • 4.  Fill the gap in the market: There was no site doing this for Delhi Noida region in India even though there was website which was doing reviews on the local level in Mumbai India. Easy UI coupled with need in the market helped the website to get enough users in the beginning.  Content platform: Zomato’s success in the Indian Market was the product of their content platform. Very good data base of local restaurants coupled with an operation that updates 40,000+ menus in 12 cities every three months was the key to success. Intensive research was done to make sure that each and every restaurant is posted on the site for the reviewers to review. Hard work done on the field was key to generation of good and up to date data base of the restaurants.  Good rating mechanism and social platform: to share experience: Zomato launched social platform to bring together the foodie community and improved the UI of the website to get users to the relevant information accurately and efficiently. Live blogs of people are posted on the site .This make people feel that their views are being taken into account and their name is being popularized. Therefore people are very enthusiastic to participate in the process. To provide an engaging user experience they have baked Facebook deeply into their application. Sharing experience with friends provides an excellent story for users Facebook Timeline.
  • 5.  Analytics to correlate reviews with the increase in revenue: This is very promising feature for getting the right pitch to potential advertisers which are the major source of revenue.  Fast paced new features release: Sheer pace at which Zomato develop and release features was amazing. It took them just over 2 weeks to enable social features on Zomato.
