It is an uprising in France which started by oppressed people to
topple the monarchy and resulted the establishment of republic.
4. How did it start?
• It began when the people of Paris
attacked Bastille where French kings used
it to imprison people whom did not agree
with the political, social, and economical
system of the monarchy.
• Bastille was a clear representation of the
oppressive and autocratic nature of French
kings.
• This event is known as “The storming of
Bastille”.
