2. French revolution principles
A revolution is a process of total change profound and violent of
the political, economic and social systems of a country
This event, as it happened in France shaked all Europe.
Illustration and the American Independence were factors that led
to the French Revolution
People were tired of taxes and social inequality
New principles were declared:
The rights of men
Liberty, Equality and Fraternity was the motto for the revolution

3. French revolution characteristics
French Revolution applied popular sovereignty
proposed by Rousseau
The division of powers proposed by Montesquieu
The liberty for work and the laissez faire theory for
economy
Anti clericalism of Voltaire
After killing the monarchs, French was declared a
republic and democracy was instituted

5. Napoleon´s invasion to Spain
This was an immediate cause for independence processes to
begin in America
Napoleon invaded Spain and imprisoned King Charles IV and
the prince Herr Fernando
People in the colonies, reacted and rejected Napoleon´s
power over the colonies
Now Americans had to decide, to fight for the Spanish crown
or fight for their own independence
And that is how, independence movements begin.
