Publicity/promotions: Thisgroupisresponsible forgettingthe wordoutabouta new or established
artist.It arrangesfor articlestobe writteninnewspapersandmagazines.Theyalsodeal withradio
and televisioncoverage of anartist.Many artistsalso have theirownindependentpublicistswho
helpcoordinate publicitywiththisdepartmentaswell.
Sales:Thisdepartmentoverseesthe retailaspectof the recordbusiness.Itworkswiththe record
store chainsand othermusicstoresto getnew albumsonto retailers'shelves.The salesdepartment
