CEO:
The CEO is in charge of everything in the wholebusiness and oversees
everything that happens. They also make all the final decisions.
Vice president:
The vice presidentis one rank down from the CEO, they are second down and
essentially a deputy.
Accounting:
Accounting will deal with all the money and fanatical aspects of the business.
Legal:
The people in legal will keep tabs on everything to do with the law and also
make surethat noneof their clients’ music is copywrited or someone else has
copied.
A&R:
Artists and repertoire (A&R) is the division of a record label or music publishing
company that is responsiblefor talent scouting and overseeing the artistic
development of recording artists and songwriters.
Artist Development:
The department dedicated to cultivating an artist or group’s talent, and
profiting fromthe results through a contractthat has come to be known as the
“360 Deal.” Modern artistdevelopment, however, is different. What used to
be done by entire departments, has become the responsibility of the artist.
Marketing:
The marketing team are in chargeof marketing their company and getting
word out so people wantto sign with it.
