Managing Operating Exposure and FX Risk at Nissan
Title: Managing operating exposure and FX risk at Nissan In order for Nissan to perform better, Ghosn identified that the company had to drastically
change the way it does business. The automotive industry is a large capital consumer and thus the first step that was necessary was to reduce the cost
of doing business. Ghosn decided that the company should reduce the cost incurred in purchasing by 20%, decrease company capacity by 30%, close
five of their plants, and to reduce the number of workers by 20,000 through layoffs and attrition (Book Review, 2005). This was a crucial step in
improving the company's financial performance but was met with resistance from suppliers and the country at large since the external environment was
more concerned with status quo rather than sound financial performance. Nissan had one thousand three hundred subsidiaries and thus was incurring
large amount of cost to run the business. By reducing capacity and closing plants Ghosn wanted to reduce cost incurred to operate and maintain
numerous plants. In order to reduce global financial risk Ghosn put a system in place to reduce debts incurred by the company. He put measures in
place to analyze company financial performance and developed strategies to reduce debts. In the first quarter of 2001 the company's initial debt of one
thousand four hundred billion yens had been reduced to half. To improve financial performance a company must have productive resources. Previously

Use Of Automatic Mode Of A Dslr ( Digital Single Lens...
Introduction
Imagine yourself standing on one of the seven wonders in the world. Surrounded by the symbolic scenery you wish to seal up the beauty forever, but
you're struggling due to a lack of knowledge of how to function a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera. This user guide will teach you how to use
a DSLR camera from the fundamentals, along with in–depth knowledge of the profession functions using the three most important pillars in
photography; Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO.
Automatic Mode
1.1 What is Automatic Mode
Automatic mode is when the camera self–selects the most appropriate settings for the chosen situation. It determines for you all of the functions such
as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance (WB), etc. All that is required for you to do then is point and shoot. [1]
1.2 How to Access and Operate Automatic Mode
1.Turn on your camera
2.Twist the mode dial until the green symbol 'auto' lines up with the white marker and your LCD screen displays the correct mode. (Figure 1,2)
3.Select a target and press the shutter button to capture.
Programme Mode
2.1 What is Programme Mode
Above we have discussed about the most basic mode–auto mode. Programme mode is one step more complicated than auto mode. It also self–selects
the shutter speed, aperture, WB and etc for a given situation but the ISO is able to be manually manipulated.
2.2 How to Access and Operate Programme mode
1.With your camera turned on, twist the mode dial so that the

EMDR Weaknesses
Weaknesses and Downsides to EMDR EMDR has weaknesses and debated for being controversial due to it being difficult to support the signature
aspect of the therapy, namely alternating eye movements as actually necessary to the treatment (McLay et al., 2016, p. 702). Eye movements and
cognitive reprocessing which are deemed by EMDR as essential failed to make a unique contribution to the outcome of therapy (Rubin, 2002, p. 14).
According to the Prochaska & Norcross, "The eye movements are only one form of bilateral stimulation and may not be required for the therapeutic
effect" (2014, p. 211). Hand taps and repetition of auditory cues are other alternate stimuli which can be used instead of eye movements. Early
claims were made about EMDR having almost magical results that only one session of EMDR could provide treatment for clients (McLay et al., 2016,
p. 702; Prochaska & Norcross, 2014, p. 210). Furthermore, EMDR could be viewed as a simple variant of exposure therapy with a gimmick in
marketing the therapy as something new (Rubin, 2002, p. 12). According to Perkins & Rouanzoin (2002), "EMDR is best explained by learning
processes that subsume exposure and cognitive–behavioral treatments" (p. 80). EMDR has not been proven effective outside of PSTD. Prochaska &
Norcross explains that EMDR has not been studied thoroughly with other behavioral disorder beyond PTSD and insufficient data makes it difficult to
determine its effectiveness in other domains (2014, p. 211).

Social Stereotypes In Zootopia
Quote: "Because he's a sloth he can't be fast"
This quote is a great example of a stereotype. Judy made an incorrect statement about a sloth just because of what type of animal he was. This statement
was later proven not true, as the sloth was speeding throughout the streets of Zootopia.
Concepts
Stereotypes: Generalized (sometimes accurate but often overgeneralized) beliefs about a group of people. Throughout the movie, there are a lot of
stereotypes evident. The main one is that predators are bad, and prey is good. Many believed in the movie that the predators could not be trusted after
all the attacks that were happening, but that was not true. The rare cases of a predator going savage was due to toxic flowers.
Discrimination: Unjustifiable negative behavior toward a group or its members. In Zootopia, an act of discrimination is seen in a flashback when Nick
Wilde is joining the Ranger Scouts. In this scene, the members of the scouts put a muzzle on him just because he is a fox and "They cannot trust a fox".
Situational Attribution: Believing the cause of a behavior is based on the person's situation, not their attitude. An example of this in the movie was
when Judy found out the reason for predators going savage was due to the flowers, not due to their attitudes or genetics.
Dispositional Attribution: Believing that the cause of a behavior is based on the person's attitude, not situation. In the scene where Nick Wilde was
trying to buy a popsicle for his "son", Judy assumed that he was a great father. However, he was just trying to hustle her out of a free popsicle to sell
later.
Conformity: Adjusting one's behavior or thinking to coincide with a group standard. In the movie, when Judy said that she though that the predator's
attacks were due to genetics, everyone conformed to this idea. The prey started to separate themselves from the prey and conform to this idea.
Normative Social Influence: Influence resulting from a person's desire to gain approval or disapproval. In the movie, Judy Hopps works extra hard
while on parking duty to get approval from Chief Bogo and get more interesting cases.
Deindividuation: The loss of self–awareness and self–restraint occurring in group situations that foster

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ( Ocd ) And All The...
The story is an intriguing tale that I would argue explicates and profoundly depicts the different dynamics associated with the Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder (OCD) and all the corresponding tendencies that exacerbate the anxiety. The main character, Mr. Melvin Udall's behavior and actions speaks
volume about the debilitating effects of the disorder. He seems to constantly have unwanted and intrusive thoughts that can't seems to get out of head,
making him obsessed with it, Example the constant irrational worry about dirt at home, in the restaurant, on the streets so as to not come in contact
with germ, virus or disease, and excessive concerns with order, arrangement, or symmetry, as well as Feeling overly responsible for the safety of others
a distasteful religious and sexual thoughts or images. The anxiety that is developed as a result of the above tendencies that compels him throughout to
repeatedly perform ritualistic behaviors and arrangements, such as cleaning, repeatedly washing of his hands and one occasion bathing for hours, while
Helen, the waitress waited for him to go a date, clearing demonstrating the compulsion that is too often difficult to control, even though it appears
irrational. It must be said that this compulsive aspect of the symptoms tend to help him mitigate or ease the anxiety that persist. So in a narrow sense the
compulsive behavior serves as a positive remedy or coping strategy, but generally it is irrational

The Age Of Light Art: Light Graffiti
Light Graffiti
Light is simply a name for a range of electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human eye. Light travels at the speed of light, 299,792,458
meters per second or 186,282 miles per second. With the existence of light today, we can use it in many ways such as tolight the darkness on the road
or the simplest function of light at home. Not only that, light can also be used beautifully and creatively in art. One of the influential arts that used the
combination of the light is Light Graffiti. In the beginning, the first Light Painting was photographed in 1949 by the great Pablo Picasso when he was
experimenting with the light. Picasso stood in front of the camera, armed with a flashlight, and traced his style of imagery in the air before the shutter
slammed shut. As a result, an illuminating set of photos was captured showing the result of his artwork which is a wild set of his self–portraits. ... Show

generation of Light Graffiti, we have various kinds of artists that are devoted to this kind of art. Among the artists that contribute to this art are the
famous and talented Lichtfactor, Michael Bosanko, and Toby Keller. There are many others also many kinds of style of Light Graffiti like for example

The Effect Of Photography On Forensic Science
Photography in forensic science is arguably an important factor to the forensic science world especially when is used in court situations to carry out
justice in court. Photography helps to aid investigations & provides the court room & investigators with photos of victims, places and items in detail
involved in the crime.
The basics of photography is understanding how a camera works, a standard camera has very basic components these are –
A viewfinder
A focusing mechanism
A shutter
An aperture
A lens
The light–proof camera body
Finally a variety of buttons/devices to control the settings
So the basics of how a camera works are as follows as the light enters the camera this will be through the lens aperture. It is then reflected & the image
is recorded on to a light–sensitive film that is loaded within the camera. When looking at the individual components of the camera firstly is the lens
this is a curved piece of glass of which the light passes through to allow the light to enter the camera then this is redirected to finally this comes
together in order to form an image. The aperture is located between the rear and front lens; the aperture refers to the size of the lens' opening this
basically controls the amount of light that enters the camera, sometimes the aperture can be known as the f–stop or f–number. The largest aperture is –
F–2 & the smallest is F–22.
The shutter is the object that is covering the lens, and this is the feature that controls the

Social Media Child Development
I'm sure all have heard the aged African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." The upbringing of a youth is a very imperative time. What is
learned during the development stages of life is stored in the brain for future experiences, so that they know which decisions to make. Parents, alone,
have wisdom that can be shared with their children, but different interactions within a community have a huge effect on the outcome of a child's overall
development. In today's society, family bonds are not as strong as they once were. We, as a nation have moved further and further into technological
advancement, and that is where most of out leisure time is directed towards. The "village" around a child is whatever he/she is exposed to on a
regular basis; and, being that social media has become more and more popular around the world, it is believed that it, in itself, is that very "village".
Most children today are able to access social media in a matter of seconds through the technologies of smart phones, ... Show more content on

of her family; and even the concept of family was incomplete. She did not have her father. For a while, no one in her community stepped in to even
act as a father figure for her, which had negative effects on the growth of little Pearl. She would've had a more joyful, normal childhood (and adulthood)

Analysis Of Exposure By Wilfred Owen
Exposure by Wilfred Owen
1.In the second stanza Wilfred Owens describes sounds of 'mad gusts tugging on wire' this emphasises the force and sounds of the wind. All the
soldiers can hear around them is the sound of guns in the distance. The word "incessantly" means constantly for the men the gunfire seems
never–ending. 'the flickering gunnery rumbles' has a rhythm, and may echo the distant, continuous sound the men can hear. The words 'gunnery' and
'rumbles' is the use of onamonapia the author is giving the gun human like qualities.
2.The second stanza makes it clear that the soldiers feel remote and unearthed by the gunnery in the north. "watching" and "hear" juxtaposition is used
here giving a contrasting effect emphasising the soldiers confusion reinforcing the sense of "remote and unearthed". "mad gusts tugging on the wire"
this reinforces the remoteness as if they were in the middle of nowhere. "Northward, incessantly, the flickering gunnery rumbles" the gun fire is coming
from the north "incessantly" means never–ending for the men the bullets seem like they are coming from every angle reinforcing the notion of
remoteness and being unearthed.
3."what are we doing here?" this completes the second stanza. The author uses this line to reinforce the horrible conditions. The men are asking
themselves what they are doing here, why would they be stupid enough to come here just to get sent to almost certain death.
4.The poet gives us a picture of a miserable dawn. The

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Digital Photography
In a world where everything is digital and photographs are normally taken with the digital cameras, but there are number of photographers who are still
shooting with film or there are some who are newly interested in film formats.
Below are some pros and cons that I have discussed to evaluate the difference between Film and Digital photography, respectively.
ADVANTAGES OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
1. You'll never have to pay for film or processing again
2. You don't have to wait to see the captured shot, you can view the shot immediately after taking the photograph.
3. You can easily choose the images you want to print and the images can be easily be deleted that you don't like.
4. You can record video with the digital cameras.
5. You can easily store the images.
6. You can continuously shoot with digitalcamera as you don't have to worry about the film.
7. You can delete the shot immediately after capturing the photo that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With an ability to shoot thousands of photos without the expensive need for film, and you can press the preview button anytime to make sure the
desired shot was taken, and there is no need to spend hours in processing film, scanning, or printing in a darkroom. And you can that If you are not
patient and want instant satisfaction, film photography is not for you. But if you love the anticipation of developing a roll of film to see the results,
watching a photograph develop on paper in front of your eyes, and the satisfaction of knowing what you created without the simplistic and robotic
motions of a computer, then film photography is perfect for you. It is not like that you are a better photographer if you shoot with digital camera or film,
in the end the only thing matters is the ability of the person behind the camera to capture the image. So we can say that the it only depends on the
person whether he wants to use digital camera or film

How Ehrhart Was Viewed as a Student Essay examples
In the fall of 1969, Ehrhart attended Swarthmore College at the age of twenty–one. Also during this time the student body of Swarthmore College
"were middle class, academically paranoid, politically aware, and the students were antiwar" (Ehrhart 7). This proposed a problem for Ehrhart
because during the spring of 1968, while Ehrhart was still over seas, the college had asked for a picture of him in his Marine uniform. Ehrhart
realized that after he sent the photo, it would be used for the school's Freshman booklet while all the commotion in school existed. He spent most of
his days alone to avoid publicity and to keep a "low profile". By October, however, the reporter for the campus newspaper Phoenix asked if he could

One might question why Ehrhart would even would agree to put his story in the school newspaper when his objective was to live a normal life and
remain anonymous from the student body. Ehrhart mentions that "Vietnam veterans weren't exactly the most popular kids on the block" (Ehrhart 7).
That statement contradicts Ehrhart because he is a celebrity and he planned to live a normal life in college. In fact, Ehrhart wanted to live such a
normal life that he wasn't worried about the Freshman photo of him in the Marine uniform because Ehrhart's appearance was different the first day
of college. Ehrhart said, "fortunately, I didn't look like that anymore, so a lot of people hadn't yet figured out who this guy Ehrhart was" (Ehrhart 7).
Ehrhart clearly wanted to start a new chapter in his life. As a human being and a scholar, Ehrhart has a right to attend college and live a normal life as
he intended to do. The fact that Ehrhart had to really stress over his celebrity is ridiculous. The war played a huge part of Ehrhart's wanting to remain
anonymous during his time in school because he just wanted to erase the past and focus on the present. In fact, Ehrhart mentions some of the trauma
that he went through and in his newspaper article it says that nothing else seems as hard as the war. Ehrhart read his section in the paper which stated,

Human Exposure And The Risk Of Cardiovascular Disease...
With regards to the health effects of PM2.5, epidemiological and clinical studies suggest a strong association between human exposure to PM2.5 and
the risk of cardiovascular disease development. These studies have shown that exposure to PM2.5 from ambient air pollution and/or tobacco smoking
is linked to a number of cardiovascular conditions including hypertension126, coronary artery disease127, myocardial infarction128, 129,
atherosclerosis126, and arrhythmia130. To this end, short term exposure (< 24 hours) to PM2.5 is associated with 0.4% to 1% increase in the
relative risk of daily cardiovascular mortality131, whereas long term exposure posed a higher relative risk131, 132 . Interestingly, the risk of
atherosclerosis as measured by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, deposition of PM2.5 on alveoli was found to trigger an inflammatory response and oxidative stress, accompanied with the release of a host of
pro–inflammatory mediators, vasoactive molecules and reactive oxygen species into the circulation. These will subsequently affect the vascular
integrity and induce thrombogenesis138, 140. Also, it has been proposed that PM2.5 can modulate the autonomic nervous system and result in
increased vasoconstriction and change heart rate variability, which will potentially enhance the risk of developing arrhythmias and thrombosis141.
Importantly, it has been found that the dose–response relationship between particulate matter exposure and cardiovascular mortality is also
non–linear142. In fact, the observed dose–response curve was steep at low levels, suggesting that a consequential adverse cardiovascular outcome can
happen as a result of exposure to low levels142. Interestingly, a study suggested that PM2.5 is responsible for more than 90% of the predicted harm
caused by thirdhand smoke pollutants143. In summary, clearly, there is substantial evidence in the literature that PM2.5 from ambient air pollution and
smoking exerts harmful effects on the cardiovascular system. However, whether e–cigarettes PM2.5 produces similar effects is not known yet, but
warrants investigation. This notion is

Privacy Is One Of The Problems Of Media Privacy
Now a day, privacy is one of the problems of media ethics in our life. The Longman dictionary defines privacy as the state of being able to be alone,
not seen or heard by other people, and free from public attention. We may recognize that it is simple to keep privacy; nonetheless, journalists and people
don't keep it even through they know that it is important.
Furthermore, the tendency that it will be fine even if you do not keep privacy is getting stronger year by year. One of the reasons is because
technology is developing rapidly in the world. This evidence is that a lot of people bring with them their smart phones and computers to the evidence
of this. Stefano Taddei said, "The results suggest practical implications for online social network providers, most of all with regard to privacy policies
in online environments" (2013). In the future, the providers will develop and affect us positive and negative through using technology.
I believe that privacy is most important for the future because privacy is the origin of the media ethics, which is about indecency, control, and
truthfulness. I think that privacy is a problem of particular importance concerning human's virtue in this time.
First, the problem is indecency. Some argue that indecency in media encourages people to mimic the behavior they see in the news stories from
sensational movies. They are prevalent to even children recently; moreover, these influences will remain strong even when the children became

Accuracy Of Eyewitness Testimony
Introduction
Eyewitness testimony has been used as an important tool in the criminal justice system. When there is lack of other kinds of evidence, police often rely
on eyewitness to find potential suspects. In court, eyewitness testimony is a kind of important evidence associates with DNA or other types of
evidence. However, many psychologists think that it should not be used in the criminal justice system as most of the wrongful convictions were caused
by inaccurate eyewitness testimony.
Although eyewitness testimony is not always accurate, the criminal justice system can evaluate the accuracy through some factors and make it a more
useful tool. Three main factors will be discussed in this essay, which are confidence of eyewitness,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The accuracy rate was high, and the other two groups showed similar results. In the self–rate interview group, 96% and 98% in the interviewer–rate
interview group. The result confirms that the witness's confidence can be used to infer accuracy. And interviewer may increase their confidence. While
interviewing by person, participants might think that they were considered a good eyewitness and good eyewitness supposed to give the right details.
Therefore, they have more confidence in themselves and are more likely to do better than completing the task on papers. Another study was conduct by
Short and Dalby (2007) to support this theory. 106 participants completed the study by watching a videotape and identifying the suspect in the photo
line–up. The video showed a man stealing a lady's purse in a hair salon. At the end, they rated their confidence from 1–7 (low–high). In this study, only
32% of the participants correctly identified the culprit. These participants had an average of 5.3 when they rated the confidence level, while
participants who made inaccurate identification only had an average of 4.9. That means participants who gave the correct answers had high confidence
in themselves. When evaluating the accuracy of eyewitness testimony, eyewitness's confidence can be considered in court, accompany with the other
two important factors which will be discussed later.

Evidence–based research suggests trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy (TB–CBT) is a particularly effective model to use with individuals who
has experienced childhood trauma. TB–CBT is evidence–based; it is a treatment model that was designed to assist children, adolescents, and their
families to overcome the damaging effects of traumatic experiences. Eye movement and desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), is another

This treatment modality has proven effective with reducing symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, depression, sexual behaviors problems, and shame in

developmental levels (Simonich et al., 2015). When aftercare follow–up was conducted there is supported evidence that participants continue to thrive
6 months, one year, and two years post–treatment (Murray et al., 2013). CF–CBT is has three phases: stabilization, trauma narrative and integration.
When treatment is implemented, the individual is gradually exposed to the following sections in order to benefit from using the learned skills when
trauma reminders or cues occur (Fitzgerald & Cohen, 2012). The therapy is made up of 9 modules and uses the acronym PRACTICE, with an
additional GE: Gradual Exposure included in all the treatment sections, which is detailed as follows: 1) psycho–education and parenting skills, provide
education trauma reminders and usual responses to trauma, normalize the child's and parent's response and hope for recovery. 2) Relaxation
techniques, with a focus on deep breathing, muscle relaxing and teaching the individual to control their thoughts, and mindfulness; 3) affective
expression and regulation, teaching the individual and parent to control emotions, reminders and self–soothe, problem solving and social support.

Social Media Reflection
As I created my media campaign, I focused on three concepts from social cognition: cognitive dissonance, object appraisal function, and message
effect. I was not only interested in how my audience would perceive my message, but also, in how my own perceptions shape my actions and beliefs in
relationship to environmentally friendly behaviors. Initially, I thought about my childhood and growing up and the messages about the environment my
own parents taught me. Because I grew up on a farm, we were consumed with wasting as little as possible so that our family business would continue
to flourish and support us.
I decided to focus my media campaign project on the issue of household food waste. According the Environmental Protection Agency, the average
American throws out 20 pounds of food per month and spends $2,200 on wasted food. This information helped confirm that I wanted to do my project
on food waste.
Growing up we had lots of chickens and we fed food scraps to them. With the resurgence of interest in chickens I thought that would be a good topic.
But when I started designing and planning material my idea just would not gel. I realized that part of the reason I was struggling is that I no longer
have chickens and because of that it was hard for me to make a persuasive case for others to keep chickens. Also, I do not think that my intended
audience would be able to have their own chickens. Consequently, I decided to discuss something that was practical and could be

Business Personal Liability Exposure Risk
Introduction
The running and operation of businesses poses the risks of loss and liability in the case of tort negligence or breach of contract. However, the
business legal structure of a given organization greatly determines the risk of exposure to personal liability (Bevans, 2006). The paper investigates
and compares the risk of exposure to personal liability in five business entities and explores how the risk can be mitigated. Business personal liability
risk is classified as limited and unlimited. In unlimited liability, the personal assets in addition to business assets can be seized (Hillman &
Loewenstein, 2015). Limited liability as seen in limited partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies significantly reduce the risk of
exposure to personal liability. Opening a limited partnership in addition to taking insurance to protect the business offers the best chance of averting the
risk for personal liability risk (Schich, 2009).

Risks Or Loss Exposures
For each of the following risks or loss exposures, identify an appropriate risk management technique that could have been used to deal with the
exposure. Explain your answer.
a. Physical damage to the 2000 Ford because of a collision with another motorist. answer: The car in this case has an old model and it has a limited
value in the market, so collision insurance should not be purchased.
b. Liability lawsuit against Michael arising out of the negligent operation of his car liability insurance. answer: In this case the exposure has high
potential for causing a catastrophic loss, so in this case automobile liability insurance should be purchased.

How Does Mere Exposure Influence Affective Responses
Eddie Harmon–Jones and John J. B. Allen (2001) designed a study that focused on the mere exposure effect, which states that more exposure to a
stimulus results in a positive affect toward that stimulus. Numerous studies have been conducted based on cognitive responses, but this study focused
on the affective responses. The main purpose of the study was to accept or reject (test) the hypothesis that mere exposure influences affective responses
using other measures than a cognitive response, such as self–report. They would test this by measuring facial electromyographic or EMG responses to
the stimuli, thus measuring emotional responses. They also had three other hypothesis' that dealt with the main hypothesis but were more specific.
They alos hypothesized that familiar stimuli would stimulate a larger zygomatic (cheek) muscle region activity and/or smaller corrugator (brow)
muscle region activity compared to novel stimuli and that motivational responses would be affected by familiarity when evaluating frontal cortical
activity. The second purpose of the study was to determine if individual differeces in affective traits influence the reactions of mere exposure to stimuli.

Explain The Risks Of Artificial Tanning Or Prolonged...
Riley Hill
Ms. Herring
7th Grade ELA
11/10/17
What are the risks of artificial tanning or prolonged exposure to the sun?
Tanning is when a person is really pale but when the sun rays hit your skin your skin becomes browner. You tan in the summer because that is when the
sun is out. Spray tanning is the form of self–tanning. A liquid mist is sprayed onto your body. The mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone
that interacts with your skin's chemistry to turn it tan or brown. Spray tans are more healthy than tanning in the sun, but they are both still bad for you.
Spray tans and Suntans are two different things. Spray tans are less dangerous than tanning in the sun. When you get a spray tan the only thing that
can happen to you is that you might get an allergic reaction. When you tan in the sun there are greater risks of skin and eye damage. Sun tanning can
give you skin cancer, Wrinkles, eye damage, and painful sunburns. Tanning beds are also really dangerous if you don't put on glasses or goggles then
you could go blind.
When you do spray tans you can have an allergic reaction but, with sun tanning the consequences are much larger. Skin cell damage from sun tanning
at the molecular level causes the development of molecules which destroys collagen, which makes the skin firm and youthful, causing premature aging
of the skin. Sun's rays can cause these things to the eyes, tearing, Pain, and Swollen eyelids, A feeling of sand in the eye Hazy, or decreased vision.

you. That is why spray tans are more healthy than tanning in the sun, but they are both still bad for

The Risk Associated With Currency Exposure
Dear Senior Management:
Our team has written this briefing note in order to inform you of the risks associated with fluctuations in exchange rates and how that risk relates to our
organization; Coca–Cola Enterprises Inc. (CCE).
Serving customers for the last 128 years, our products are now available in more than 200 countries around the world. As our global presence
continues to grow, so too does our exposure to fluctuations in currencies other than our base currency, the US dollar. Worldwide, we own assets and
owe liabilities, earn revenues and pay expenses in 71 foreign currencies . As such, it is now more important than ever to ensure a complete
understanding of the many nominal exchange rates that impact our financial reporting.
In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Economic differences such as national income, money growth, inflation and trade balances between countries inhibit accurate currency valuation,
causing unexpected fluctuations and volatility in exchange rates. As we at CCE are based out of the United States of America, with operations across
200 countries, this volatility poses two major risks, transactional and accounting risk.
The first is transactional risk, which is defined as transactions that lose value due to unfavorable fluctuations of the exchange rate resulting in potential
losses for CCE. Our expenses and revenues are not always incurred in the same currencies. We have predetermined profit margin thresholds, and those
margins can erode rapidly when the currency we incur our expenses appreciates, or the currency in which we earn our revenue depreciates.
Next, we are concerned about accounting risk. At each reporting period end we must translate all of our balance sheet items to our reporting
currency (USD). This means that if we hold assets in a foreign denominated currency and it depreciates relative to the USD, it will result in a write
down of our balance sheet assets. This can be particularly harmful in the face of loan covenants, and potentially drive up our borrowing costs. This
can also result in a decrease of our net income and drive down our share price.

Health Care Workers Risk Exposure Infectious Diseases
Every day while caring for patients, health care workers risk exposure to infectious diseases, especially bloodborne viruses due to accidental punctures
with needlesticks and sharps. Preventable injuries caused by percutaneous puncture wounds with sharp objects contaminated with bloodborne
pathogens are all too common in the hospital environment. Many healthcare workers simply accept these risks as part of their job (Wilburn, S.,
2004). Needlestick and sharp injuries (NSIs) present major potential problems for hospital workers who come into regular contact with needles,
workers such as nursing staff, lab workers, physicians, and housekeepers who work where sharps are typically present. Misapplication of needles,
scalpels, lancets, broken glass, or other medical instruments only heighten this risk. Exposed individuals are at serious risk of contracting infectious
diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which are transmitted through blood pathogens from
contaminated needles or sharp devices (Cho, E. & others, 2013). The advent of OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and other revisions that called
for advances in sharps technology, and the research utilized by peer reviewed literature identified new procedural requirements for health care workers,
providing helpful elaboratory additions to exposure control plans meant to reduce worker exposure from hazards associated with bloodborne pathogens.

The Effects Of Exposure Therapy On Children
Why You Still Don 't Have a Girlfriend
"If I were to boil it down, the biggest mistake is that they tend to think of themselves as unworthy of any girl." –Tynan
You don 't see yourself worthy of having a girlfriend.
That is why you still won 't make the first move.
That is why you continue to live in your own little bubble.
You need to get out of your head and start playing the game called life.
In other words, stop seeing yourself as special or different, but also don 't see yourself as any less than anyone else.
And, yes, being yourself is all you need, but being yourself, as you know, is easier said than done.
So how can you see yourself as worthy of a girlfriend?
Exposure Therapy
Exposure therapy does work. You 'll see in time that women do respond to you and that you are worthy of their time. But...you can 't get exposure
therapy in your mom 's basement.
And, remember, exposure therapy has to be consistent to work.
As I keep saying, a job where you have to interact with different people all the time is probably your best bet (retail, sales, etc.). It forces consistence.
Just make sure it 's with a culture that wants to get to know you.
But exposure therapy goes both ways. If you don 't approach, then your brain rewires itself to not approach in those situations. And if you spend each
weekend alone in your room instead of going out, your brain prunes away the socializing neurons you aren 't using.
That 's why doing exposure therapy completely alone isn 't

The Ideal Method For Feeding Babies
Proven as the ideal method for feeding babies, nationwide 76% of new moms choose to breastfeed and forgo formula feeding, but by three months
post–partum that percentage has dropped drastically (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and
Obesity 4). While breastfeeding is proven to reduce the risk of diarrhea, pneumonia, obesity, type–II diabetes, and improve results on intelligence tests
(World Health Organization) many new moms abandon their goals of feeding babies for the recommended 2 years (World Health Organization)
because of the discrimination received while nursing in public. Being viewed as a life choice, not a health choice, the general public ostracizes and
alienates these women, arguing that modesty is more important than a baby's right to eat. In 2012, a study performed by Lansinoh Breastfeeding found
that while "79% of moms know that breastfeeding is the best choice for a healthy baby" (Lansinoh Laboratories Inc., fig. 1), an unbelievable 40% say
their biggest fear pertaining to breastfeeding is nursing in public (Lansinoh Laboratories Inc.). Pleading that nursing a baby is natural, multitudes of
comments counter that argument, saying defecation, urination, and even sexual intercourse is natural as well, but they aren't doing it in public. These
types of comments are disadvantageous to breastfeeding success rates and are regulating women to restrooms, changing rooms, hot vehicles, and even

Exposure and Risk of the Treasurer of a Multi-National...
The main objective of the paper is to analyze the recognition, measurement, and management of exposure and risk of the treasurer of a multi–national
company. However, this paper will also explain the primary role of treasurer of a MNC. Furthermore, this paper will include all theories that are
related to risk management and treasury.
Discussion
The entire discussion is based on treasurer therefore; the main thing is what actually treasurer is? A treasurer is assumed as a person, who is liable for
running treasury of an organization. However, treasury managers in most of MNC basically experiences massive challenges with managing
transactions that comes across numerous locations and time zones at the time of working with many other banks. For that reason, the execution of new
designed risk management will confront the specification that offers advance, which makes recognition criteria forr the size of the project (Besley and
Brigham, 2011). Position of treasury management with time–axis Source: (Polak and Klusacek, 2010) It has been observed that multinational
companies are considered as different from other corporations since they are assumed as more diversified in nature as it is more complicated in
nature. For that reason, the roles of treasurer of MNC are changed from various other domestic companies specifically the main aspect of risk
management. However, there are some other risks that are faced by different organizations like natural or manmade disasters. Thus,

Persuasive Essay On Police Brutality
The policing of queer people, largely those who are trans or involved in sex work, is a nasty blemish on the face of modern American society.
However, the censorship of "non–normative" sexualities and genders has been occurring in one form or another for countless generations. Many
mistakenly believe progress in terms of LGBT+ rights and public perception of sexuality to be linear, with a definitive end point. This could not be
farther from the truth, as Joey L. Mogul highlights in his book Queer (In)Justice. Far from rare, the police's role in the day to day lives of queer people
is often one of suppression, restriction, and violence rather than protecting and serving. Police frequently cross societal and professional boundaries,
operating as a state–sponsored tool of morality enforcement, picking and choosing which laws they will implement on a purely arbitrary basis.
Although we may seem far removed from the days of Stonewall, Compton Cafeteria, and the assassination of Harvey Milk, the police continue to be
oppressive and inhumane in their treatment of those who do not fit the heteronormative and/or gender binary. As with many issues in the LGBT+
movement, this debate is often centered around cis white men, although the majority of those in the crosshairs of police brutality continue to be people
of color, most often trans and genderqueer. Beginning in 2004 in Massachusetts, and ending with nationwide legalization of same–sex marriage in
2015, the LGBT+ movement was

Essay about Rocky Shore Investigation
Rocky Shore Investigation
Null Hypothesis:
There is no pattern to the distribution of organisms over a rocky shore.
Variables:
Factors that affect the distribution of organisms over an area of shoreline are:
В· The depth of water which may cover an organism at high tide.
В· How resistant an organism in the littoral zone is to dessication.
В· How efficiently an organism can conserve water.
В· The proximity and availability of nutrition.
Stations ========
I think that stations 1 – 4 are in the sub–littoral zone of the rocky shore.
Stations 5 – 12 are in the mid–littoral zone.
Stations 13 – 15 are in the splash zone.
I know this through observation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also they may not inhabit zones 13, 14 and 15 because there is nothing for them to feed on there. Limpets were most common in stations 9 – 12,
therefore we can deduce that the predominate seaweeds here are what they mainly feed on. The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus
vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume
that this is where they like to graze. Out of Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion availability
the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well–adapted of all the marine snails for a life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own
'home' – an exact spot on the rock where it stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard
rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock's shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong
foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it difficult for birds to prise off the limpet.
The periwinkles (Melarhaphe neritoides) on the shore are much more spaced out and were found in every quadrat bar one. They were also in
abundance in the mid–littoral zone in quadrat 9 with a number of 25. Periwinkles, when

Persuasive Essay On Breast Feeding
Imagine this, you're a mother or a father and your child is crying. No, the child is screaming. He or she is hungry. For the first 6 months it's crucial
for a newborn to be breastfed. It's only natural to feed your child the food they need to grow and develop. So of course you're going to give them
the food they're crying for. People will argue you can pump or use formula, except pumped milk only stays good for so long, and formula costs
money and isn't always a mother's first choice. Some will use formula for their newborn while away and have a babysitter, except breastfeeding helps
them bond with their parent and is usually prefered among women.

B. Shaming breastfeeding is a widespread issue and is horrible.
According to Tracey M. DiLascio, public breastfeeding has been a debate for many years now but wasn't always considered indecent or sexual like it
is today, she published this article July of 2016 and named it "Breastfeeding in public: Overview. Points of view: Breastfeeding in Public." Some men
blame some of their sexual tendencies and harassing women on the fact that their breasts are exposed.
A few men argue that a women showing off cleavage is hot while breastfeeding is not, and then continue by saying that is why women shouldn't
publicly breastfeed. "I don't pee in public, so why should a woman breastfeed?" Is the wrong question to ask if you want to make breastfeeding seem
indecent. This is suggesting that eating is considered dirty or a private act, which it is not. Urinating in public is considered wrong because although it
is a natural act, it is also a private

development. In a company, there are many factors beyond pure coding affecting the whole project development process. Unstable organization
environment, corporate politics with negative effect on the project, or change in organizational management during the project etc. in a company will
all have impacts on the project. However, for students' developers, these issues are not within the consideration most of the times.
The realization of huge differences on potential risks between students' software projects and industrial software projects drives us to analyze risks
among student population more closely and independently from existing work. To gain more insight into the risk exposure among student software
project developers, especially under the following two different scenarios which are two common forms of practice for student groups: developing the
software project by an individual or by a small team (3 or 4 people in a team). Studying the relationship between individual/team–based software
projects and risk exposure among student groups is quite useful and interesting. As far as we can see, it is the first time to conduct risk analysis only
based on student groups and it is hoped that we could give student developers more guidance on risk management policies, which corresponding risks
analysis is based on student groups but not professional fields, thus lessening software project risks and improving projects' performance.

Ultraviolet (UV) light is just outside of our visual range. It's fairly energetic and causes changes to human tissue. This should be fairly obvious since
it tans the skin, causes sun burns, prematurely ages the skin, and can damage the eyes. Just as some types of people are more likely to suffer from skin
cancer because of UV exposure, some types of people have a better than average chance of suffering from UV related eye damage.
There are two general factors that contribute to this vulnerability: your genetics and external circumstances that increase your exposure to sunlight.

It simply takes more of it. It may not cause the same level of discomfort, but it still interferes with a clear view of the road when driving.
Your External Circumstances
There are many non–genetic external factors that affect your risk of UV related eye damage. These include:
You're an Outdoors Person
This makes sense since UV eye damage is a cumulative process. Your risk of UV eye problems later in life is the sum of all the hours spent every day
in the sun. This includes cloudy days. Some activities are especially risky. These include skiing, mountain climbing, time at the beach, and boating.
Nike sunglasses have a large selection that accommodates the needs of most outdoor enthusiasts and athletes.
You Live in Mountainous or Sunbelt States
The higher your altitude, the less protective atmosphere above you to protect against UV light. This means you get a higher rate of exposure than
someone living at sea level.
Thick clouds and bad weather do block some UV light. However, sunbelt states are predominantly sunny, which means you get more UV exposure
than those who live elsewhere. The southerly locale of the sunbelt states also means the sun is higher overhead during all seasons of the year.
Sunglasses are a must for those living in areas with high UV

пѓ±Evaluative metering measures light everywhere within the image, though gives a bit more attention to the area around the focal point. Use it for
evenly lit scenes.
пѓ±Center–weighted metering measures light from the center of the image, no matter where the camera is focused. Use this mode for subjects towards
the center of the image, especially if the subject is backlit.
пѓ±Spot metering uses a very small portion of the image (your focal point) to measure the exposure. Where evaluative metering takes a large portion
around the focal point, spot metering takes much less of the image into consideration. Use this when the subject doesn't take up a large portion of the
frame–like for photographing birds.
An ambitious photographer knows how to shoot in any lighting.
Often, the photo shoots are scheduled for the times of the day when the lighting is best, like late in the evening. But what about when a wedding
ceremony unfolds at high noon outdoors with no shade? The same shot will look different at different times of the day, but an ambitious photographer

Health Risks And Exposure Of Toxic Chemicals
Health Risk and Exposure to Toxic Chemicals Many scientific researchers have said that our environment has been filled with toxic chemicals, which
us humans have had a part of. There are many different issues that should concern us surrounding these toxic chemicals. The major concern is that
many of these toxic chemicals have been claimed to be causing damage to the health of humans and even other life forms. Another concern is that
most of the theses toxic chemicals have just recently been produced; and by our environment changing everyday there is no telling what effects
these toxic chemicals may have in the long run on the public 's health. Just about all of these toxic chemicals exist in the way they do because of
humans. As humans we practice a lot of different activities that cause toxic chemicals to pollute our environment such as, agriculture, industrial, and
many domestic activities as well. Many of the toxic chemicals that we produce and use don 't get used in a effective way, which causes them to be
wasted, left abandoned, and disposed of. When toxic chemicals are not disposed of properly they effect the environment and the public 's health in a
negative way. There are toxic chemicals surrounding all of us, no matter what part of the world we are in. We can 't see them but we breathe them in
and even eat them. The realization is that we have many of foreign materials traveling within our bodies, which is most likely causing damage to our
innards. Although these

Managing Operating Exposure And FX Risk At Nissan

  • 1. Managing Operating Exposure and FX Risk at Nissan Title: Managing operating exposure and FX risk at Nissan In order for Nissan to perform better, Ghosn identified that the company had to drastically change the way it does business. The automotive industry is a large capital consumer and thus the first step that was necessary was to reduce the cost of doing business. Ghosn decided that the company should reduce the cost incurred in purchasing by 20%, decrease company capacity by 30%, close five of their plants, and to reduce the number of workers by 20,000 through layoffs and attrition (Book Review, 2005). This was a crucial step in improving the company's financial performance but was met with resistance from suppliers and the country at large since the external environment was more concerned with status quo rather than sound financial performance. Nissan had one thousand three hundred subsidiaries and thus was incurring large amount of cost to run the business. By reducing capacity and closing plants Ghosn wanted to reduce cost incurred to operate and maintain numerous plants. In order to reduce global financial risk Ghosn put a system in place to reduce debts incurred by the company. He put measures in place to analyze company financial performance and developed strategies to reduce debts. In the first quarter of 2001 the company's initial debt of one thousand four hundred billion yens had been reduced to half. To improve financial performance a company must have productive resources. Previously Nissan and its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Use Of Automatic Mode Of A Dslr ( Digital Single Lens... Introduction Imagine yourself standing on one of the seven wonders in the world. Surrounded by the symbolic scenery you wish to seal up the beauty forever, but you're struggling due to a lack of knowledge of how to function a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera. This user guide will teach you how to use a DSLR camera from the fundamentals, along with in–depth knowledge of the profession functions using the three most important pillars in photography; Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO. Automatic Mode 1.1 What is Automatic Mode Automatic mode is when the camera self–selects the most appropriate settings for the chosen situation. It determines for you all of the functions such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance (WB), etc. All that is required for you to do then is point and shoot. [1] 1.2 How to Access and Operate Automatic Mode 1.Turn on your camera 2.Twist the mode dial until the green symbol 'auto' lines up with the white marker and your LCD screen displays the correct mode. (Figure 1,2) 3.Select a target and press the shutter button to capture. Programme Mode 2.1 What is Programme Mode Above we have discussed about the most basic mode–auto mode. Programme mode is one step more complicated than auto mode. It also self–selects the shutter speed, aperture, WB and etc for a given situation but the ISO is able to be manually manipulated. 2.2 How to Access and Operate Programme mode 1.With your camera turned on, twist the mode dial so that the

  • 4. EMDR Weaknesses Weaknesses and Downsides to EMDR EMDR has weaknesses and debated for being controversial due to it being difficult to support the signature aspect of the therapy, namely alternating eye movements as actually necessary to the treatment (McLay et al., 2016, p. 702). Eye movements and cognitive reprocessing which are deemed by EMDR as essential failed to make a unique contribution to the outcome of therapy (Rubin, 2002, p. 14). According to the Prochaska & Norcross, "The eye movements are only one form of bilateral stimulation and may not be required for the therapeutic effect" (2014, p. 211). Hand taps and repetition of auditory cues are other alternate stimuli which can be used instead of eye movements. Early claims were made about EMDR having almost magical results that only one session of EMDR could provide treatment for clients (McLay et al., 2016, p. 702; Prochaska & Norcross, 2014, p. 210). Furthermore, EMDR could be viewed as a simple variant of exposure therapy with a gimmick in marketing the therapy as something new (Rubin, 2002, p. 12). According to Perkins & Rouanzoin (2002), "EMDR is best explained by learning processes that subsume exposure and cognitive–behavioral treatments" (p. 80). EMDR has not been proven effective outside of PSTD. Prochaska & Norcross explains that EMDR has not been studied thoroughly with other behavioral disorder beyond PTSD and insufficient data makes it difficult to determine its effectiveness in other domains (2014, p. 211). ... • 5. Social Stereotypes In Zootopia Quote: "Because he's a sloth he can't be fast" This quote is a great example of a stereotype. Judy made an incorrect statement about a sloth just because of what type of animal he was. This statement was later proven not true, as the sloth was speeding throughout the streets of Zootopia. Concepts Stereotypes: Generalized (sometimes accurate but often overgeneralized) beliefs about a group of people. Throughout the movie, there are a lot of stereotypes evident. The main one is that predators are bad, and prey is good. Many believed in the movie that the predators could not be trusted after all the attacks that were happening, but that was not true. The rare cases of a predator going savage was due to toxic flowers. Discrimination: Unjustifiable negative behavior toward a group or its members. In Zootopia, an act of discrimination is seen in a flashback when Nick Wilde is joining the Ranger Scouts. In this scene, the members of the scouts put a muzzle on him just because he is a fox and "They cannot trust a fox". Situational Attribution: Believing the cause of a behavior is based on the person's situation, not their attitude. An example of this in the movie was when Judy found out the reason for predators going savage was due to the flowers, not due to their attitudes or genetics. Dispositional Attribution: Believing that the cause of a behavior is based on the person's attitude, not situation. In the scene where Nick Wilde was trying to buy a popsicle for his "son", Judy assumed that he was a great father. However, he was just trying to hustle her out of a free popsicle to sell later. Conformity: Adjusting one's behavior or thinking to coincide with a group standard. In the movie, when Judy said that she though that the predator's attacks were due to genetics, everyone conformed to this idea. The prey started to separate themselves from the prey and conform to this idea. Normative Social Influence: Influence resulting from a person's desire to gain approval or disapproval. In the movie, Judy Hopps works extra hard while on parking duty to get approval from Chief Bogo and get more interesting cases. Deindividuation: The loss of self–awareness and self–restraint occurring in group situations that foster ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ( Ocd ) And All The... The story is an intriguing tale that I would argue explicates and profoundly depicts the different dynamics associated with the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and all the corresponding tendencies that exacerbate the anxiety. The main character, Mr. Melvin Udall's behavior and actions speaks volume about the debilitating effects of the disorder. He seems to constantly have unwanted and intrusive thoughts that can't seems to get out of head, making him obsessed with it, Example the constant irrational worry about dirt at home, in the restaurant, on the streets so as to not come in contact with germ, virus or disease, and excessive concerns with order, arrangement, or symmetry, as well as Feeling overly responsible for the safety of others a distasteful religious and sexual thoughts or images. The anxiety that is developed as a result of the above tendencies that compels him throughout to repeatedly perform ritualistic behaviors and arrangements, such as cleaning, repeatedly washing of his hands and one occasion bathing for hours, while Helen, the waitress waited for him to go a date, clearing demonstrating the compulsion that is too often difficult to control, even though it appears irrational. It must be said that this compulsive aspect of the symptoms tend to help him mitigate or ease the anxiety that persist. So in a narrow sense the compulsive behavior serves as a positive remedy or coping strategy, but generally it is irrational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Age Of Light Art: Light Graffiti Light Graffiti Light is simply a name for a range of electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human eye. Light travels at the speed of light, 299,792,458 meters per second or 186,282 miles per second. With the existence of light today, we can use it in many ways such as tolight the darkness on the road or the simplest function of light at home. Not only that, light can also be used beautifully and creatively in art. One of the influential arts that used the combination of the light is Light Graffiti. In the beginning, the first Light Painting was photographed in 1949 by the great Pablo Picasso when he was experimenting with the light. Picasso stood in front of the camera, armed with a flashlight, and traced his style of imagery in the air before the shutter slammed shut. As a result, an illuminating set of photos was captured showing the result of his artwork which is a wild set of his self–portraits. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. The Effect Of Photography On Forensic Science Photography in forensic science is arguably an important factor to the forensic science world especially when is used in court situations to carry out justice in court. Photography helps to aid investigations & provides the court room & investigators with photos of victims, places and items in detail involved in the crime. The basics of photography is understanding how a camera works, a standard camera has very basic components these are – A viewfinder A focusing mechanism A shutter An aperture A lens The light–proof camera body Finally a variety of buttons/devices to control the settings So the basics of how a camera works are as follows as the light enters the camera this will be through the lens aperture. It is then reflected & the image is recorded on to a light–sensitive film that is loaded within the camera. When looking at the individual components of the camera firstly is the lens this is a curved piece of glass of which the light passes through to allow the light to enter the camera then this is redirected to finally this comes together in order to form an image. The aperture is located between the rear and front lens; the aperture refers to the size of the lens' opening this basically controls the amount of light that enters the camera, sometimes the aperture can be known as the f–stop or f–number. The largest aperture is – F–2 & the smallest is F–22. The shutter is the object that is covering the lens, and this is the feature that controls the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Social Media Child Development I'm sure all have heard the aged African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." The upbringing of a youth is a very imperative time. What is learned during the development stages of life is stored in the brain for future experiences, so that they know which decisions to make. Parents, alone, have wisdom that can be shared with their children, but different interactions within a community have a huge effect on the outcome of a child's overall development. In today's society, family bonds are not as strong as they once were. We, as a nation have moved further and further into technological advancement, and that is where most of out leisure time is directed towards. The "village" around a child is whatever he/she is exposed to on a regular basis; and, being that social media has become more and more popular around the world, it is believed that it, in itself, is that very "village". Most children today are able to access social media in a matter of seconds through the technologies of smart phones, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "For it is not what happens in a child's life, but how it is interpreted ... ", stated a Hilliard school system administrator. In the Scarlet Letter, Pearl's "village" is a Puritan community who treated incidents in the most distinct of ways. Growing up with her mother, Hester, who loved her dearly and was honest with her was not enough to satisfy her needs in life. She was peculiar in many ways due to the fact that her community was not in favor of her family; and even the concept of family was incomplete. She did not have her father. For a while, no one in her community stepped in to even act as a father figure for her, which had negative effects on the growth of little Pearl. She would've had a more joyful, normal childhood (and adulthood) had someone from her "village" stepped in, as her mother alone was not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Analysis Of Exposure By Wilfred Owen Exposure by Wilfred Owen 1.In the second stanza Wilfred Owens describes sounds of 'mad gusts tugging on wire' this emphasises the force and sounds of the wind. All the soldiers can hear around them is the sound of guns in the distance. The word "incessantly" means constantly for the men the gunfire seems never–ending. 'the flickering gunnery rumbles' has a rhythm, and may echo the distant, continuous sound the men can hear. The words 'gunnery' and 'rumbles' is the use of onamonapia the author is giving the gun human like qualities. 2.The second stanza makes it clear that the soldiers feel remote and unearthed by the gunnery in the north. "watching" and "hear" juxtaposition is used here giving a contrasting effect emphasising the soldiers confusion reinforcing the sense of "remote and unearthed". "mad gusts tugging on the wire" this reinforces the remoteness as if they were in the middle of nowhere. "Northward, incessantly, the flickering gunnery rumbles" the gun fire is coming from the north "incessantly" means never–ending for the men the bullets seem like they are coming from every angle reinforcing the notion of remoteness and being unearthed. 3."what are we doing here?" this completes the second stanza. The author uses this line to reinforce the horrible conditions. The men are asking themselves what they are doing here, why would they be stupid enough to come here just to get sent to almost certain death. 4.The poet gives us a picture of a miserable dawn. • 14. How Ehrhart Was Viewed as a Student Essay examples In the fall of 1969, Ehrhart attended Swarthmore College at the age of twenty–one. Also during this time the student body of Swarthmore College "were middle class, academically paranoid, politically aware, and the students were antiwar" (Ehrhart 7). This proposed a problem for Ehrhart because during the spring of 1968, while Ehrhart was still over seas, the college had asked for a picture of him in his Marine uniform. Ehrhart realized that after he sent the photo, it would be used for the school's Freshman booklet while all the commotion in school existed. He spent most of his days alone to avoid publicity and to keep a "low profile". By October, however, the reporter for the campus newspaper Phoenix asked if he could interview ... One might question why Ehrhart would even would agree to put his story in the school newspaper when his objective was to live a normal life and remain anonymous from the student body. Ehrhart mentions that "Vietnam veterans weren't exactly the most popular kids on the block" (Ehrhart 7). That statement contradicts Ehrhart because he is a celebrity and he planned to live a normal life in college. In fact, Ehrhart wanted to live such a normal life that he wasn't worried about the Freshman photo of him in the Marine uniform because Ehrhart's appearance was different the first day of college. Ehrhart said, "fortunately, I didn't look like that anymore, so a lot of people hadn't yet figured out who this guy Ehrhart was" (Ehrhart 7). Ehrhart clearly wanted to start a new chapter in his life. As a human being and a scholar, Ehrhart has a right to attend college and live a normal life as he intended to do. The fact that Ehrhart had to really stress over his celebrity is ridiculous. The war played a huge part of Ehrhart's wanting to remain anonymous during his time in school because he just wanted to erase the past and focus on the present. In fact, Ehrhart mentions some of the trauma that he went through and in his newspaper article it says that nothing else seems as hard as the war. • 15. Human Exposure And The Risk Of Cardiovascular Disease... With regards to the health effects of PM2.5, epidemiological and clinical studies suggest a strong association between human exposure to PM2.5 and the risk of cardiovascular disease development. These studies have shown that exposure to PM2.5 from ambient air pollution and/or tobacco smoking is linked to a number of cardiovascular conditions including hypertension126, coronary artery disease127, myocardial infarction128, 129, atherosclerosis126, and arrhythmia130. To this end, short term exposure (< 24 hours) to PM2.5 is associated with 0.4% to 1% increase in the relative risk of daily cardiovascular mortality131, whereas long term exposure posed a higher relative risk131, 132 . Interestingly, the risk of atherosclerosis as measured by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, deposition of PM2.5 on alveoli was found to trigger an inflammatory response and oxidative stress, accompanied with the release of a host of pro–inflammatory mediators, vasoactive molecules and reactive oxygen species into the circulation. These will subsequently affect the vascular integrity and induce thrombogenesis138, 140. Also, it has been proposed that PM2.5 can modulate the autonomic nervous system and result in increased vasoconstriction and change heart rate variability, which will potentially enhance the risk of developing arrhythmias and thrombosis141. Importantly, it has been found that the dose–response relationship between particulate matter exposure and cardiovascular mortality is also non–linear142. In fact, the observed dose–response curve was steep at low levels, suggesting that a consequential adverse cardiovascular outcome can happen as a result of exposure to low levels142. Interestingly, a study suggested that PM2.5 is responsible for more than 90% of the predicted harm caused by thirdhand smoke pollutants143. In summary, clearly, there is substantial evidence in the literature that PM2.5 from ambient air pollution and smoking exerts harmful effects on the cardiovascular system. However, whether e–cigarettes PM2.5 produces similar effects is not known yet, but warrants investigation. This notion is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Privacy Is One Of The Problems Of Media Privacy Now a day, privacy is one of the problems of media ethics in our life. The Longman dictionary defines privacy as the state of being able to be alone, not seen or heard by other people, and free from public attention. We may recognize that it is simple to keep privacy; nonetheless, journalists and people don't keep it even through they know that it is important. Furthermore, the tendency that it will be fine even if you do not keep privacy is getting stronger year by year. One of the reasons is because technology is developing rapidly in the world. This evidence is that a lot of people bring with them their smart phones and computers to the evidence of this. Stefano Taddei said, "The results suggest practical implications for online social network providers, most of all with regard to privacy policies in online environments" (2013). In the future, the providers will develop and affect us positive and negative through using technology. I believe that privacy is most important for the future because privacy is the origin of the media ethics, which is about indecency, control, and truthfulness. I think that privacy is a problem of particular importance concerning human's virtue in this time. First, the problem is indecency. Some argue that indecency in media encourages people to mimic the behavior they see in the news stories from sensational movies. When there is lack of other kinds of evidence, police often rely on eyewitness to find potential suspects. However, many psychologists think that it should not be used in the criminal justice system as most of the wrongful convictions were caused by inaccurate eyewitness testimony. While interviewing by person, participants might think that they were considered a good eyewitness and good eyewitness supposed to give the right details. Therefore, they have more confidence in themselves and are more likely to do better than completing the task on papers. Another study was conduct by Short and Dalby (2007) to support this theory. 106 participants completed the study by watching a videotape and identifying the suspect in the photo line–up. The video showed a man stealing a lady's purse in a hair salon. At the end, they rated their confidence from 1–7 (low–high). In this study, only 32% of the participants correctly identified the culprit. These participants had an average of 5.3 when they rated the confidence level, while participants who made inaccurate identification only had an average of 4.9. That means participants who gave the correct answers had high confidence in themselves. • 19. Social Media Reflection As I created my media campaign, I focused on three concepts from social cognition: cognitive dissonance, object appraisal function, and message effect. I was not only interested in how my audience would perceive my message, but also, in how my own perceptions shape my actions and beliefs in relationship to environmentally friendly behaviors. Initially, I thought about my childhood and growing up and the messages about the environment my own parents taught me. Because I grew up on a farm, we were consumed with wasting as little as possible so that our family business would continue to flourish and support us. I decided to focus my media campaign project on the issue of household food waste. According the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American throws out 20 pounds of food per month and spends $2,200 on wasted food. This information helped confirm that I wanted to do my project on food waste. Growing up we had lots of chickens and we fed food scraps to them. With the resurgence of interest in chickens I thought that would be a good topic. But when I started designing and planning material my idea just would not gel. I realized that part of the reason I was struggling is that I no longer have chickens and because of that it was hard for me to make a persuasive case for others to keep chickens. Also, I do not think that my intended audience would be able to have their own chickens. Consequently, I decided to discuss something that was practical and could be ... However, the business legal structure of a given organization greatly determines the risk of exposure to personal liability (Bevans, 2006). The paper investigates and compares the risk of exposure to personal liability in five business entities and explores how the risk can be mitigated. Business personal liability risk is classified as limited and unlimited. In unlimited liability, the personal assets in addition to business assets can be seized (Hillman & Loewenstein, 2015). Numerous studies have been conducted based on cognitive responses, but this study focused on the affective responses. The main purpose of the study was to accept or reject (test) the hypothesis that mere exposure influences affective responses using other measures than a cognitive response, such as self–report. They would test this by measuring facial electromyographic or EMG responses to the stimuli, thus measuring emotional responses. Tanning is when a person is really pale but when the sun rays hit your skin your skin becomes browner. You tan in the summer because that is when the sun is out. Spray tanning is the form of self–tanning. A liquid mist is sprayed onto your body. The mist has an ingredient in it called Dihydroxyacetone that interacts with your skin's chemistry to turn it tan or brown. Spray tans are more healthy than tanning in the sun, but they are both still bad for you. Spray tans and Suntans are two different things. Spray tans are less dangerous than tanning in the sun. When you get a spray tan the only thing that can happen to you is that you might get an allergic reaction. When you tan in the sun there are greater risks of skin and eye damage. Sun tanning can give you skin cancer, Wrinkles, eye damage, and painful sunburns. Tanning beds are also really dangerous if you don't put on glasses or goggles then you could go blind. When you do spray tans you can have an allergic reaction but, with sun tanning the consequences are much larger. Economic differences such as national income, money growth, inflation and trade balances between countries inhibit accurate currency valuation, causing unexpected fluctuations and volatility in exchange rates. As we at CCE are based out of the United States of America, with operations across 200 countries, this volatility poses two major risks, transactional and accounting risk. The first is transactional risk, which is defined as transactions that lose value due to unfavorable fluctuations of the exchange rate resulting in potential losses for CCE. Our expenses and revenues are not always incurred in the same currencies. We have predetermined profit margin thresholds, and those margins can erode rapidly when the currency we incur our expenses appreciates, or the currency in which we earn our revenue depreciates. Next, we are concerned about accounting risk. At each reporting period end we must translate all of our balance sheet items to our reporting currency (USD). This means that if we hold assets in a foreign denominated currency and it depreciates relative to the USD, it will result in a write down of our balance sheet assets. This can be particularly harmful in the face of loan covenants, and potentially drive up our borrowing costs. This can also result in a decrease of our net income and drive down our share price. • 26. Health Care Workers Risk Exposure Infectious Diseases Every day while caring for patients, health care workers risk exposure to infectious diseases, especially bloodborne viruses due to accidental punctures with needlesticks and sharps. Preventable injuries caused by percutaneous puncture wounds with sharp objects contaminated with bloodborne pathogens are all too common in the hospital environment. Many healthcare workers simply accept these risks as part of their job (Wilburn, S., 2004). Needlestick and sharp injuries (NSIs) present major potential problems for hospital workers who come into regular contact with needles, workers such as nursing staff, lab workers, physicians, and housekeepers who work where sharps are typically present. Misapplication of needles, scalpels, lancets, broken glass, or other medical instruments only heighten this risk. Exposed individuals are at serious risk of contracting infectious diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which are transmitted through blood pathogens from contaminated needles or sharp devices (Cho, E. & others, 2013). The advent of OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard and other revisions that called for advances in sharps technology, and the research utilized by peer reviewed literature identified new procedural requirements for health care workers, providing helpful elaboratory additions to exposure control plans meant to reduce worker exposure from hazards associated with bloodborne pathogens. However, the censorship of "non–normative" sexualities and genders has been occurring in one form or another for countless generations. Many mistakenly believe progress in terms of LGBT+ rights and public perception of sexuality to be linear, with a definitive end point. This could not be farther from the truth, as Joey L. Mogul highlights in his book Queer (In)Justice. Far from rare, the police's role in the day to day lives of queer people is often one of suppression, restriction, and violence rather than protecting and serving. Police frequently cross societal and professional boundaries, operating as a state–sponsored tool of morality enforcement, picking and choosing which laws they will implement on a purely arbitrary basis. Although we may seem far removed from the days of Stonewall, Compton Cafeteria, and the assassination of Harvey Milk, the police continue to be oppressive and inhumane in their treatment of those who do not fit the heteronormative and/or gender binary. As with many issues in the LGBT+ movement, this debate is often centered around cis white men, although the majority of those in the crosshairs of police brutality continue to be people of color, most often trans and genderqueer. The species of seaweeds in these stations were mainly Fucus vesiculosus, Ceramium and Lithothamnion. My research tells me that juvenile limpets are brought up in the Lithothamnion, therefore we can presume that this is where they like to graze. Out of Lithothamnion, Fucus vesiculosus and Ceramium the limpet population follows Lithothamnion availability the best. Also, the limpets are perhaps the most well–adapted of all the marine snails for a life on the exposed rock surfaces. Each limpet has its own 'home' – an exact spot on the rock where it stays when the tide is out. On soft rock, the limpet grinds it with its shell to make an exact fit; on hard rock, the shell is ground down to fit the rock's shape. This tight fit allows the limpet to trap a spoonful of water inside to stop it drying up. A strong foot muscle gets a firm grip on the rock, making it difficult for birds to prise off the limpet. The periwinkles (Melarhaphe neritoides) on the shore are much more spaced out and were found in every quadrat bar one. They were also in abundance in the mid–littoral zone in quadrat 9 with a number of 25. Periwinkles, when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Persuasive Essay On Breast Feeding Imagine this, you're a mother or a father and your child is crying. No, the child is screaming. He or she is hungry. For the first 6 months it's crucial for a newborn to be breastfed. It's only natural to feed your child the food they need to grow and develop. So of course you're going to give them the food they're crying for. People will argue you can pump or use formula, except pumped milk only stays good for so long, and formula costs money and isn't always a mother's first choice. Some will use formula for their newborn while away and have a babysitter, except breastfeeding helps them bond with their parent and is usually prefered among women. Need– Women are shamed for breastfeeding publicly everyday. According to Kimberly Truong, in an article called, "This woman was shamed by her own family for breastfeeding in public." published ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We cannot force a mother to leave an area where she is allowed to breastfeed according to the law. B. Shaming breastfeeding is a widespread issue and is horrible. According to Tracey M. DiLascio, public breastfeeding has been a debate for many years now but wasn't always considered indecent or sexual like it is today, she published this article July of 2016 and named it "Breastfeeding in public: Overview. Points of view: Breastfeeding in Public." Some men blame some of their sexual tendencies and harassing women on the fact that their breasts are exposed. A few men argue that a women showing off cleavage is hot while breastfeeding is not, and then continue by saying that is why women shouldn't publicly breastfeed. "I don't pee in public, so why should a woman breastfeed?" Is the wrong question to ask if you want to make breastfeeding seem indecent. This is suggesting that eating is considered dirty or a private act, which it is not. Urinating in public is considered wrong because although it is a natural act, it is also a private ... • 35. Software Projects And Risk Exposure Among Student Software... development. In a company, there are many factors beyond pure coding affecting the whole project development process. Unstable organization environment, corporate politics with negative effect on the project, or change in organizational management during the project etc. in a company will all have impacts on the project. However, for students' developers, these issues are not within the consideration most of the times. The realization of huge differences on potential risks between students' software projects and industrial software projects drives us to analyze risks among student population more closely and independently from existing work. To gain more insight into the risk exposure among student software project developers, especially under the following two different scenarios which are two common forms of practice for student groups: developing the software project by an individual or by a small team (3 or 4 people in a team). Studying the relationship between individual/team–based software projects and risk exposure among student groups is quite useful and interesting. As far as we can see, it is the first time to conduct risk analysis only based on student groups and it is hoped that we could give student developers more guidance on risk management policies, which corresponding risks analysis is based on student groups but not professional fields, thus lessening software project risks and improving projects' performance. This should be fairly obvious since it tans the skin, causes sun burns, prematurely ages the skin, and can damage the eyes. Just as some types of people are more likely to suffer from skin cancer because of UV exposure, some types of people have a better than average chance of suffering from UV related eye damage. There are two general factors that contribute to this vulnerability: your genetics and external circumstances that increase your exposure to sunlight. Your External Circumstances There are many non–genetic external factors that affect your risk of UV related eye damage. These include: You're an Outdoors Person This makes sense since UV eye damage is a cumulative process. Your risk of UV eye problems later in life is the sum of all the hours spent every day in the sun. This includes cloudy days. Some activities are especially risky. These include skiing, mountain climbing, time at the beach, and boating. Nike sunglasses have a large selection that accommodates the needs of most outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. You Live in Mountainous or Sunbelt States The higher your altitude, the less protective atmosphere above you to protect against UV light. This means you get a higher rate of exposure than someone living at sea level.

Use it for evenly lit scenes. пѓ±Center–weighted metering measures light from the center of the image, no matter where the camera is focused. Use this mode for subjects towards the center of the image, especially if the subject is backlit. пѓ±Spot metering uses a very small portion of the image (your focal point) to measure the exposure. Where evaluative metering takes a large portion around the focal point, spot metering takes much less of the image into consideration. Use this when the subject doesn't take up a large portion of the frame–like for photographing birds. An ambitious photographer knows how to shoot in any lighting. Health Risks And Exposure Of Toxic Chemicals Health Risk and Exposure to Toxic Chemicals Many scientific researchers have said that our environment has been filled with toxic chemicals, which us humans have had a part of. There are many different issues that should concern us surrounding these toxic chemicals. The major concern is that many of these toxic chemicals have been claimed to be causing damage to the health of humans and even other life forms. Another concern is that most of the theses toxic chemicals have just recently been produced; and by our environment changing everyday there is no telling what effects these toxic chemicals may have in the long run on the public 's health. Just about all of these toxic chemicals exist in the way they do because of humans. As humans we practice a lot of different activities that cause toxic chemicals to pollute our environment such as, agriculture, industrial, and many domestic activities as well. Many of the toxic chemicals that we produce and use don 't get used in a effective way, which causes them to be wasted, left abandoned, and disposed of. When toxic chemicals are not disposed of properly they effect the environment and the public 's health in a negative way. There are toxic chemicals surrounding all of us, no matter what part of the world we are in. We can 't see them but we breathe them in and even eat them. The realization is that we have many of foreign materials traveling within our bodies, which is most likely causing damage to our innards. Although these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
